Looking for Answers about samsung CLX-8380ND/XAA?

I just purchased this printer/copier and I am giving it a thorough going over before turning it loose on the user community. It has a manufacture date of May 2008 and I Firmware Version V2.01.00.89 08-06-2009, and I am guessing that an updated Firmware is available for this four (4) year old machine. I don't find one on the download pages. Am I missing something? Maybe I shouldn't worry about it as the printer seems to be working perfectly.

Just wondering if there is a plan to update the system firmware so that it supports SSL configuration in "Email Setup". SSL would allow the "Scan to Email" feature to work when Gmail/Google is used as the primary email provider. The current implementation of SMTP only, will only scan to email users on the Gmail/Google App network. No emails are deliverable to domains not hosted by Google.

Tried to register device, but you did not have CLX-8540ND available as a model, so I had to register with the closest model number (CLX-8380ND). Need to update selections on the make/model pull-down menus. Thank you.

I have tried the power cycle, and press the power button.
But the 8380 DN has no power button, in the controll area.
It has a on / off switch by the power plug.
On the controll pannel it has a Start, Stop, Power saver, Clear All, and Interrupt buttons.
This unit was in storage for some time.
As far as I know it only needed toner when it went into storage.
When I rolled it out yesterday It powers on it seems to go through the normal boot up.
I can access the web portal on the copier, through the IP, NIC.
The large display is back lit, but no text display.
Any suggestions?
