I have a laser printer CLP 300. The black toner fades on the left side and thru the middle. How can I fix problem The black toner level still showed it had about 25% left. I bought another one to see if it would fix problem .. it did not.

I was updating the drivers,

and also the flash software, the power went out. And killed the flash update. The printer now does not work. Is there a way to reset to factor settings?

Something similar happened to me and I thought I had lost the printer as the light just kept going red after I switched it on. The instructions say to hold the stop button down as you switch but this did not help. In desperation/frustration I repeatedly pushed the stop button as I switched it on and I noticed that it took a few seconds to go red. So I got the firmware ready, did the same again at startup and pushed the firmware out to the printer before it could register a fail. Since then it has worked fine.

I hope you have not thrown the printer away as it might be worth a try.

Unfortunately the printer will need service if it was interrupted during a firmware update.

The printer is not designed to need oiling; if you are hearing constant squeaking then an internal part such as one of the rollers may be wearing out.

Here is how I was able to fix it:
1. Go into the Smart Panel | Printer Setting
2. Click on Graphic in the left box and then click on "Color Adjustment"
3. This will open up the "Manual Color Adjustment" Window
- Click on "Printer Default"
- Click on Apply
- Click on Close
4. Click on Exit
5. Try printing (make sure you go into the Graphic tab in printer properties and have it set to print in color )

Try taking a cotton cloth wet with plain water, take out the paper tray and wash the black rubber feeding disk in the middle of the back. It is easy accessible by just lifting the machine up to show the open bottom of the machine. The piece is about 1" wide and I think it gets paper residue on it and then will not pick up the paper. Just use water nothing else.

How can I get back my popup window that shows ink amount and problems and where to reorder?

When printer was loaded on my computer that runs windows 7, it has a popup help window that appears when printing so you can see what the issue is or how much ink you have or where to reorder, but I just connected the clp-300 to my work pc which runs vista and the window is missing. my printer has a red light and I cant figure out why without the help window.

When the status LED is flashing red, it means there is some minor error(i.e. the front door isn't latched shut, paper is jammed, etc) or the toner is getting low.

Double click on Smart Panel (the blue S in the task bar...it's installed with the driver) and it will tell you what the error is. For future reference, you can download the manual at our support site: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/CLP-300

Since you are using Windows 7, the printer driver currently installed in the computer may not be compatible with the Windows 7 platform. At this point, you may visit the website and download the driver set that is compatible with Windows 7 Operating System and then install accoridng to the instructions.

Alternatively, you may ask for a windows 7 OS compatible driver set from your printer supplier.

Question

Print Quality and Paper Jams

The prints from my CLP-300 are very light through the center portion of a page (8.5 x 11) when printing in black text, even after replacing all cartridges. Removed drivers and re-installed. Fuser life 2885 pages, transfer roller 1711 pg, tray1 roller 1812 pg, total image count 5410. Put in service 2007-12-03. Also, I can print a single page most of the time, but if I have a multiple page document I get 3 or 4 pages then I get a message there is a paper jam. Sometimes it has not even pulled the paper out of the tray, other times it has pulled it in about 1/3 and stops. If I open the back and shut, it will eject the paper. I might do this for 6 to 10 times then it will start printing ok again. What should I do??????????

Why does my printer keep jamming?

My CLP-300 keeps jamming. I have followed all of the suggestions for preventing jams but they keep occurring. The paper gets pulled approximately 1-2 inches then stops.I usually have to pull out the paper and open/close the printer 8-10 times before the paper will go fully through the printer and print my document. Any suggestions?
