answer 2
The doors on the DV219 dryer can be reversed, but like most front load washing machines, the doors on the WF328 cannot. The preferred set up to easily move laundry from the washer to the dryer would place the washer on the left and the dryer on the right, so the doors would open out in opposite directions. If your dryer is stacked on top of the washer, you would probably want to have the doors open in the same direction. Instructions for reversing the door on your dryer can be found on page 19 of the User Manual, which can be downloaded through this link: http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/...
If you do choose to stack the units, you'll also need to order the SK-5A stacking kit accessory, which is available at samsungparts.com or by calling 800-627-4368.

If you're looking for a particular part, I would suggest visiting samsungparts.com or calling 800-627-4368 to speak with an agent who can assist you. You may also want to check the FAQ or Troubleshooting section on samsung.com for other information and instructions. Finally, the User Manual has a lot of useful information, including instructions and diagrams. If none of these sources have the information you need, you could also call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who may be able to assist you.

Question

What are common causes of the dryer to cause the circuit breaker to trip? How can I prevent this?

The dryer is on its own 30A circuit. Every now and then, the circuit will trip and the dryer will stop mid-cycle. This tends to happen two or three loads in a row and then will be fine. Are there any typical causes for the dryer to pull over 30A of current?

Thanks for the question. The DV328AEW is rated for 30 amps and should not need to draw more than that. I would suggest having an electrician check the wiring in your house to ensure it is set up properly. If the problem persists, please submit your contact information to our support team through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Might be a bad breaker. When the dryer is running touch the surface of the breaker, if it is getting warm chances are the contacts inside the breaker are going bad. If not the case there could be a loose wire shorting to ground inside the machine or possible the heating element is making contact with the element housing causing a short and tripping the breaker.

How long have you had the dryer? I would check the manual and run the diagnostic check. If you've had the machine for our three years I would check all hose connections, and proceed to detach the water hose to make sure additional sediments or iron buildup is not abstruction preventing it from heating up. If there is nothing there, then do a hard reboot, by unplugging the dryer and then plug it in and turn the dial up and see if it heats up. If that doesnt work, it will need a call to the specialist. Hope this helps.

Question

Why is the DV328AEW model Dryer no longer available?

We just purchased your washer & dryer back in September 09 and today I finally registered it and was browsing through the reviews and saw that this (our) dryer model is no longer available. What model are you selling that goes with the washer model WF328AAW/XAA02? Why did you choose to discontinue this model? So far we are very happy with our new set, but now I am a bit worried since its already discontinued.

I'm glad to hear you're happy with your DV328AEW dryer! Like most manufacturers, Samsung periodically transitions models to ensure the full line-up has an appropriate selection of features, colors and pricepoints to appeal to a diverse group of customers. The 328 washer and dryer was initially introduced in 2008. Though the features and design are still very current, there are likely new models on the horizon. The WF328AAW is still available for the moment, but this status may change as new models are introduced, as well. There is no reason for concern, and I wish you continued happiness with your 328 pair!

I'm sorry to hear your DV328AEW is not drying properly. I would suggest you refer to the Troubleshooting Guide for help determining possible solutions. Click on the link below, then select "Operation" and choose from several articles which may pertain to what you are experiencing, including "Dryer Time Changes Significantly on Sensor Dry Cycles" or "Clothes Are Damp At The End Of A Sensor Dry Cycle": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

As noted in the above article, if you are drying a normal Sensor Dry cycle with items of a similar weight, the time changes significantly and the clothes are not drying, your dryer will require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Question

What's causing my Dryer (DV218AEW/XAA) to stop drying and flash the display like it is paused?

Dryer starts up normally and heats up, then several minutes into drying the dryer stops and the display flashed (blinks) as if it was stopped by hitting the (PLAY/PAUSE) button. There are no codes displayed and the dryer will not start back up on it's own until the play button is hit again for powered down and restarted. We've made sure the exhaust is free of lint and we have reduced the load to a few articles, nothing matters. It does it in sensor mode or timed mode. The machine has worked flawlessly for two years. Cannot find any info on the web with people having similar problem with this machine.

I'm sorry to hear your dryer is stopping in this manner. The most common cause of the dryer stopping mid-cycle is obstructed air flow from a clogged lint trap or vent ducts. Please also check the power source to make sure your DV218AEW is connected to a dedicated 30-amp electrical supply that is functioning properly. If you've checked each of these and the dryer still will not operate properly, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will help determine whether your dryer will require service.

Your 30-foot length may be fine depending on the type of vent and number of elbows used in your installation. Please see the chart below for a quick reference, and refer to page 8 of your DV328AEW User Manual for more detailed instructions. Question

Is it normal for excessive moisture release from the dryer?

I just received my new washer/dryer today, but when I was drying a load I came downstairs to find everything covered in water. There was a big puddle on the floor below the dryer and there was moisture on everything. My laundry detergent bottle was dripping water from how much moisture there was. I'm not thinking this is normal...is something wrong with the machine or is there a quick fix for this issue?

The condition you are describing sounds like the vent may be clogged or restricted. The most common area to clog is the part of the vent that exits through the wall of the house. Remove the hose at that area and inspect for a clogged or restricted hose/exterior vent

Since the DV328 does not have a water source, water in the vent ducts could be an indication that the moisture from clothes is condensing within the vents because of inadequate venting; the weather hood on the outside is not installed properly so is letting water inside; or there is a gap in the vent ducts that is enabling water (perhaps from a leak) from an outside source into the vent duct. If the problem recurs, please check the weather hood and ducts for proper installation and ventilation.

Question

My Samsung dryer is not drying the clothes. How can I perform the system diagnostic?

I did the basic check and it does not show any error codes. The heater unit is not open and the ducts are clean.
The only issue identified was with one of the wires that was smashed on the box in the wall and had signs of overheating.
Motor and front panel work fine and the drum spins normally. It just does not get any heat.

Can you please provide any assistance.
Since I bought the unit in the US, I moved to Brazil and I have have to service it locally.

Thanks

I'm sorry to hear your DV328AEW is not heating. If the power supply is functioning and rated properly at 240V, 60 Hz and 30 amps and the vent ducts are clean, service will be necessary to diagnose and repair the unit. Samsung recommends having service performed by a qualified technician to avoid damage to your dryer or injury to yourself. I would suggest contacting Samsung in Brazil (Samsung.com/br) to locate a service center there.

What is the best matching dryer I can get to match the WF328AEW since the DV328AEW is no longer available. I want one that most closely matches the style of the WF328AEW (Blue LED's, Door, White, etc.) and has senor dry, VRT, wrinkle, and possibly steam dry (Not as important and willing to skip based on price).

First, I would suggest searching on line for a retailer near you that may still have the DV328AEW available. Though Samsung is no longer making this model, there may still be inventory available through our retail partners.

The DV328 was the last model to use its particular control panel design (black oval controls with blue and red LED lights), so none of the more recent models will match that design. It's up to you to decide which of the new styles you prefer to go with your WF328AAW. For example, if a similar door design is most important to you, then you may want to consider the DV350AEW Steam Dryer, DV330AEW or DV219AEW. All of these models are 7.3 cubic feet and have Sensor Dry, Wrinkle Prevent (or Release), Drying Rack and Stainless Steel Drums.

Thank you for your interest!
