Questions & Answers for samsung 7.3 cu. ft. Electric Dryer

Question

Drier doesn't heat

I checked the existing questions and the most common answer to the problem was a block in the duct. I had a brand new duct put in when I got my washer and drier. So I don't believe I have a block. When I go outside I can see the louvers on the vent moving so I believe there is airflow. I also had a new circuit pulled to my electrical box so I am pretty sure I have power. What else might cause the drier not to get warm?

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue with your DV220AEW. Besides the points you mentioned, please make sure the lint trap is clear and a heated dry cycle is selected. (Please forgive me for stating the obvious, but it is sometimes the obvious that is overlooked.) Also try cycling the power to the dryer by unplugging and replugging or turning the circuit breaker off then on again. If the problem persists, your dryer will likely require service. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Error code "bE2" means that the dryer detects a button has either been pressed for over 30 seconds or is stuck. Make sure a button is not being pressed continuously and restart the cycle. If the code returns your dryer will require service. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

The DV220 can be stacked on top of most current Samsung front load washers using the SK-5A stacking kit accessory which is available through SamsungParts.com or by calling 800-627-4368. The SK-5A is also available through many major retailers that carry Samsung front load washers and dryers.

The music at the end of dryer has stopped working. I can't figure how to get it back on.

Pressing the Mixed Load Bell button for several seconds until the Signal Off icon is no longer illuminated should cause the signal to sound again. (The Signal Off icon looks like a speaker with a line through it.) If you're unable to turn the End of Cycle Signal back on, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can help determine whether your dryer will require service to correct this issue.

Question

Can different model washer and dryer be stacked?

Hello, I recently purchased a Samsung Washer and Dryer. I'm waiting for them to be delivered/installed, but have a question in the meantime. The models I purchased are a WF350AN Washer and a DV220AE Dryer. Can these models be stacked? If so, what is the model number of the appropriate stacking kit? SK-3A1/XAA, SK-4A/XAA, or SK-5A/XAA?

I'm sorry to hear your dryer is not heating. The most common cause of the dryer not heating is obstructed air flow from a clogged lint trap or vent ducts. Please check the vents for blockage. Other factors to check are to make sure the dryer is plugged into a dedicated 30-amp power supply that is functioning properly, and an appropriate heated dry cycle is selected. If you've checked each of these suggestions and the dryer still will not heat, it will require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Thanks for the question. VRT (Vibration Reduction Technology) is used in Samsung's current line up of washing machines (including the WF220), but not dryers. Since dryers tumble at a much lower speed than washers, VRT would not be relevant for them.

Question

The dryer does not stop. In normal cycle it counts down to "1" and then keeps spinning. It does not display "End" as the manual suggests.

The most likely cause of your DV220 continuing to spin after the cycle has ended is that the Wrinkle Prevent option has been selected. Please refer to the attached image with the Wrinkle Prevent button and indicator light circled. If either of these is lit up on your control panel, then it means this feature is on. Wrinkle Prevent will continue to tumble your dryer intermittently without heat for up to 90 minutes after the cycle is complete to help keep wrinkles from setting in. To turn it off, simply press the Wrinkle Prevent button again.

If the Wrinkle Prevent light is not on, a Sensor Dry cycle is selected and clothes are dry, then the dryer should turn off automatically. If this is not the case then your dryer likely requires service, which can be arranged by either submitting an online service request through the link below, or calling 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you further.

Question

what voltage is this dryer?

I would presume its 240v-30A, as almost all electric dryers are, but I see it states that its 120v, which must be a typo. I am really interested in purchasing this dryer, and cannot download the manual.

The DV220 dryer does not actually have a door alarm. If the door were not closed properly, the dryer would not run and should display an error code. You may be hearing either the Mixed Load Bell or the Wrinkle Prevent signal, both of which can be turned off by pressing the corresponding buttons on the control panel.
