Thank you for the question. The drum light should come on when the door is open. If it does not, and the power to the dryer is operating correctly, then you may need to replace the lamp by removing one screw with a Phillips Head screwdriver, and replacing the old bulb with a new one.

For information and availability of Samsung parts and accessories, including the replacement bulb for your DV220 dryer, please visit SamsungParts.com or call 800-627-4368 to speak with an agent who can assist you.

Thank you for the question. If the interior light is not coming on when you open the door, you may need to change the light bulb. The light is located to the upper right just inside the door of your dryer. Remove the Phillips Head screw holding the cover in place, replace the bulb, then replace the cover. For information and availability of replacement bulbs, please visit SamsungParts.com or call 800-627-4368 to speak with an agent who can assist you.

I dont remember that there are any preformed cut outs on either side of this dryer. That is generally an indicator that there is no information for that. It would be and improvised process. Dryers that I have had in the past had these and I did side vent it.

Samsung has a side venting kit, model DV-1A, available for purchase through SamsungParts.com and through most major retailers that carry Samsung appliances. Your DV220AEW/XAA can be vented 4 ways (back, bottom, left or right side), and the instructions for converting it from rear to bottom or side venting are included with the DV-1A kit. Samsung recommends having a qualified technician install the DV-1A to ensure it is done correctly and safely. For assistance locating a technician in your area, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent.

First I would remove the drier vent hose connected inside the house. I would then take a wire hanger and straighten it out. Take the wire hanger and insert it into the duct an feel for any obstruction. If there are any rotate the hanger against it and see if you can dislodge it. If that does not work the go outside and try the same thing. The other thing you can do is get a vacuum cleaner and insert the long suction attachment and try and clean out any debris. I also use a long wire brush that I used to clean the bottom vents on the refrigerator.

Thanks for the question. VRT (Vibration Reduction Technology) is used in Samsung's current line up of washing machines (including the WF220), but not dryers. Since dryers tumble at a much lower speed than washers, VRT would not be relevant for them.

Question

what voltage is this dryer?

I would presume its 240v-30A, as almost all electric dryers are, but I see it states that its 120v, which must be a typo. I am really interested in purchasing this dryer, and cannot download the manual.

Purpose of the indicator icons IMMEDIATELY above the dryer times of 20 min, 30 min, & 30 min ??

What are the meanings of the indicator icons IMMEDIATELY above the dryer times of 20 min, 30 min, & 30 min ??
We noticed the one of the left 'flashes' on occasion, but could find no explanation in the owners manual.
However, they are shown in the owners manual on page 20 between item #4 (for three other icons) and item #10 (for the mixed load bell button). However, there is no explanation given for them.

There are currently two models of Samsung pedestals that are compatible with the DV220AEW dryer: WE357A7W and WE357A0W. The latter has a new "Quick Install" system to make mounting the washer or dryer on top of the pedestal easier, though the pedestals themselves are the same.

Question

Drier doesn't heat

I checked the existing questions and the most common answer to the problem was a block in the duct. I had a brand new duct put in when I got my washer and drier. So I don't believe I have a block. When I go outside I can see the louvers on the vent moving so I believe there is airflow. I also had a new circuit pulled to my electrical box so I am pretty sure I have power. What else might cause the drier not to get warm?

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue with your DV220AEW. Besides the points you mentioned, please make sure the lint trap is clear and a heated dry cycle is selected. (Please forgive me for stating the obvious, but it is sometimes the obvious that is overlooked.) Also try cycling the power to the dryer by unplugging and replugging or turning the circuit breaker off then on again. If the problem persists, your dryer will likely require service. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Unlike the washing machine, which has shipping bolts which should be reinstalled when moving, the dryer does not have specific requirements. I would suggest taping or securing the door closed with a rope or belt, securing the cord (if applicable), and being careful not to scratch, dent, drop or jostle it too much.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue with your DV220 dryer. Please make sure the door is closed and latched completely. If the door is not closed properly, the dryer will not run. Check the lint filter to make sure there is no blockage of air which can prevent the dryer from operating properly. Try cycling the power to the dryer by unplugging/replugging or turn the circuit breaker off then on again. Reset the cycle and press the Start/Pause button.
