This is not normal. You need to call Samsung, you may have a defective phone or product. You need to specify how old is your phone, have you dropped it, has it fallen into water and with what applications this happens, in order for me to help you or direct our better. This information you should also given to Samsung Technical Support.

You don't say what are you using to connect to the vehicle. The Dock that Samsung sells or other device. This is for the Samsung Dock (that is what I am assuming you are using). However, depending how you are connecting the phone (if not through the dock). this might work or not..

There is a setting that enables or disables the sound when docked. Its located under

Settings ---> Dock ----> Audio output mode

This item should be unchecked. Try again.. if this does not work. Check the following.

Settings--> Sound ---> Volume --> Music, Video, Games and other media

Make sure your volume is not turned down towards the left, but other way up toward the right (the bar should be green).

Test it again, and adjust this setting to your liking. If it still does not work, then try connecting another device to this output to see if it works. If it doesn't the output port on the vehicle died.

If it works with another device, but not the note then they are incompatible (again, I don't know how or what you are connected to in your vehicle).
