The serial number for your range is located on the lower left front edge of the chassis of the range, behind the front edge of the warming drawer.

To see a photo showing the location of the serial number plate, please click on the following link, then select "Additional Resources" > "Where Is The Serial Number Located": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

During normal baking mode, the center fan spins when the door is closed, providing even air flow. When convection is selected, then all three fans spin when the door is closed.

The FTQ387 range does not have a glass tray for the oven floor, and I was unable to find reference to a "glass tray" being placed on the oven floor in the FTQ387 User Manual, which is downloadable as a pdf file from this website. Samsung microwaves, on the other hand, do have glass turntables which must be in place when using. Perhaps this is the instruction you are referring to.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with the temperature of your FTQ387 electric range. The oven temperature can be adjusted ±35°F by following the instructions on page 36 of the User Manual. If your oven temperature is off by more than that, I would suggest contacting Samsung through the Live Chat option on the product support page, or calling 800-SAMSUNG to speak to an agent who can assist you further.

Question

Registering Problem

I'm trying to register my range and had to enter a date later than the purchase date. We purchased the range Feb 18, 2010, but didn't have it delivered until May. They delivered a range that was manufactured March 31, 2010, so the registration page won't accept my purchase date. What should I do?

Question

how to prevent oven racks from tilting down when slid out?

When sliding rack out to more easily take dish out of the oven, the rack tilt forward down, and the pan nearly slides off the rack onto the open door below. Unacceptable...

We just purchased this range and must find a solution for this problem before someone gets hurt or burned. Otherwise, we will have to return it..

Thank you for the question. It is necessary for the racks to have some freedom to move to enable them to slide in and out, and they should be supported when pulled out to prevent items from sliding forward. Please make sure the oven is level both front to back and side to side to ensure the racks are also level to start with. If the oven is leaning forward at all, it will be more difficult to keep items from sliding forward when the rack is pulled out.

Hot pot on cold cooktop?

Resting a hot pan on the cooktop of the FTQ387, even when relatively cold (meaning at room temperature) should not be a problem. Please review the User Manual for recommendations on the types of pans which could scratch or stain the ceramic surface, however.

The FTQ386 and FTQ387 have most of the same functional features, though there are some differences in the design with regard to the handles, the knobs and the door glass.

Both models feature a 5.9 cubic foot oven capacity with 3-fan True Convection and 3 oven racks, recessed broiler and hidden 8-pass bake element, a 20-minute Steam Quick cleaning cycle, Warming Drawer, and five-burner smooth cooktop with a warming center. The FTQ387 also has the Fast Boil feature on the double burner.

The FTQ387LWGX does not come with a power cord. I would suggest you consult with the appliance associates at your retailer or a licensed electrician regarding local building codes and the use of 3 or 4 prong connections, as well as which cord will fit your connection if you already have one, since there are different prong patters for different plugs.

The FTQ387 is rated for 240V 60Hz and a 40 amp power supply.

I cannot tell you whether the available colors will change in the future, but the FTQ387 is currently available only in Stainless Steel. The FTQ353IWUB electric range is black, and though it does not have the 12" burner, it's five-burner cooktop does have two 6"/9" burners, two 6", and a warming center. Other features include a 5.9 cubic foot capacity, standard convection oven with warming drawer and Samsung's Steam Quick feature for easy, efficient cleaning.

Here is the link to the FTQ353IWUB product page and specifications: http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/...

Question

How do I put warming drawer back into the stove?

I've taken the warming drawer out successfully. I can't put it back into the stove. It won't go all the way back into the stove. The manual speaks about replacing the shield on the right glide of the drawer body. What is the shield? I don't see anything. The drawer stops about 2/3rds into the stove.

Thanks for the question. Current FTQ387 models no longer have the "shield" referenced in the User Manual. The key to reinstalling the warming drawer is to have both the right and left rails aligned, and to make sure the bearing glides on the chassis are in the forward position. It's not unusual to feel some resistance when pushing the drawer back into place, but if everything is aligned you should be able to push it back by applying a small amount of pressure. If you haven't already, check the cavity and the rail for items or debris that could be obstructing the path of the drawer.
