The features page says "yes it does sanitize," but the specifications sheet says it doesn't (drying cycle: sanitize = NO). You can't have it both ways. I am thinking about buying this dryer and value this feature, but I find this conflict confusing. PLEASE, clarify.

The washer has a Sanitize Option, but on the matching dryer it doesn't have a Sanitize specific option. The dryer has a Steam function that is great. I don't think a Sanitize function on a dryer is necessary.

The DV410AEW is certified by the NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) to sanitize, and the pre-programmed Sanitize cycle accomplishes this.

I ordered a convertor kit; this allows it to vent to the right , left or down! I installed the new pieces to vent right, it was very easy. Now my dryer can go right up against the wall.

The service manual containing diagrams and disassembly/reassembly instructions for the DV410 dryer can be ordered through SamsungParts.com or by calling 800-627-4368. Samsung recommends having the LP kit installed by a qualified technician.

There are a variety of factors that can cause the DV410 to run longer than expected during Sensor Dry cycles. If you're drying a mixed load of clothes (jeans and sheets, for example), the sensors which are located in the front of the drum may continue to detect some moisture from the jeans though the sheets are dry, or vice versa, and continue to run the dryer. For this reason, Samsung recommends drying fabrics of similar weights together when using the Sensor Dry options.

Another factor that can cause excessive dry times is lack of ventilation. If your vents are clogged, or if there is a build up of lint in the filter, the dryer may not be able to operate efficiently. It may also help to wipe the sensors, located inside the drum next to the lint screen, to remove any lint build up or residue that could effect their performance.

If there is a "scrolling rectangle" on the display, and the dryer is running excessively long without heat, this is an indication that the Wrinkle Prevent option is selected. You can turn this off by pressing the Wrinkle Prevent button on the display.

If none of these considerations appear to explain the excessive dry times during your Sensor Dry cycles, it's possible your dryer requires service. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

why will the drum only spin if i manually start it?
