Question

HE code flashing...again...

Less than two years after we purchased this dishwasher, the HE code started flashing and the heating element (I believe) had to be replaced. Two days ago the HE code started flashing again. It started directly after our power was knocked out by a car accident, and I didn't know if that would have caused a short, or if there was a way to reset the dishwasher, or if it would actually need to be replaced again. I tried to run it without dishes in it, and that didn't change anything. I'm very disappointed, as EVERY appliance we own is Samsung, and this is the only lemon. It's been one problem after the other, and if it does need service we will be replacing it with a non-Samsung version.

As you have already tried this, I'm very sorry; it seems that your device may need servicing. Question

Replacement parts

I need to replace the plastic piece that goes on the top rack. It has 6 "clips" that hold it in place and all of mine are broken off on one side and the other has one or two.

I'm including a photo of the broken piece and the one still attached, but having the same problem. Also, one that will show you the dishwasher is practically new.

It is only my husband and me, so our usage is probably below average. It bothers me that a dishwasher costing over $1,000 has such poorly made parts. Mine is only 2 years old...

Thank you,

Lynne Woodson

Question

Have the plastic tabs on the upper rack adjuster been improved since 2010?

We are replacing this dishwasher because it is under warranty and the upper rack adjuster has broken 4 times since we purchased it. I would like to replace it with the same as it matches my other kitchen appliances. If this problem still exists, do you recommend another model that does not have this problem with similar specs?
Thank you.

They have changed but not improved enough! The tabs that hold the upper rack broke on both sides within the first year. One time the plastic parts blocked the drain and required a service call. We ordered and replaced both of them and noticed that there was a small plastic strut on the side of the tabs that was not on the original. We thought that the problem of breaking tabs had now been solved. Today I pulled out the upper rack and it fell on one side. The two bottom tabs had broken off! Here we go again!

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

We have conferred with our resident home appliance expert and he says if the buzzing could also be described as a grinding sound, it means that something is most likely caught in the sump and this would require service.

If you have any additional feedback you can provide on this issue, we recommend you email us at qasupport@sea.samsung.com. Please provide a brief description of your product issue, as well as the product model, serial number and your contact info.

Question

Bracket tabs causing grinding noise?

I have noticed that several people have mentioned that the pieces of the bracket tabs that break off easily can cause a grinding noise in the dishwasher. I am having this issue - my left bracket has no tabs left and I have a terrible grinding noise. I do not want to pay for a technician to come out and fish these out of the dishwasher. It just doesn't seem fair to give Samsung more money to fix damage caused by their own design flaw. Does anyone think I can find the tab pieces on my own and silence the dishwasher?

Thank you for your question. Trying to fix this problem yourself will void your warranty because of where you need to access and clean out. If you want the technician to come out instead, please contact us at 1-800-SAMSUNG, or if you want to come through a social media channel, we have a couple options for you:

If you have a Twitter account, go here or to this URL:

Question

9E error

We continue to get the 9E error on our dishwasher that is less than 2 years old. When I asked about his previously, it was suggested that I try running the dishwasher empty. That works. It repeatedly works. With no dishes everything is fine. With dishes, we get the error. Why is this happening? Are we wrong to assume that we can put dishes in the dishwasher?

I am having the same issue. I found that a gasket in the bottom of the dishwash that was factory installed is too large and is allowing water to seep into the drain system. Again Samsung wants to do nothing to a dishwasher that is 6 months out of warranty and poorly built. I should have gone with the American product that costs half as much and has a drying system that actually got the plastic dry.

I'm sorry to hear you're having a problem with your DMT300. Please check the installation, door seals, kick plate, and water spray arms inside the dishwasher to determine if a part has become loose and is vibrating. If the buzzing is accompanied by flashing lights on the control panel, please refer to the list of Information Codes on page 25 of the user manual. If you're still unable to locate the source of the buzzing and it is not related to an Information Code, please submit your contact information to our support team through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Question

Have there been any recalls on parts? What are you doing about the low quality of plastic that is used inside?

Several of the plastic pieces that hold the racks in place have broken off...some have gone into the drain area and have caused a grinding noise....small but important pieces. If one more small part comes off the piece that holds my upper rack, it will no longer remain attached on the left side!!!!

Thank you for the question. Please refer to the Cycle Chart in the user manual for the temperature ranges during different portions of each cycle, and select the appropriate setting for the items you're washing. It may also help to protect particularly sensitive items by placing them on the top rack, and check the care instructions for the items you're washing to make sure they're dishwasher-safe.

I'm sorry to hear your dishes are not coming clean. It seems you've followed most of the troubleshooting suggestions, though I wonder if you've checked to make sure the detergent is dispensing properly. In addition, there have been government-mandated changes made to detergents in recent years that can cause dishes to appear "cloudy". Please click on the following link then select "Troubleshooting ► > Cleaning Performance" for more information: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If these suggestions and explanations don't help to alleviate your concern or resolve the issue, please submit your contact information to our support team through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.
