Question

DMR57LTS 5E code, drain hose NOT kinked nor clogged. Help with rubber flapper in pump housing.

Our dishwasher worked fine for a year or so, but, now won't finish a cycle and displays the 5E error code, I've checked the drain hose and it's OK, I've taken the pump out of the housing and found a small, round piece of black plastic bouncing around in there. The rubber flapper valve, inside that housing looks to be ok but, out of place, is there a parts diagram or pics to show me what this is supposed to look like and what it's funtion is? Thank you.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue with your DMR57LFS. The user manual's suggestion to "check the fuse" is in reference to homes with a fuse box as opposed to circuit breakers. If you've attempted all the troubleshooting suggestions offered, as you've stated, and the dishwasher still isn't operating properly, it will likely require service. I would suggest calling 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

I'm sorry to hear you have some stains on the door of your dishwasher. There are a number of products available at your local appliance, hardware, home improvement or even grocery store specifically designed to clean real stainless steel. Simply follow the instructions on the package. Another option is to apply a small amount of baby oil or even WD40 to the stainless finish using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. This will not only clean the stainless steel, but can help prevent fingerprints from recurring and even remove water marks.

Question

My DMR57LFS continues to have a clunking sound despite the fact that I've made sure the nozzles are not touching the plates or silverware.

The problem persists even with nothing at all inside the unit except the racks. I've diagnosed the problem down to the lower nozzle assembly knocks against the bottom most molded plastic piece which extends along the bottom, up the rear wall, and to the remaining nozzles.

What can I do to remedy this issue?

Things I've done:
1. Insured the DMR57LFS is level both left to right and front to rear.
2. I've also removed the nozzle and see no clogs or damage the may account for it knocking the molded bottom piece.

Please provide further suggestion as to how to remedy this issue. Thanks.

I'm sorry to hear your dishwasher is showing the SE drainage error code. While using the drain option may help as a temporary fix, the cause of a drainage error may reside in the drain pipes or connections. Samsung recommends checking the drain hose for clogs or kinks that could cause an obstruction. If the problem continues, disconnect the circuit breaker and contact a service center. Thanks for the question. The steam that you're noticing at the end of the cycle is a result of the heated water during the wash cycle. For best performance, the temperature of the supplied water should be 120˚F, and the internal heater will boost the temperature as needed depending on the cycle selection and phase. The DMR57LFS and other Samsung dishwashers use a condensation drying method rather than heated drying, relying on the residual heat on the dishes to evaporate the water.
