I'm sorry to hear your DV328AGW dryer is not heating. The most common cause of the dryer not heating is obstructed air flow from a clogged lint trap or vent ducts. Please check the vents for blockage. Other factors to check are to make sure the gas is connected and the valve is on, and an appropriate heated dry cycle is selected. If you've checked each of these suggestions and the dryer still will not heat, it will require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Question

How do you tighten the Samsung base to the DV328 dryer?

I just purchased a Samsung Dryer DV328 with the matching base. The base cannot be tightened to the dryer as the two bolts in the front cannot be tightened. This causes the dryer to wobble on the base. How can the dryer be secured tightly to the base?

When properly installed, the bolts should be able to be tightened. Please refer to the image below for proper placement of the plastic screw nuts and accompanying screws. If the screws were overtightened, it's possible the plastic nuts were stripped and will need to be replaced, which would prevent the screws from being able to be tightened securely. For replacement parts, please contact samsungparts.com or call 800-627-4368 to speak with an agent who can assist you.

The 3-way venting means that the DV328AGW can vent from the back, bottom and left side. They just can't vent from the right because of the location of the gas connection. If you choose to vent the unit from the left side, Samsung now has a side vent kit, model DV-1A, available for purchase from samsungparts.com or by calling 800-627-4368.

Question

Power consumption for gas version DV328

The web site gives the same power consumption rating for both the gas and the electric models of this dryer. Since the electric model uses a heating element I find that difficult to believe. Please verify and explain why the GAS version is the same as the electric - the specs have no info for gas beyond "5300W/22,000 BTU"

I am going to put surge suppressors on my new equipment and want to get the right size.

Question

Is a heater relay available for DV328AGW/XAA dryer? If so, what is the cost?

Dryer runs but does not heat. Service person states that it needs a thermistor and a heater relay - the testing shows the thermistor is not working and he gets a weak reading on the heater relay. He also states the heater relay is no longer available. Thank you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having these issues with your DV328AGW dryer. If the door is not closing tightly, please check the door lock mechanism and doorway for obstructions. Make sure the lint filter is clean and inserted properly, so as not to block the door from closing. If the alignment appears to be off, please review the information in the User Manual as it pertains to reversing the door (page 17), to be sure it is installed properly. If you've checked all of these options and the door still won't close securely, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can help determine the best solution for correcting the issue with the door.

Regarding the excessive dry time, there are several possible factors that could lead to this. Please click on the link below, then select Operation ► Excessive Drying Times: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If this article does not help to resolve the issue, please use the link provided at the end of the page to initiate the service process.

Thanks for the question. Gas dryers can't be converted to electric, so you would need to either purchase an electric dryer or have the gas lines installed. The electric dryers require a 240V/60 Hz/30 amp connection. Gas models require a 120V/60 Hz/15 amp electrical connection plus access to either natural gas or liquid propane. The gas dryers come ready to connect to natural gas, but would require a conversion kit for liquid propane (Samsung's LPKIT-3 accessory).

Question

Receiving "to" error code.

The lint screen on this unit has been cleaned after every load. I cleaned the exhaust duct, reconnected the dryer to the exhuast duct, and placed a mostly dry load in the dryer on a timed setting of 20 minutes. After three minutes, the error code appeared again. The unit has seen approximately 2 years of use at this time and has not exhibited any prior problems. Any suggesteions?

I'm sorry to hear you're having a problem with your DV328AGW. Please try wiping the sensors inside the dryer, just below the door opening, to remove any residue that could interfere with proper functioning.
