I am having the same issue. I found that a gasket in the bottom of the dishwash that was factory installed is too large and is allowing water to seep into the drain system. Again Samsung wants to do nothing to a dishwasher that is 6 months out of warranty and poorly built. I should have gone with the American product that costs half as much and has a drying system that actually got the plastic dry.

I'm sorry to hear you're receiving a 9E error code on your DMR78 dishwasher. This code indicates a Low Water Level error. Try running a cycle with detergent but no dishes. If the code returns, service may be necessary to determine the cause and correct it. Please submit your contact information to our support team through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Please try the following steps to set up the Delay Start on your DMR78AHS dishwasher. If, after following these instructions, you are still unable to use the Delay Start option, please call (800) SAMSUNG for assistance.

Select the desired Cycle and Options for the load. Press the Delay button until the desired time is reached (i.e. 2H, 3H) in one-hour increments for up to 24 hours. The Delay indicator and the display will flash. Press the Start/Cancel button to begin counting down the delay time. The cycle should automatically start as soon as the time expires.
To cancel a delay, press the Delay button during the count-down process.
To cancel a delay and a cycle, press Start/Cancel once to drain and turn off the dishwasher or Press Start/Cancel twice to turn dishwasher off without draining. Note that you can select options (Sanitize, or Delay Start) before starting a cycle; but if you change the cycle after selecting an option, the original cycle is reset.

Question

SE code Error

I've had this unit a week. I first got this SE "drain error" upon installation. Made sure the drain hose was not crimped and tripped the breaker to reset the machine. Unit worked fine. Awesome, must have been the hose upon installation. Two or three cycles the next week the Error "SE" has returned. Noted standing water inside machine. I pulled the unit from under the counter, put the drain hose nice and straight into the sink, reset the breaker again and still error SE. Hose is clean machine is new. Circuit errors? Bad machine? Thanks Bill.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. It is possible that soap residue has built up in the dispenser, preventing it from opening automatically during the wash cycle. I would suggest rinsing the dispenser out with warm water. Additional troubleshooting suggestions are available through this link, then select Operation > Detergent Is Not Dispensing Properly: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If these suggestions do not correct the issue, your dishwasher may require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

New dishwasher has started to make fairly loud noise in drain mode.

Noise sounds like something in the pump impeller, such as a metal or plastic object. Only does it when it is in drain mode. Quite a clatter. Is there something I can check or should I arrange a service call?

Thank you for the question. As an alloy, stainless steel uses a combination of different types of metal. Though many stainless steel kitchen appliances are made of non-magnetic stainless steel, those that are magnetic likely use a grade of stainless that contains less nickel, which is a common non-magnetic component.

I'm not sure what you mean to do by "resetting" the dishwasher. If you've selected options and wish to clear them and "reset" the controls, you can simply select another cycle. If you wish to "reset" the power, you can cycle your circuit breaker off then on again.

If you are having issues which require assistance, please start by checking the Troubleshooting Guide through the following link: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If this does not resolve your issue, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you further.

There should be at least .1" clearance on each side between the dishwasher and the walls. If the dishwasher is going to be installed in a corner, then there should be 2" of clearance between the dishwasher and the longer wall. The DMR78AHS measures 23-7/8" (w) x 24-3/4" (d) x 33-7/8" (h).

Thank you for the questions. I'm not aware of plans to "upgrade" the DMR78AHS, though a new Samsung dishwasher, the DMT300 was recently released. This new model has many of the same features as the DMR78, including the hidden heating element, hard food disposer, and digital leak sensor, as well as quiet 51 dBA operation. In addition, the DMT300's efficient fan-driven condensation drying will be enhanced by air vents to aid drying. Like the DMR78 and many other dishwashers on the market, Samsung recommends using a rinse aid, such as JetDry, to aid drying.

Keep in mind that some customers may post issues on the internet prior to employing some of the tips and tricks that can be found by reading the User Manual, and the FAQs and Troubleshooting pages on this website. Therefore, for a more complete perspective, I would suggest downloading a pdf of the User Manual, and perusing the Support section on Samsung.com before drawing any conclusion.

We appreciate your interest and consideration!
