I’m sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your Blu-ray player.

I’d recommend trying to reset the unit by turning the unit on and making sure that the disc tray is empty. Then, press and hold the STOP button until the unit resets. Then, go through the initial setup and power down the unit. Then, try and restart the unit, enter in your wired or wireless credentials, and you should have proper operation.

Question

Firmware Updates?

Since the last firmware update, when the disc tray is opened and a new disc is inserted, sometimes the player still reads as "open" on the LED readout. When this happens, it will usually work normally. However, other times, it won't respond to the remote and I will have to reboot the player to get it to respond. Will there be further firmware updates for this BRD player?

No, Netflix and the other apps can work with a wired connection if you connect your Blu-ray player to router with ethernet cable.

If you want to use the Blu-ray player wirelessly, you will need the Samsung WIS09ABGN LinkStick only. Other wireless LAN adapters will not work.

Firmware Upgrades!

I can not get the firmware upgrade to work. I cant unzip and change to ruf! Why is it in zip and change to ruff? I dont have a program to unzip it and I cant play any newer Blu rays?

Go to CNET and get a free unzip utility. File must be in ruf format and be only file on USB drive for upgrade to work.

Unfortunately, there isn't enough detail in this post to be able to assist.

For general networking questions, you may want to contact your modem/router's customer service, as often times, wireless or networking issues can be a result of router or modem settings. This is always the recommended place to start.

After contacting your router's manufacturer, you might also call 800-SAMSUNG to see if one of our customer service agents can assist, but we can't be responsible for people's networks or assisting with router settings, firewalls or security - all those must be performed by your router manufacturer's customer service.

Also, if your product doesn't include a wireless feature, the WIS09ABGN LinkStick (for 2009, 2010 and 2011 products) is the only supported Wireless Device for your Samsung TVs and Blu-Ray/Home Theater systems.

Upon launching the Netflix App, you should receive a prompt with a code.

That code needs to be entered on the Netflix website at:

www.netflix.com/activate
or
www.netflix.com/samsung

Once the code is entered, the player is activated as a device on your account.

unable to play DVD's or BlueRay

Suddenly our player rejects playing any disc we put in. I have tried multiple discs multiple times. Receive message 'disc cannot be played'. I have tried removing the power for a few minutes, to no avail. Any suggestions?

We recommend you apply the latest firmware to the player if you have not already done so. The most recent update was released on 7/5/2012. Please choose one of the methods in the support article below to update the firmware, though if the player is connected to your home network, the OTN option is the fastest.

Question

Have problems streaming Netflix movies lately

For the last three weeks I have been experienced problems streaming movies from Netflix. Start OK, but after a minute or so, I get a message that my quality is poor. I have this player for several months I I never had this problem before. The problem is not with my Wifi because I can stream the same movie with my Ipad without any problems. I have checked if I need a revised firmware, but the message is that my firmware is up-to-date. I also have checked all the connections and they are OK. What else can I do? Please help me.

Update Firmware

The BD-P3600 continues to have 4 Apps total. New players have more features and additional memory for the new SmartApp interface that allows you to choose Apps.

Unfortunately, that feature isn't available for the BD-P3600.

How can I add Amazon instant movies via our dvd play or tv?

Our dvd play has Netflix, Pandora, youtube, and Blockbuster available. We are Amazon Prime members which allows us to down load free programs. Is there a way of doing that with our BD-P3600A dvd player. By the way, we have the play connected to a Samsung un32b6000vf televsion. Thank you.

At the time of this posting, Amazon Prime is not available on the BD-P3600, and there are not any plans that I'm aware of that will be bringing Amazon to this model. Amazon would have to write the App for their service.
