Question

Where can I get the Manufacturer's Certification statement

Manufacturer’s Certification is a signed statement from the manufacturer certifying that the product or component qualifies for the tax credit. The IRS encourages manufacturers to provide these Certifications on their website to facilitate identification of qualified products. Taxpayers must keep a copy of the certification statement for their records, but do not have to submit a copy with their tax return.

Samsung does not have a manufacturer's certification statement available. I would suggest checking EnergyStar.gov or EnergySavers.gov for information in support of rebates related to energy efficiency. These rebates are often based on factors that are measured by Energy Star standards and documented on their website and on the Energy Guides that are shipped with the products.

If it Doesn’t heat.
• Check the home’s circuit breaker and fuses.
• Select a heat setting other than Air Fluff.
• On a gas dryer, check that the gas supply is on.
• Clean the lint filter and exhaust duct.
• Dryer may have moved into the cool-down phase of the cycle.

If it Doesn’t dry.
• Check all of the above, plus...
• Be sure the exhaust hood outside the home can open and close
freely.
• Check the exhaust system for lint buildup. Ducting should be
inspected and cleaned annually.
• Use a 4” rigid metal exhaust duct.
• Do not overload. 1 wash load = 1 dryer load.
• Sort heavy items from lightweight items.
• Large, bulky items like blankets or comforters may require
repositioning to ensure even drying.
• Check that the washer is draining properly to extract adequate water
from the load.
• Load may be too small to tumble properly. Add a few towels.

The cylinder part of the drum always turns to evenly distribute the heat and air flow coming from the fins on the drum. The back of the drum does not turn and supports the weight on the backend of the dry rack. So, technically, the drum does spin .... and doesn't spin ;)

The DV419AEW has 4-way venting, meaning it can be vented through either the left or right side, as well as the back and the bottom. The new DV-1A side venting kit is available through samsungparts.com or by calling 800-627-4368. Samsung dryers do not offer ventless drying.

Question

Is there a better lint trap for the dryer?

The standard lint trap that comes with the DV419AEW is difficult to clean because the screen is coarse, making it difficult to remove lint that has built up. In addition, there are a lot of openings on the lint side (dryer side) of the lint trap that accumulate lint that is difficult to remove.

Is there an alternate lint trap that is easier to remove lint and keep clean for the best dryer operation?

There is only one type of lint filter available for the DV419AEW. Since it's made of wire mesh, some people might describe it as "coarse", which is normal. If you find yours to be difficult to clean, I would suggest comparing it to a screen on a Samsung display unit at a store near you. If, after comparing it, you believe it to be defective, then I would suggest you contact 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who may be able to assist you.

With regard to the "openings on the lint side (dryer side) of the lint trap", it is normal for some lint to escape past the lint trap into the vent well. It is recommended to clean the well out periodically to loosen and remove the lint so it doesn't obstruct the air flow. That being said, if your lint trap does not fit securely into the well, please feel free to contact an agent at the number above to discuss possible solutions. Thank you for your questions!

Question

Builder installed dryer vent booster pump in exhaust line. Does DV419 support that kind of installation or void UL listing?

Had walk-through today for newly constructed home. My home inspector questioned booster pump in exhaust line. Run is over 25 feet to outside vent after drop down from first floor laundry room into HVAC room. Is this supportable for DV419 model dryer?

Thank you for this question. It's difficult to answer based on the information given, so I've attached a chart below to help you determine the correct answer. If the vent duct is within the recommended parameters listed below based on the duct material and number of elbows used, then the draw of the booster pump could potentially be too strong, causing hot air to be pulled from the dryer drum. If too much hot air is drawn from the dryer, it could cause the dryer to be less efficient and laundry may not dry effectively. However, if the run exceeds the recommended specs, then a booster pump would be needed.

The DV419 has options like Steam WrinkleCare, which helps to remove wrinkles from clothing, and Wrinkle Prevent, which helps to stop wrinkles from setting in by continuing to tumble the clothes intermittently for up to 90 minutes after the heated dry cycle is complete. However, it's important to remove the clothes from the dryer by the end of the Wrinkle Prevent option in order to keep the wrinkles from setting in once the items have stopped tumbling. Factors that are beyond the dryer's ability to help prevent wrinkles include the temperature setting being too hot for the fabrics, the load being too large, and the items being left for too long after the cycle is complete. Therefore, I would suggest reducing the temperature, removing some items, and hanging/folding clothes as soon as the dryer stops.

answer 1
There are a few possible causes of the dryer making a squeaking sound. If you're drying something very heavy like rugs or bedding, then it's possible the dryer is overloaded and causing the belt to slip and squeak. If this is the cause, then remove the items, place them back into the washer, and select a Spin Only cycle to remove the excess water.

If you're unsure as to whether the sound is coming from inside the dryer or behind it, then check to see if there is a loose connection in the duct work, which could allow the thin metal sheeting to rub and cause a squeaking sound.

If neither of the above scenarios is the cause, then your dryer will require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

We are remodeling the bath and would like to vent this from the right side while stacked on its matching washer, (WF419aaw) how high should we place the vent pipe above the floor? We would like a direct, straight line venting so we can use non flexible pipe. We are also using samsung's, side vent kit and stacking kit.

Thank you for the question. Please click on this link for a diagram of the vent knockouts on the dryer: http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa...

The WF419 is approximately 39" high and the center of the vent knockout on the dryer is 4" from the bottom of the cabinet. Therefore, allowing for a 1/2" between the washer and dryer once the stacking kit is installed, the center of the knockout should be about 43-1/2" off the ground. Keep in mind the actual height may vary slightly depending on the amount to which your washer's leveling legs are extended.

I hope this helps!

I'm sorry to hear you lost the pearl beading from your shirt in the vent well. You could try using a long lint brush to reach down into the well to retrieve the item. Otherwise, a service technician would be needed to disassemble the dryer. For assistance locating a technician in your area, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent.
