Monitor Strange Screen Timeout

Have a samsung series 9, 15inch, 64 bit.

I am connected to the C24A650X via usb 3.0.

After using just the monitor for 20-60 minutes, the screen freezes, but I can move the mouse around just fine!?!??!?! What on earth is going on? I will then open the lid to the computer, and everything works fine on the laptop screen, then i'll shut the lid again, the monitor will then kick in after 5 seconds, and same problem, mouse moves but nothing in the background works.

Very very frustrating. Basically only usable using HDMI at right now.

Any suggestions! Thank you

We're sorry to hear you're encountering this issue. Based on your explanation, it sounds the laptop is set to go into sleep mode when the lid is closed. Please refer to the following troubleshooting article to change those settings.

Question

Received a new Central Station CA650. Why is it so slow to move windows?

Also, it blue screens the PC (Windows 7) when using USB wireless.
