Question

My sensor dry adds significant time to the cycle after the initial period.

The dryer adds about 40 minutes to the dry time after the initial time. the clothes are dry after the initial time but the machine still adds more time. if let run the clothes come out hot. I have never let it run the total added time.
I have checked and cleaned the sensor dry bars and have had the vent system changed to full metal. neither has worked to resolve the problem

Thanks for the question. If you're unable to retrieve the loose coins from inside the dryer, and they've made their way outside the drum, Samsung recommends having a service technician assist in disassembling the dryer to remove the coins.

Question

dryer not operating, what can i do to trouble-shoot prior to calling service?

2 yrs old; no problems until now; i went into dryer and manually turned drum to try to find a piece of dryed clothing - a drying cycle had ended earlier. The drum provided a little resistance and I heard an unusual sound when I was able to manually rotate the drum. Everything seems normal when I attempt to use the dryer (eg. power on, indicators stating drying; controls work) but the dryer doesn't operate, that is heater go on and the drum rotate. Please help.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with the dryer. Please make sure the door is closed and latched completely. If the door is not closed properly, the dryer will not run. Check the lint filter to make sure there is no blockage of air which can prevent the dryer from operating properly. Try cycling the power to the dryer by unplugging/replugging or turn the circuit breaker off then on again. Reset the cycle and press the Start/Pause button. If the dryer still won't run, it may require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your dryer. If the dryer is not heating, make sure it's connected to a dedicated 30-amp power supply that is working properly, an appropriate heated dry cycle is selected and the lint filter and vents are not clogged. Try cycling the power by turning the circuit breaker off then on again. If it still won't heat, service may be necessary.

If it heats but the clothes are still wet or damp, please click here for troubleshooting suggestions: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If the issue persists, or you have determined that service may be necessary, please submit your contact information to our support team through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Samsung's electric dryers, including the DV219AEW/XAA, are designed to operate on a 220 volt supply and cannot be converted to operate on 120 volts instead. Samsung's gas dryers are designed for the lower voltage, however, but would also require a natural gas or liquid propane supply in order to heat.

Question

My DV219AEW is making a rhythmic dinging/clicking sound while operating.

The dryer is running fine, but during operation from time to time occurs a rhythmic ding sound that coincides with a click from the back of the unit, almost like an electronic switch clicking. It is NOT anything rolling around in the dryer. It will continue for long periods of time at a frequency of about 1 click/second. There are no dryer codes displayed.
Did this unit come with the mixed load bell? I cannot find any reference that answers this issue.

If your DV219AEW is blowing cold air, please make sure a heated drying cycle is selected then check the vents, lint filter and housing for blockage, since the most common cause of the dryer not heating is insufficient air flow. You should also make sure the dryer is plugged into a dedicated 30-amp power supply that is functioning properly. If you've checked each of these suggestions and the dryer still will not heat, it will require service. Thanks for the question. It's not unusual to hear an occasional clicking noise in the dryer, and these sounds are usually caused by items such as buttons or zippers in the dryer clicking against the drum. If you hear a clicking sound and there are no clothes in the dryer, check to see if something like a button or paper clip has come loose or fallen out of a pocket. The dryer, which is driven by a belt and motor, may make some noises when it tumbles even if there are no items inside, but if an unusual noise is persistent or becomes louder, or if the dryer is not performing properly, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can help determine whether your dryer would benefit from a service visit.

Yes, the power to the dryer would likely still work if only the belt needed to be replaced. If you've checked all of the items as you've stated, the power comes on but the drum will not turn, it will likely require service. While I can't tell you for certain that it's the belt, a technician would need to make that diagnosis, please keep in mind that belts are subject to wear and may need to be replaced periodically.

I'm sorry to hear your dryer is not heating. The most common cause of the dryer not heating is obstructed air flow from a clogged lint trap or vent ducts. Please check the vents for blockage.
