I'm sorry to hear your DV209AEW is not heating. If you've already checked the lint filter and vents, then make sure the dryer is plugged into a dedicated 30-amp power supply that is functioning properly, and an appropriate heated dry cycle is selected. If you've checked each of these suggestions and the dryer still will not heat, it will require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

I'm sorry to hear your DV209AEW is not heating. The most common cause of the dryer not heating is obstructed air flow from a clogged lint trap or vent ducts. Please check the vents for blockage. Other factors to check are to make sure the dryer is plugged into a dedicated 30-amp power supply that is functioning properly, and an appropriate heated dry cycle is selected. If you've checked each of these suggestions and the dryer still will not heat, it will require service, and Samsung recommends having it serviced by a qualified technician. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit your contact information through the following link, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/o...

If you prefer to service it yourself, please visit SamsungParts.com or call 800-627-4368 for information and availability of parts and the service manual.

Question

What is the correct wire setup for a 3-prong setup? And do I need an additional grounding strap?

I just moved into a new place and now the connection is a 3-prong not a 4-prong. If you can send a picture that would be great or let me know what needs to be changed from the picture below. It looks like this in the instruction book. Thanks

Annual cost estimates are determined as part of Energy Star testing standards. The U.S. Department of Energy does not currently have a system for rating the efficiency of dryers, because they've found in the past that there is not a significant difference in energy use between models. They may reevaluate the need for such a program in the future. The high spin speeds available on Samsung washing machines, along with the Sensor Dry options on the dryers themselves, do help to reduce the amount of energy used to dry your laundry.

The DV220AEW and DV210AEW are very similar in terms of features and function, though they have a slightly different door design to match the aesthetics of the companion washing machine models, the WF220 and WF210.

If your dryer drum is not turning, first make sure the machine is getting power and the door is closed securely. If the drum is overloaded with heavy, water-soaked clothes or towels, it may be putting too much strain on the drum causing the belt to slip. If this is the case, try reducing the load or returning the items to the washer for another spin cycle to extract more water.

If the problem still persists, it is likely that the dryer's belt needs to be replaced and will require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your DV209AEW. If the dryer will not power on, please follow this link to open the Troubleshooting Guide, then select Power ► Dryer Will Not Power On: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If the power comes on but the drum will not turn, check to make sure the door is completely closed. Try removing the clothing and starting the dryer. If the dryer starts, the load may have been too heavy. Remove some items, or run them through another spin cycle in the washer if they're very wet.

If the drum still won't turn, your dryer will require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue with your DV209AEW. Besides cleaning the dryer vent ducts and lint trap, it may also help to check the power supply to ensure the dryer is getting enough power. Try cycling the power by unplugging the dryer, or switch the circuit breaker off then on again. If the dryer still won't heat, it will require service. Samsung recommends having it serviced by a qualified technician. For assistance locating an authorized service center in your area, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent.

Thank you for the question. There is no "reset" for overheating in the DV209 dryer. I would suggest clicking on the link below then selecting "Troubleshooting ► > Dryer Is Hot To The Touch" for an explanation if you're concerned that your dryer feels hot on the outside: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If the dryer appears to be over-drying the clothes, try lowering the heat setting on the control panel. If these suggestions and explanations do not help to address your concern, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can help determine whether your dryer requires service.
