Question

Error code "BE" continues to plague this expensive unit. I have to reset the breaker to clear the error. What is going on here?

This unit is about 5 months old. The BE error code displays about once a week. The unit will not clear the error without cycling the breaker off and on.

Question

Is there any way to fit this dishwasher into 33.75 inch height opening? Would removing the legs help?

I installed 3/4" hardwood floors in kitchen and have less space to install as a result.

If you remove the legs you will not be able to level the unit. The amount the legs protrude is only ~ a quarter inch when collapsed all the way. The part of the dishwasher that is behind the door would fit, but the door and the attachment brackets would not be able to get close enough to the cabinet to secure, so the dishwasher doesn't tilt when loading. Also if you take the legs off, you lessen the height of the channels that will contain the power and water lines. I had to modify the attachment brackets to fit my space, but height wasn't the issue. The only acceptable way I see would be to decrease the thickness of the counter above - my counter has enough depth to do that - would yours? Or replace the flooring only under the washer with tile or something that is not as thick.

Is there a 'rinse and hold' cycle?

I don't want to have to rinse the dishes before loading them into the dishwasher. Is there a way that the dishwasher will just rinse the dishes then hold them till I have a full load?

Thanks for the question. Using the Delay Start feature will cause the DMT800 to spray water on the dishes to help prevent food from drying on them.

Question

Will not restart without cutting power

I seem to have a problem others have indicated. Power to our dishwasher runs through a wall switch. Once a wash cycle has completed, another cannot be started without cutting the power off and then back on. Is this an item that needs service? I don't want to damage components with the power off/on cycles.

Thanks for the question. It should not be necessary to cycle the power to the dishwasher from the circuit in order to start a new cycle. I would suggest checking the electrical connections to the dishwasher. The DMT800RHS uses fan-assisted condensation drying rather than heated drying. This energy-efficient drying technology relies on the residual heat on the dishes to evaporate moisture which then condenses on the cooler stainless steel walls. The fans help to draw the moisture out through a chamber in the door where it evaporates into the air.

Please click on the following link then select "Usage ► > Explanation Of Condensing Dry Technology" for tips on optimizing the drying performance in your dishwasher: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

Question

Cleaning stainless

I bought an 800 series stainless dishwasher. From the first week, I've had drips that won't go away no matter how many times I clean it with a stainless cleaner spray. Is there a special cleaning agent I should be using? It's only a couple months old and I keep looking at those drips and feeling very disappointed.
Thanks

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble keeping your stainless steel dishwasher clean. If the stainless steel cleaner you're using isn't helping, try applying a small amount of baby oil or WD40 onto a clean, dry, lint free cloth and using it to polish the stainless surface.

If your dishwasher has an odor, it is probably caused by a small amount of water left over from the last wash cycle. If the dishwasher is not used on a regular basis, water can sit in the bottom of the dishwasher and cause an odor.

To remove odors, add a chlorine based detergent, and run the dishwasher empty for an entire cycle. Please click here to view a short video with additional tips for keeping the dishwasher clean and odor-free: http://support-us.samsung.com/spsn/...

Additionally, check your garbage disposal. Usually, the garbage disposal and dishwasher use the same drainage pipe. If you notice the same odor coming from your sink, chances are that the garbage disposal needs to be cleared. Lastly, it's important to make sure the drain hose is installed and raised correctly to help prevent dirty water from draining back into the dishwasher after the cycle is complete. See the attached image or refer to your user manual for more information.

Thank you,
Ms. Samsung

Thank you for your question. This particular error code indicates a functional error of a low water level. To try to correct the error, with the dishwasher empty, add detergent, and then run a cycle.

If the problem continues, go to your house circuit breaker panel, set the dishwasher’s circuit breaker switch to off, and then please contact us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, or if you want to come through a social media channel, we have a couple options for you:

If you have a Twitter account, go here or to this URL:

Question

Can I order new height adjustment parts for the upper rack? Both have broken.

Both parts that allow you to adjust the upper rack of the dishwasher have broken after less than 2 years (the clips snapped off). Is there a way to simply order new ones without having to a service-person come?

Thank you.

Question

Performance Issues

I having trouble with my new dishwasher. It does not appear to be cleaning well and produces a bad smell in between uses. No matter which setting I use most of the dishes come out with a film, especially plastic glassware and casseroles and the flatware and sometimes other dishes still have food particles. I have followed the appropriate loading instructions and reviewed all the troubleshooting tips provided. The nozzles do not appear to be clogged. I can't tell if the rinse aid is distributing properly. It does not appear to have gone down much in 6 or so weeks of use. Other than that, I am not sure what to try next. Is there anything else I can try before calling for service?

Thank you,
