I'm sorry to hear of your concerns with your new DMT300 dishwasher. The wash cycle can take anywhere from 81 to 193 minutes depending on which cycle is selected, and wash time may vary depending on the water pressure, drain conditions, and temperature of the supplied water. Please refer to the attached Cycle Chart for more information on cycle selection and estimated wash times.

Following are some troubleshooting tips regarding the soap dispenser:

- Make sure you are not overfilling the soap dispenser. Only fill it up to or below the fill line.
- Check for a build up of soap residue in and around the soap dispenser. If residual soap builds up, it can cause the dispenser door to close improperly or stick. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the dispenser with warm water to remove residual soap build-up.
- If you are using any brand of "Tablet" soap, make sure the tablet is seated properly in the dispenser and the dispenser door closes properly.
- Check the load in the dishwasher. If a utensil is protruding from the rack, it may stick up in front of the dispenser and prevent the dispenser door from opening properly.

If you continue to have trouble with the soap dispenser not opening, please contact Samsung for service through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can further assist you.

Thank you for the question. The DMT300 like other Samsung dishwashers uses condensation drying technology, which is very effective in drying most dishes when it's used correctly and operating properly. Condensation drying uses the residual heat on the dishes to evaporate moisture, which saves energy compared to using a heated drying system. Please follow this link then select "Operation ► My Dishwasher Does Not Dry The Dishes Well" for suggestions, such as using a rinse aid, along with a further explanation of how condensation drying works: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

Question

Length of drain hose?

The installation guide for the DMT300 says the dishwasher "should be installed within 9.8 ft of the sink." However, the drain hose as delivered is only about 5 or 6 feet long. I noticed there is a large loop of what appears to be more drain hose hidden under the insulation on the left side of the dishwasher. Is that spare drain hose that can be pulled out, or must that loop remain as it is for proper operation of the dishwasher? The guide makes no mention of it and I didn't want to pull the drain hose for fear of breaking it.

I just installed mine a few weeks ago. The hose wrapped on the back and held by string is all you got. Cut the string and give it ago. Maintain the loop or you will have problems. I used stainless steel flex line for water and it worked great. It's hard to push the unit in and pull out the electric and water at the same time.
Go slow and get a long tool to pull then out as you push in.

Thank you for the question. The loop of hose you're referring to should not be disengaged; it is designed to prevent siphoning when your dishwasher drains. The portion of the drain hose that can be used for installation is approximately 5' long. I would suggest contacting your local home improvement or hardware store for assistance with the parts needed to extend the drain hose, as needed.

I'm getting an an over level water error and can operate the dishwasher only in delicate without getting this error. It's new and I installed myself. What could be the problem?

I'm sorry to hear you've had this issue with your dishwasher. If the leak occurred outside of the machine, then the digital leak sensor, which is located at the base of the dishwasher, would not have been able to detect it. I cannot tell you whether this was caused by damage to the drain hose incurred during installation or if there was another cause. I would suggest contacting service for assistance in determining the cause and correcting the issue. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

If the detergent dispenser door on your DMT300 dishwasher is not opening, please check the following:

- Make sure you are not overfilling the soap dispenser; only fill it up to or below the fill line.
- Check for soap residue around the edges of the soap dispenser, including the dispenser door and lock. Thoroughly clean all mating surfaces with warm water to remove any residual soap build-up which could cause the door to stick closed.
- If you are using "tablet" soap, make sure the tablet is seated properly in the dispenser so the door closes properly.
- Check the load in the dishwasher to make sure there are no utensils or other items protruding that could be preventing the door from opening.

If none of these tips resolve the issue for you, your dishwasher will require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Question

Why does the detergent powder clump up during wash cycle?

Detergent or detergent mini sac is placed in the dispenser and cover is then closed. A wash cycle is selected and start button is pressed. When wash is finished and the door is opened, the dispenser cover is opened but the detergent is still present and clumped or the sac has not been used. How can this be fixed?

If the detergent is not dispensing or dissolving properly during the dishwashing cycle, please check the following:

- Make sure you are not overfilling the soap dispenser; only fill it up to or below the fill line.
- Check for soap residue around the edges of the soap dispenser, including the dispenser door and lock. Thoroughly clean all mating surfaces with warm water to remove any residual soap build-up which could cause the door to stick closed and not open at the appropriate time during the cycle.
- When using "tablet" soap, make sure the tablet is seated properly in the dispenser so the door closes properly.
- Check the load in the dishwasher to make sure there are no utensils or other items protruding that could be preventing the door from opening, or blocking the hot water from reaching the dispenser.
- For best performance, make sure the supplied water is at the highest recommended temperature to dissolve detergent, especially tablets (but no higher than 120°F if there are children in the household to avoid scalding) and water pressure (20~120 psi).

If none of these tips resolve the issue for you, your dishwasher may require service. Please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

I'm sorry to hear you have mildew under the door of your DMT300. Samsung recommends cleaning the inside of the washer periodically by wiping it down and running empty cycles with detergent and the sanitize option, or with a glass of vinegar placed upright in the lower rack toward the end of the cycle to remove odors (see page 20 of the User Manual). However, this will not necessarily clean the edges of the door, where moisture and spills can invite mildew to grow. I would suggest wiping the area under the door and around the edges with a cleaning solution as part of your regular maintenance routine.

Question

If we hit the power button during a cycle, how do we turn it on and get the cycle to pick up again where we left off?

I know we can put the child lock on it to prevent hitting the power button, but if we accidentally hit the power button during a cycle, is there a way to get the cycle to pick up where it left off instead of starting the wash over? It sounds like it is draining and starting again if I simply turn it on and hit start again. Is there a way to set it so we cannot turn off the power?

Pressing the Power button will cause the dishwasher to display the last cycle completed, but will not allow you to start where you left off if the cycle had been interrupted. The Power button is the only one that can be selected when Child Lock is activated, so this would not prevent the dishwasher from being turned on or off during a cycle.
