Yes, the FE-R300 electric range does have a 1.1 cubic foot storage drawer, which can be used for pots and pans.

This model also features four radiant cooktop elements including one with Fast Boil, a generous 5.9 cubic foot oven capacity, and Steam Quick to help keep your oven clean in just 20 minutes with the push of a button!

Thanks for considering Samsung,

There is a storage drawer for pots and pans on the bottom of the Samsung FER300SB. I don't know if you would consider it large, since that seems like personal opinion, but mine seems adequate to me.

The drawer is shallow and will not hold pots, it will however hold pans. I guess you have to sacrifice drawer space for the larger oven, which is one of the largest in the industry.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue with your new range. It is not unusual for there to be some residual heat on the surface of the cooktop after the burners have been turned off. It is also conceivable that the right rear area of the cooktop is hot if the oven is on due to the location of the oven vent. However, if the cooktop element is still generating heat on its own even after it's been turned off, and the oven is not on, then your range will require service. If necessary, disconnect the range from power by unplugging it or turning off the circuit breaker. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Also, it is possible that someone would think the element is on because the heat light is still on (light on front of the range). I have a Samsung FE-R300SB, and mine does this. The heat light stays on until the stove is absolutely cool to the touch. Therefore, don't use that light to determine that the element is on...it just means the stove is still hot from use.

Question

Samsung Gas Range

When will Samsung make a gas range available for purchase??

I have a Samsung French door refrigerator and now I am so happy with it I now want to outfit my whole kitchen with Samsung appliances.
At this moment my over the range microwave just went out and I want to replace it with a Samsung unit but not if I cannot get a gas Samsung stove. Currently Samsung only makes electric ranges but I prefer gas and my kitchen is only set up for gas.

If Samsung does not make a gas range the only Samsung appliance in my kitchen will have to be my wonderfull refrigerator.

I'm so glad to hear you're happy with your Samsung refrigerator! We also make a number of wonderful over the range microwaves, with a variety of different features which you can peruse on this site.

The Samsung gas range is not yet available, and I cannot tell you exactly when it will come out. I do suggest you continue to check this site though for updates.

Thank you for your loyalty and interest!

Question

Is there a know issue with the self-cleaning feature of the FE-R300SB range?

We just purchased the FE-R300SB range and had it installed on 21 February. After having a "runover" in the oven my wife ran the self-clean. When it was done the glass on the inside of the oven door was filthy with what appeared to be grease. We placed a call to the service department where we purchased the range and were told that this is a known problem with this range and that Samsung is working on a solution. Will we be notified when a solution is available?

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue with your FE-R300SB range. This situation is not unique to Samsung and is a function of needing to have the space between the glass panes on the oven door vented to prevent the outter pane from getting as hot as the oven cavity. Unfortunately, the self-clean cycle is not able to remove the grease that made its way between the door glass through the vents. To clean between the glass panes, it may be necessary to disassemble the door which should be done by a qualified technician in order to prevent the warranty from being voided. For further assistance and information, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Question

Aluminum foil in oven

When specifically can I use aluminum foil in my oven? The manual says to follow the manual's suggestions for using foil but it never says when I can use it.
Protective liners. Do not use aluminum foil to line the oven bottoms, except as suggested in the manual. Improper installation of these liners may result in a risk of electric shock or fire.

Samsung does not recommend using aluminum foil to line the oven because it can damage the oven surface and prevent proper air flow. The manual does mention in several places that foil can be used to cover items being warmed in the oven, however. For an easy way of searching references to "aluminum foil" or other terms in the user manual, I would suggest downloading it to your computer as a pdf file. Pressing "Control F" will bring up a search field and you can type in whatever term you're looking for. This can be a very handy tool!

Question

Jewish/Sabbath??

What in the world is this Sabbath cooking feature? And what is this supposed to mean, "the oven temperature adjustment feature should be used only during Jewish holidays"? Is this intended to be a little humor in the Owner's Manual?

Thank you for the question! The Sabbath mode on Samsung ranges is intended as a convenience for customers who choose to live by the rules of their faith, not to exclude others from using it if they wish. This special mode disables the automatic shut-off mechanism that prevents the oven from being left on for an extended period as a safety precaution. When Sabbath mode is selected, the oven can be left on indefinitely (such as during the weekly Jewish Sabbath, from sundown on Friday to sundown on Saturday). Samsung recommends turning the Sabbath mode off when it is not needed, so the automatic shut-off is enabled.

I hope this helps to clarify the manual's explanation!

What cookware do you recommend for use on your ceramic cooktops?

I can't find a large skillet that will sit flat on the cooktop. All the ones I have tried have either a convex or concave shape and do not sit flat on the cooktop...they will rock back and forth and cook unevenly. There must be cookware you use to test your product...can you share that with me?

The control panel on your FE-R300SB can be locked by pressing the Clear/Off button for 3 seconds. If you are trying to start a self-clean cycle, the Door message will display if the oven door is open; the self-clean cannot start if the door is open, or if the controls are locked. For more information, please refer to pages 31-32 of the user manual. Question

should a samsung oven cook at the temp it is set at?

i bought my house new so my appliances were brand new when i bought it. my oven doesnt cook at the tem it is suppose too. example: if i have to cook something on 375 degrees for 20 mins i usually hae to cook it for atleast 45 mins to get it done. the builder i bought my house from had someone come out there and look at it. the gentleman that looked at it said that the manufacturer has the over st to cook 35 degrees less then what we set it at. Example if we set the over at 375 degrees they are saying that it will only cook at 340 degrees. Should this be the way My oven works?

Thanks for the question. It is common within the industry for there to be a variance of up to ±25°F between the set temperature and the actual oven temperature, based on a number of factors; Samsung ranges are actually designed to have even less of a variance (±10°F to 20°F). If you determine that your FE-R300SB is running either too hot or too cool, you can adjust the thermostat yourself by up to ±35°F by following the instructions on page 28 of your user manual, which can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website.

If your range is taking 45 minutes to cook what should take only 20 minutes, it is likely that an adjustment is necessary. If you determine that your oven's temperature is varying from the set temperature by more than ±35°F, I would suggest contacting Samsung for service to make the necessary repairs or adjustments. To initiate the service process, please submit your contact information through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

The Crispy Pizza setting on the FE-R300 range is a preprogrammed feature based on common settings for a particular recipe. If your prepared pizza instructs you to bake it at 325°F, then you should use the standard Bake function and set it at that temperature instead.

I'm sorry to hear your range is scratched. Unfortunately, there's no easy solution for removing scratches from stainless steel, especially if the scratch is deep enough to change the contour of the surface. If the cooktop surface is scratched I would suggest reviewing instructions in the user manual for cleaning the cooktop, including removing marks from certain pans that may look like scratches. If this doesn't help, and you wish to consider replacing the scratched part, please visit SamsungParts.com or call 800-627-4368 for information and availability.
