Looking for Answers about samsung DVD-V9700?

cannot use the player

Model - DVD-V9700 - Whenever we try to play any DVD it is giving following error message on the screen. Same DVD's were played earlier in this player. Please let me know the resolution steps.
This disc cannot be played.
Please check the disk

It has been playing all dvd's for several years. Two weeks ago, Netflix disks would not load and I get the following message on the tv screen: THIS DISK CAN NOT BE PLAYED. PLEASE CHECK YOUR DISK.
I spoke to a live person at Netflix and he was puzzled, said he's never heard of this problem before. Any explanation why these disks will not play? I have a couple of old dvd's and they play with no problems.

I have a disc from EU that will not play on my v9700

The unit is 4 years old, first time I've tried to use it, the Samsung logo comes on screen, I insert disc and it shows loading on bottonm of screen and then it tells me I have no disc?? I'm assuming I have it hooked up correctly, I need HELP.. thanks fran B

This DVD/VCR unit worked fine on my old TV, but now I'm having a problem. I hooked up the V9700 to the new TV via a HDMI cable, and get a great picture when I play a DVD. But, when I play a video tape, and toggle the TV to the correct input, nothing. I hooked up additional component video/audio cables to the TV, and now get sound when I play a video, but still no picture. I make sure that the DVD/VCR unit is toggled to VCR when I play a video. What am I doing wrong; what more needs to be done?

Every time we put in a dvd lately, we get this message: "DVD will not play. Please check the DVD."

I have tried various dvds, but continue to get error message on TV screen, "Cannot Play Disc, Check Disc." The back side of the DVD player says it plays region number "1" coded discs, but I cannot find a region number on any disc that I inspect. Unit worked fine until I ran a DVD cleaning disc.

What is going on the newly manufactured DVDs will no longer play on my V9700 DVD player. Three new DVDs in a row for new release movies will not play. I switch in an old DVD and it plays fine. What is going on.

I am receiving this when I try to play a dvd. I have had this product DVD-V9700 for 4 years and have never had any trouble until this past weekend. The vcr side plays fine. I hate to purchase another one if this one can be fixed/repaired/problem solved.

The discs play on other DVD players as well as laptops. I just did the firmware upgrade on your website for this product but I still get the same error message. I have no problem playing older DVDs.
