It may also be necessary to wipe down the side and bottom edges of the door where food may drip or spill when the door is open, but which will not be cleaned by running the cycle when the door is closed.

If your dishes are not loading as recommended in the manual, due to their size or shape, I would suggest positioning them so they are not touching, have the greatest amount of exposure to water and detergent as it circulates, and do not obstruct the spray arms from turning. Fortunately, the DMT800 has groups of tines which can be tilted or even removed for the greatest degree of flexibility in loading your dishes.
