No - if you stacked the dryer on top of the washer, the washer "senses" what is stacked on top of it according to what the technician told us when he was here to fix our steam issue. It would not sit on top of the dryer either because the high speed spin cycle would cause it to shift.

Yes they are stackable with a stack kit and the dryer door can be switched to swing the same way as the washer does.

This is normal. The Cycle Chart on page 37 of the user manual shows which heat settings are available for each cycle. To select a heat setting other than High or Medium, select Wool (Low), Delicates (Extra Low), or a Time Dry setting.

I've run into the same problem. The answer is that there is no solution. The work-around is to use the Timed Dry setting and then select Low Heat. The downside is that this setting does not use the on-board humidity sensor so clothes can be under or over dry. It frustrates me too but the dryer is so great otherwise I've decided to keep it.

My sheets alway roll up into a tight bundle when spinning in the dryer and don't dry.

I put the sheets in loosely, use the default permanent press setting but this still happens. I have to constantly stop the dryer cycle, to unwrap the sheets. It can take up to three times as long to dry my sheets due to this problem.

Thanks for your question. If the large capacity of the DV431 causes your sheets to become twisted and roll up into a ball, try adding 3 to 4 towels to the dryer to help take care of the issue.

I ran into the same problem, so frustrating. Three bedsheets (basic cotton, queen/twin size) can't get dry in a single dying job, have to start in two additional times. I might need to throw in tennis ball or dryer ball next time to see if it helps.

my current washer dryer is washer on the right and dryer on the left. The water source is ion the right. the new ones will be opposite if the doors cannot be changed.

You can only swap the hinge on the dryer so when/if you stack them. They are set up for the washer to be on the left and the dryer to be on the right.

You can only move the door on the dryer to swing the other way. They are designed for the washer to be on the left and the dryer to be on the right, Unless you stack them and you can swap the door on the dryer to match the swing of the washer.

The DV431AEW electric dryer actually has 4-way venting, meaning it can be vented through either the left or right side, as well as the back and the bottom. If you choose to vent it through the bottom or either side instead of the back, you'll need the DV-1A venting kit to convert it, which is available through SamsungParts.com.

Please note that the gas version of this model, the DV431AGW, has 3-way venting and cannot be vented through the right side due to the location of the gas connection.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. Please make sure the door is closed and latched completely. If the door is not closed properly, the dryer will not run. Check the lint filter to make sure there is no blockage of air which can prevent the dryer from operating properly. Try cycling the power to the dryer by unplugging/replugging or turn the circuit breaker off then on again. Reset the cycle and press the Start/Pause button. If the dryer still won't run, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

Dryer time

Our new dryer was delivered a few days ago and the dryer time are going way past what the manual is stating should be the total drying time. For ei we did a load of sheets One bottom sheet, one top sheet and two pillow cases on bedding plus the timer said 50min manual said 47min dry 3min cooling total 50min however the dryer ran for 2hr and 40min before shutting off. We have been watching the timer display on the dryer and it will randomly go from 7min to 16 min to 30min… so will tried just pulling them out after the 3rd time change and the everything was very dry. Please tell me this a problem with the dryer because I paid way too much to only be able to dry 3 loads in a day!

Can you send me a longer dryer cord for my stacked dryer?

I just got your awesome washer and dryer. I have them stacked to create space for more accessible storage and a small counter top for folding in a very small laundry nook. The 6' cord doesn't reach the dryer plug unless directly perpendicular putting the washer and dryer in neither on the left, right, nor middle of the small nook. Can you remedy this design flaw?

The electric dryer does not come with the cord, so if the one that you've had installed is not long enough, I would suggest checking with the installer to determine if a longer one is available. If you actually have the gas dryer which has the power cord installed at the factory, then service would be necessary to change the cord if, in fact, a longer option is available. While there is no research to measure the effect of dryer balls on Samsung's sensor dry settings that I am aware of, I would suggest running drying cycles with and without the balls to determine whether you have a different result. Dryer sheets are fine to use with Samsung dryers, so if the balls are effecting performance I would suggest using the sheets instead.
