Thank you for the question. There is no specific time estimate for the oven to preheat, particularly since the amount of time would depend in large part on the starting temperature and the selected setting. However, keep in mind that while Samsung ranges are equipped with powerful bake and broiler elements, the ovens are also large-capacity at 5.9 cubic feet.

The cook tops on Samsung electric ranges have been internally tested to support loads of up to 70 pounds and run continuously at maximum heat levels for extended periods of time. Samsung does not guarantee fitness of the product for any specific purpose, however, it is our understanding that the load, heat and time parameters of general non-commercial canning would fall into those performed in our tests. Please understand that this statement does not imply that the referenced cook top could be used for commercial use, as operation of the product in a commercial manner may void the warranty.

I can't tell you whether a particular brand or style of canner is acceptable, so would suggest you contact the canner manufacturer to determine its appropriateness for use on a ceramic cook top.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. Try pressing Clear/Off, make sure the door is closed securely, then try to restart the self-clean cycle. If it still won't start, try unplugging the range or turning the circuit breaker off for at least 30 seconds, then plug it in or switch the circuit breaker on and try to restart the self-clean. If this does not resolve the issue, your FTQ353 may require service. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

It's likely that the warming drawer on your FTQ353 is not closing completely because it is not correctly seated on the track. Please follow the instructions found on page 46 of the user manual for removing and replacing the drawer, noting that the "shield" referred to in step 1 of "How to replace the warming drawer" is no longer included on most of the ranges, so you can skip that step. It's important that the bearing glides be at the front of the rail (see step 2) in order for it to click into place as described. For your convenience, the user manual can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website.

Thanks for the question. The convection fans in the FTQ353 should operate when the convection feature is on, but they will not operate when the door is open so it may be difficult to determine if they are, in fact, running. If you're concerned that the fans are not turning when the door is closed, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak to an agent who can help determine whether your range requires service.

Question

Convection / Burner difference between 353 and 387 model ranges?

The web site and manuals are identical for the convection and burners, how is it that the convection is better on the 387, and how is it that the 1 burner is fast boil on the 387? Both models burners are the same 300 Watts! Both are 3 fan convection!

Thank you for the questions. You're correct that both the FTQ353 and FTQ387 ranges have 3-Fan Convection; however, the FTQ387 has True Convection (sometimes referred to as European Convection), meaning there is a third heating element located behind the middle convection fan that helps to provide additional heat dispersement. Regarding the Fast Boil feature, while the FTQ387's left front burner is 3000 watts, the FTQ353's front burners are actually 2500 watts.

I hope this helps clarify these differences,

Look again. I thought I had a stain between the door and the glass window, but it was really on top of the glass (inside the over). I can't remember if I used a razor blade or a green scrub pad or some Bartender's helper. But I would try them in that order. I think I used some very hot water. I hope yours is actually on the glass. When you think about it, it would be quite difficult to get it on the inside of the glass.

I'm sorry to hear your cooktop is scratched. Unfortunately, there is no surefire method for removing scratches. However, I would suggest reviewing the User Manual for information on removing residue and discolorations from the ceramic cooktop, since these discolorations may resemble scratches but can sometimes be removed. Please refer to pages 43-44 of the User Manual for more information.

To help prevent scratches in the future, please use the recommended cleaning procedures, make sure bottoms of cookware are clean before use, and use cookware with smooth bottoms.

The FTQ353 will automatically adjust the oven temperature down by 25 degrees when convection bake is selected. However, the time is not converted because some baked items require a certain amount of time for ingredients to cook properly. I would suggest consulting the package or recipe directions for convection cooking for best results.
