I tried to update the firmware on the DVD Player by burning the firmware file on CD. As per the instructions, I accepted to update the firmware, the screen said it was loading and the tray opened and closed after a minute or so. I did not remove the disc (since the firmware update instructions page did not mention about removing it). Once the tray closed, the unit powered off and then did not come on. I left it overnight deciding not to touch it (maybe it was still doing something) but even in morning, it was not on, and it wont come on. I haven;t touched the unit since then and would like to know what do I do at this time.
We're sorry to hear this has occurred. We recommend you disconnect the DVD player from the wall, leave it unplugged for 10-20 seconds and then try plugging it into another outlet to see if it will power on. If you are unable to get the DVD player to power on, you will need to file a service request to have the unit inspected by an authorized service center.
Our DVD player states that there is NO DISC when we have inserted a disc. Is there a way to correct that?
Two and a half years ago we had Provident Electric in Renton WA install two Samsung HDTVs as well as components for a sound system. As part of that installation we also had a blue ray player and the DVD player noted above. During that interval we have primarily used the blue ray player for playing DVDs, and only occasionally (maybe a dozen times) used the DVD player. On our last occasion we were unable to play the DVD because the read out area indicated that NO DISC was inserted when there was clearly a disc there. We repeated the insertion process several times and checked other discs to make sure there was no problem with that particular disc. We also looked in the instruction manual and saw no references to such a problem. What do you suggest?
We contacted Provident Electric and were referred to you to see if you could help. If not would you honor a warranty since the player had been used so infrequently.
I upgraded my dvd-1080p8/XAA to the latest firmware. The procedure went fine. However when the DVD player powered back on there is no HDMI support at all. No HDMI output and the menu items for HDMI are gone and the remote HDMI-SEL function just shows a not supported symbol on the screen. Also. No audio support is available in any output mode. In other words, The player is useless unless I can downgrade the firmware or find the right version. ANy help would greatly be appreciated!! Thank you!
I have my tv hooked to a 5disk DVD, also Samsung through the aynet HDMI. Very often if I turn my DVD player on my tv will click like it is turning on and will show nothing on the screen. It will keep cycling though and clicking but never turns on. I didn't have this problem before aynet. Usually I can unplug the tv and it will start fine. I tried that this time with no success please help.......
Re: Blu-ray DVD player c6500, is there an upgrade to fix the problem described below?
We constantly have to enter our wifi security code to access internet on player. Message is, "Due to the change of a wifi policy, cannot support the TKIP security in 802.11n mode. In that case, check security setting on the access point." This is very annoying and time consuming.
How do I connect my Playstation 3 to my HT-Z420 surround system?
My PS3 and DVD/Surround receiver are both connected to my HDTV via HDMI but into different ports on the back of the TV. At present, I get blu-ray quality HD video from the PS3 but only 2-channel stereo from the tv speakers. How do I hook the PS3 to my surround receiver, with respect to audio output, so that I may hear full surround sound while gaming? The HT-Z420 >TV connection via HDMI is great for movies but I want the same quality sound while gaming. How do I achieve this? Please help!
