I'm sorry to hear this. The door has to be disassembled to clean between the glass, and we recommend contacting an authorized servicer to do this. I would suggest contacting 800-SAMSUNG or your retailer for assistance locating an authorized service center near you.

Question

Have you stopped making the higher-end ranges in WHITE?

It seems that all ranges from this model up that have more higher-end features are not available in WHITE. Are you going to make any of these ranges in WHITE? Or is my best choice now and in the future the WHITE FTQ353? Is the WHITE being phased out of your line?

I cannot tell you what the plans are for offering higher end models in other colors, including white, in the future, and I am not aware of any plans of phasing white models out of our line-up. At this point in time, you're correct that the model that offers the most features and is available in white is the FTQ353IWUW. This 5-burner ceramic smoothtop electric range also features a spacious 5.9 cubic foot, 3-fan convection oven with an 8-pass hidden bake element, the innovative Steam Quick cleaning option, and a handy warming drawer.

Thank you for considering Samsung!

The cooktops on Samsung electric ranges, including the FTQ387LWGX, have been internally tested to support loads of up to 70 pounds and run continuously at maximum heat levels for extended periods of time. Samsung does not guarantee fitness of the product for any specific purpose, however, it is our understanding that the load, heat and time parameters of general non-commercial canning would fall into those performed in our tests. Please understand that this statement does not imply that the referenced cooktop could be used for commercial use, as operation of the product in a commercial manner may void the warranty.

Ceramic cooktops should be used and cleaned properly in order to avoid scratches. Special cleaners designed specifically for ceramic cooktops are available, and mild liquid detergents are also acceptable for cleaning. It is important to select the proper cookware, as well, avoiding glass, which can scratch ceramic, and cookware with rough surfaces. Sliding metal (like aluminum) across ceramic can also cause marks. For proper cookware selection, use and maintenance of the FTQ387 and Samsung's other ceramic cooktops, please refer to the User Manual, which is downloadable as a pdf file from this website.

Hot pot on cold cooktop?

I've heard that resting a hot pan on a cold burner can damage the cooktop,

Resting a hot pan on the cooktop of the FTQ387, even when relatively cold (meaning at room temperature) should not be a problem. Please review the User Manual for recommendations on the types of pans which could scratch or stain the ceramic surface, however.

The FTQ386 and FTQ387 have most of the same functional features, though there are some differences in the design with regard to the handles, the knobs and the door glass.

Both models feature a 5.9 cubic foot oven capacity with 3-fan True Convection and 3 oven racks, recessed broiler and hidden 8-pass bake element, a 20-minute Steam Quick cleaning cycle, Warming Drawer, and five-burner smooth cooktop with a warming center. The FTQ387 also has the Fast Boil feature on the double burner.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue with your FTQ387 range, and understand it can be frustrating. "SE" is the shorted key error code. When this occurs, press the CLEAR/OFF pad and restart the oven. If the problem persists, disconnect all power to the range for at least 30 seconds and then reconnect the power. If this does not solve the problem, your range will likely require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

The FTQ387LWGX does not come with a power cord. I would suggest you consult with the appliance associates at your retailer or a licensed electrician regarding local building codes and the use of 3 or 4 prong connections, as well as which cord will fit your connection if you already have one, since there are different prong patters for different plugs.

The FTQ387 is rated for 240V 60Hz and a 40 amp power supply.

There are a number of products on the market specifically intended to clean real stainless steel. Another option is to apply a small amount of baby oil to the stainless finish using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. This will not only clean the stainless steel, but will help prevent fingerprints from recurring.

Thanks for choosing the FTQ387!

Question

How come we are getting an error message E-0E with a icon of a padlock flashing on our Samsung FTQ387LWGX ?

This started when I tried to Self Clean the oven with the steam button. The padlock icon would keep flashing and beeps but when you press clear or stop the beeping stops the time would show but then after a minute the beeping would start again and the padlock icon still flashes. Now the oven turns off as soon after a minute come about or when the beeping stars. So now the oven is useless cause we can not get it started long enough to heat it. Just found out our local Samsung repair service don't do your brand anymore. Any suggestions?
