I was just advised by Tech Support that you could not. I would think that you could use an access point since you will hardwire into the player.

Question

The Blu-Ray disc "Salt" will not play.

My player says it has the latest software update. The Blu-Ray loading bar goes more than 3/4 of the ways and then freezes. All other Blu-Rays play perfectly. Other users online seem to have the same problem so it seems unlikely this is a disc problem. Is there a new software update coming soon?

I had the same problem also with the movie "Salt" and with one other one. But several others worked just fine. My machine said that everything was up to date. So I assumed it was the disc. But I put it in our other Bluray player in the kitchen and it worked just fine. I finally looked on the support page online and it said that there was a firmware update from 12/1/2010, which is newer than my former firmware version. So I manually updated it using a USB drive to copy it to the Blu-ray player. Everything works fine now. I have no idea why the player couldn't find the more recent update directly.

Go to your Netflic account and Manage Netflix Ready devices and computers, Deactivate your device. Perform a reset on your player, by holding down the Fast Forward button >>| untill it says RESET in the window, about 10 seconds. I had to do it a couple of times before it reset, so be patient.

After the reset is done you will need to go through the menu and customize your settings, Language, clock, ect., because you have returned it to factory conditions.

Push the red button and get a new key from netflix. Then back to netflix account and click on activate a device, enter your new key and wher Netflix recognizes the key you are back in business.

If you receive any of the following error messages, follow the steps below to resolve this issue.

Error: Your Netflix Keys Have Been Hacked
Error: Your ESN Has Been Hacked
Error: DRM Is Corrupt

This does NOT pose a threat to your player or network security and will be corrected with the next firmware upgrade

1.Unplug the player's power cord from the wall.
2.Hold down the player's power button for 10 Seconds
3.Plug the power cord back in.

In most cases, the steps above will resolve the issue, however you may need to reset the player. Resetting the player will revert all settings back to factory default which means you will have to reconfigure your network settings.

1.Turn the player on and with no disc in the player, press and hold the FF button on the front panel until the player turns off.
2.Follow the instructions for language selection.

If this does not resolve your problem, please contact Samsung Customer Care at 1-800-SAMSUNG (800-726-7864).

Question

How do I update BD-P2550?

When I put a new Blu-ray disc in the BD-P2550 it says that an update is needed to play this disc. When visiting Samsung's website, I find a lot of different downloads, none of which seem to help update this machine. Is there a step by step guide how to update this? Which update do I actually need?

This is done from the player itself and it has to be connected to the internet. From the settings options go to system and you will find an option for software. Select that and walk through the process.

If you haven't updated your firmware, I'd recommend trying that first.

You also might try deactivating and then reactivating your player on your Netflix account. You can do this by logging into your Netflix account on the www.Netflix.com website and choosing to deactivate your player. Once you players deactivated, you can log off on the website and launch the Netflix app again. You be prompted to enter a new code into the www.Netflix.com/activate website and you should be able to pull up your Netflix queue.

If you need additional assistance, you may need to reach out to our customer service Center at 800-SAMSUNG.

Both of those features would be dependent on the App owner (in this case, Netflix) adding those options to the menu in the Netflix software.

Netflix would be able to better address questions concerning specific App functionality.

You may have limited options, as the Pandora app is designed to play back channels, or can create new channels. The profile accessibility may be limited.

Naturally, this functionality can change as Pandora changes or improves their app.

If you has specific suggestions or requests for future upgrade features, contact them by e-mailing them at their Pandora–support@Pandora.com e-mail address.

I’m sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your Blu-ray player.

I’d recommend trying to reset the unit by turning the unit on and making sure that the disc tray is empty. Then, press and hold the FF>> button until the unit resets. Then, go through the initial setup and power down the unit. Then, try and restart the unit and you should have proper operation.

If you still continue to experience difficulty, I would recommend contacting the Samsung customer service center, and speaking to one of our chat agents at the following link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/

Or you can also call them directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

We appreciate your support of Samsung products, and we look forward to assisting you.
