Questions & Answers for samsung Galaxy S Replacement Battery (1500mA)

Question

Battery for Samsung Epic S?

The original battery in my Samsung Epic phone is listed as 1500mAh. I see other batteries for sale that are "extended life" that are more than that. Will these batteries be ok in the phone, or should I try to find the exact same battery?

I bought the exact same battery, as a spare, I had 3 that I would rotate and keep charged. The extended battery would be a good idea if it was an Samsung battery designed for the phone. Aftermarket batteries may cause damage to your device.

I think you are referring to a factory data reset. Go to settings->sd card and storage-> and factory data reset. Tis will reset your phone and erase all apps not stored on sd card. Music and photos will be safe however.

Thank you for your inquiry.

Regarding your concern, there is no need to install any software on the computer for you to connect the device with your PC. All you need to have is a memory card inside the handset and a data cable then set the phone to mass storage.

To connect the phone to the computer, please follow the steps below:
Pull out and up the memory card slot cover
Insert the formatted microSD card into the memory card slot
Connect the USB data cable to both the handset and the USB port on the PC
If Select USB Mode appears on the display press the clear key to return to the standby screen OR if the MTP Connect to the PC... appears on the display, press OK then with Yes highlighted press OK to disconnect from the PC
From the standby screen, press OK for Menu
Select Settings & Tools
Select Tools
Select USB Mass Storage
From the PC, double click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop
Double click on the newly created drive letter (which may appear as an icon or text, depending on your View settings)
Double click on the folder to view the contents
Copy and paste or drag n drop the files to/from the destination on the PC
From the handset, press OK for Disconnect
With Yes highlighted, press OK then remove the USB data cable from both the handset and PC

Hi, are you trying to transfer media files? If so, for you to connect the phone to the PC, it would require you to have the memory card inside the phone and a data cable that is part of your standard box contents. Once you already have the requirements, and then do the following steps:
Select Menu.
Select Settings.
Select Applications.
Select USB settings.
Choose Development
Make sure that USB Debugging, Stay Awake and Allow mock locations are all unchecked.
Connect the USB cable to the device.
Connect the opposite end of the USB cable to the computer.
Bring down the Notification Bar, and select USB Connected.
Select Mount
Check on the computer screen if it will recognize the device and Removable Disk will pop up on the screen. Select open folder to view files. Choose Image/Graphic folder, drag and drop/copy and paste the file from the source folder going to the destination folder.

Have a Good Day

*note: You don’t need to have any device for this procedure.

Hi tbonec19!

Thank you for your inquiry.

Apparently, we do not have any available software nor drivers that you would be needing for you to connect the phone to the computer.

If you are going to transfer media files from your Samsung Captivate™ Android Smartphone (SGH-I897) to the computer, you may do mass storage so you could transfer them to the computer. For you to connect the phone to the computer, it would require you to have the memory card inside the phone and a data cable that is part of your standard box contents, once you already have the requirements, and then do the following:

If the microSD memory card came from another phone and you could not saved any files on it. Try to format the microSD memory card using your phone so that the phone will recognize the microSD memory card inserted in it.

To format a memory card:
1. Select the Applications Tab.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select SD Card & Phone Storage.
4. Select Unmount SD Card.
5. Select Format SD Card.
6. Select Tap Format SD Card.
7. Choose Erase Everything.
When the format process is complete, the 'Format SD Card' option will grey out.

Note: Formatting the microSD memory card will delete all information saved on your memory card. I will suggest backing up first your files saved on the microSD memory card.

Mass Storage Settings
1. Select Menu.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Applications.
4. Select USB Settings
5. Check the box besides Mass Storage.
6. Press the Home Key to return to the home screen.

Tip: Make sure that the Bluetooth is deactivated on the phone.

Connecting to the computer:
1. Ensure that a microSD memory card with content is loaded into the device's memory card slot.
2. Connect one end of the supported data cable into the device's USB port and the other end into an available USB port on the computer.
3. "USB Connected" will show briefly in the Notification Bar followed by a USB icon.
4. Tap and hold the Notification Bar and pull it down by sliding your finger down the screen.
5. Tap on USB Connected and then select Mount.
6. If prompted on the PC, select "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer" from the Removable Disk pop-up.
7. If not prompted as in step 6, on the PC open My Computer and select the Removable Disk drive letter that was assigned to the device.

Note: It is now possible to drag and drop (copy & paste) music files between the device and the PC. It is recommended that separate folders for different media types be created on the memory card for better organization.

If the notification does not show up on the phone or on the computer, try to turn off you phone or connect the USB cable to another USB port on your computer.

Should you desire additional assistance resolving this, we invite you to call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

Hello and thanks for reaching out!

Try following the steps below:

After hooking up your device to the computer, you will see the USB symbol in the "communicator line" (at the top of your display). Pull this down by touching and sliding it down. Select "USB connected", another window appears, select "Mount". You should now be able to view, move, access files on your device and pc.

For additional assistance, reach out to our customer support at 1.888.987.4357 or follow us on twitter at twitter.com/galaxyssupport (@galaxyssupport) and twitter.com/samsungservice (@samsungservice).

Thank you and have a great day!

Hello Sgtlainie,

In order to assist you, we need the model number of your tab. Is it the 7" or 10.1" tab? Is it a Wifi only or carrier model. Please write us another questions through this forum including the model number. The device that was chosen in association with this question is a battery cover, not a Galaxy Tab.

You may also please call Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.
