Questions & Answers for samsung 24" Dishwasher

Question

what color is platinum ?

I see two different colors on refrigerators that are platinum.

How do you clean? Do they get finger prints and scratches like stainless?

Are the black refrigerators textured or shiny?

Stainless Platinum is Samsung's stainless-look finish which resembles stainless steel but is fingerprint-resistant, magnetic and easy to clean with soap and water or other mild cleaner. Any finish can scratch, but Platinum is painted then coated for protection.

Samsung's black refrigerators are smooth and shiny on the front, and textured on the sides.

Question

What if you don't have a disposal and don't want one?

The specs say that this dishwasher hooks up to your disposal so no pre rinsing is needed. I don't have a disposal and don't want one. How does that work with this machine? Would it be an issue?

The DMR78AHB has its own hard food disposer with stainless steel blades for self-cleaning and a triple filtration system, so there's no need to have another disposer to hook it up to. This feature adds to the convenience of having a dishwasher, because it reduces the need to rinse your dishes before placing them in the dishwasher. According to Energy Star, pre-rinsing can use up to 20 gallons of water; therefore, not having to pre-rinse can save time, energy and money.

Cycle times may vary depending on the water pressure, drain conditions, and temperature of the supplied water. To optimize the efficiency of the dishwasher, the proper pressure of the supplied water should be 20~120 psi, and the temperature should be 120˚F.

Question

Into what part of the dispenser does the rinse aid go? The big open space or into the little hole?

I poured the rinse aid into the large area of the dispenser. It flowed out from where it attaches to the machine and the fill dispenser light stays on. I used a small opening in my Kenmore, so I'm wondering if I'm using the wrong opening. The picture in the manual does not make this clear.

There are a number of factors that can effect the dishwasher's cleaning performance and cause spots or a film to be left on the dishes, including overloading, using too much or not enough detergent, or low water pressure and temperature. I would suggest reviewing the relevant troubleshooting tips on page 24 of the user manual (see attached image for your convenience). Additional information can be found by clicking on the following link then selecting "Troubleshooting ► > Cleaning Performance": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with the soap dispenser on your new DMR78AHB. Please click on the link below then select "Troubleshooting ► > Cleaning Performance ► > Detergent Is Not Dispensing Properly": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

I would also suggest checking your water pressure and temperature to ensure they are set correctly to effectively dissolve the detergent and clean the dishes. The supplied water pressure should be between 20 and 120 psi, and the temperature should be at least 120˚F.

If these suggestions do not help to resolve the issue, please use the service request link provided in the troubleshooting article for further assistance.

Thank you for the question. Samsung's dishwashers use a condensation drying method which helps to save energy, and is very effective if used properly. For best results, a rinse aid like Jet-Dry Turbo Dry is recommended. For more information on getting the best results from your DMR78's condensation drying technology, please click on the link below then select "Troubleshooting ► > My Dishwasher Does Not Dry The Dishes Well ► > Explanation Of Condensing Dry Technology": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...
