If your dryer drum is not turning, first make sure the machine is getting power and the door is closed securely. If the drum is overloaded with heavy, water-soaked clothes or towels, it may be putting too much strain on the drum causing the belt to slip. If this is the case, try reducing the load or returning the items to the washer for another spin cycle to extract more water.

If the problem still persists, it is likely that the dryer's belt needs to be replaced and will require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your DV209AEW. If the dryer is not heating, please check the vent ducts and lint filter and housing for blockage. Obstructions to air flow can prevent the dryer from heating or from running a full cycle. Try cycling the power by unplugging the dryer, or turn the circuit breaker off then on again; make sure the dryer is plugged into a dedicated 30-amp power supply that is functioning properly, and an appropriate heated dry cycle is selected.

If the dryer is getting hot, but is not drying the clothes completely when set on a Sensor Dry cycle, please follow the link below, then select "Troubleshooting ► Clothing And Laundry" and select the topic that most closely resembles what you are experiencing: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If, after reviewing the tips and information provided, you are still experiencing this issue, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

It was working fine with one load and then the next load there was no heat. I have cleaned out lint trap and vent duck. Still does not work. It is putting out cold air. I have not recieved any warning codes on the control panel. Could there be a blown fuse?

This sounds like a heating element has stopped working. Could be an internal fuse, or even the element itself. If the lint trap and outlet ducks are not constantly kept clean, then the heating element can actually overheat and burn itself out.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your dryer. Please make sure the door is closed and latched completely. If the door is not closed properly, the dryer will not run. Check the lint filter to make sure there is no blockage of air which can prevent the dryer from operating properly. Try cycling the power to the dryer by unplugging/replugging or turn the circuit breaker off then on again. Reset the cycle and press the Start/Pause button. Thank you for the question. The life expectancy of the dryer belt cannot be easily estimated because there are so many variables involved. Some of the factors besides amount of time used that would effect it include the size or weight of the load and the level of heat typically used in the dry cycle.

If your dryer is expelling cold air, please make sure a heated dry cycle is selected, or the cycle has not transitioned into the Wrinkle Prevent mode. In this mode, the dryer will continue to tumble for up to 90 minutes after the heated dry cycle is complete to help prevent wrinkles from setting in.

If a heated dry cycle is selected and the dryer is not heating at all, please check the vents for blockage and make sure the dryer is plugged into a dedicated 30-amp power supply that is functioning properly. If you've checked each of these suggestions and the dryer still will not heat, it will require service. Question

Dryer will not start, everything boots up, but when I press "start/pause", it makes a noise, like a motor trying to start, then system reboots.

It is not the belt, I went through the belt replacement process to find that I did not have to take the whole thing apart to verify the belt and switch could be checked easily by removing the metal cover at the back where the exhaust comes out. I even manually pressed the button and had someone else try and start the dryer and verified that pressing start with the switch pressed and the dryer does nothing, just displays the cycle info on display. As soon as I release the belt switch, it makes the motor starting sound, and reboots the display.

Thank you for the question. There is no "reset" for overheating in the DV209 dryer. I would suggest clicking on the link below then selecting "Troubleshooting ► > Dryer Is Hot To The Touch" for an explanation if you're concerned that your dryer feels hot on the outside: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If the dryer appears to be over-drying the clothes, try lowering the heat setting on the control panel. If these suggestions and explanations do not help to address your concern, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can help determine whether your dryer requires service.

I'm sorry to hear your DV209AEW is not heating. The most common cause of the dryer not heating is obstructed air flow from a clogged lint trap or vent ducts. Please check the vents for blockage. Other factors to check are to make sure the dryer is plugged into a dedicated 30-amp power supply that is functioning properly, and an appropriate heated dry cycle is selected. If you've checked each of these suggestions and the dryer still will not heat, it will require service. Question

why does dryer collect moisture in drum?

Answer this Question

answer 1
If your DV209AEW dryer is collecting moisture inside the drum, it is likely that there is insufficient air circulation. Typically, dryers use heat to evaporate the moisture in the clothes, which is then expelled from the dryer through the vents. If your lint trap or vents are clogged, the moisture has nowhere to go. I would suggest cleaning the lint screen and checking the lint trap housing and vents for blockage. If possible, stand outside next to the vent duct exit flaps while the dryer is running; if air is not blowing out freely, then there is probably a clog somewhere in the duct work. Samsung recommends cleaning the ducts periodically (at least once a year) to ensure adequate ventilation.
