I have an "out of warranty" Samsung DVD-V9800 unit. The DVD player drawer will not open. It jams. I believe it is the carriage lift bar. Not fixable. I like the unit and I want to buy the player component only. I'll install it myself. As you may have figured out I have already removed the DVD assembly. The rest of the unit works fine.. The component part number is: ID2ak9702256bajg5z850985. The Ser. # on the unit is: B6086CZZ802097V. Sure hope you can help me. I would hate to throw away such a good player.
These are instructions but no where does it say how to set the channel. How do I do that?

I read the book on it, and did what it said to do. I put the Player on VHS mode, put my VHS in the VHS slot, and it would not play it said "No Disc" in the top corner. Please tell me why this is happening.
I have tried DVD+R & DVD-R discs that I converted from VHS tapes. I have tried .wmv, .avi, and .mpg/.mp4 formats. When I try to play one of these I either get "NO CODEC" or the player doesn't recognize that there is a DVD in the machine. The owner's manual says it should play these formats. Am I missing something? (It plays regular DVDs, such as movies, with no problem.)
The TV only has inputs for the cable/antenna (we have cable), and Audio R, Audio L, and Video cable jacks. I connected the cable that came with the V9800 to the TV, and then the V9800 (in its OUT jacks). I played a VCR tape but nothing showed up on the TV screen, yet I could tell from the V9800 screen that the VCR tape was playing. WHat else do I need to do?
