Replacement remotes for Samsung products can be obtained at the www.samsungparts.com website.

Other options, such as universal remotes, can also be used as replacements, but may not have all the functions of the original remote.

needs update

I put in a Blu-raydisk it told me I needed an update. I downloaded the update from this site. Updated the player and the Blu-raydisk still tells me I need an update. What is wrong?

Some discs have that warning no matter what update or player it is played in.

In most cases, you can bypass this message by pressing the FF>> button or by skipping to the next chapter of the Blu-Ray title.

UPDATE 2.19 BROKEN

WHY can't Samsung provide an "update" that FIXES the problems, instead of creating MORE? I have v2.19 and now I cannot play ANY regular DVD, and my Blu-Ray discs are having problems too...WHY????????????

I’m sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your Blu-ray player. It sounds like the update process didn't complete successfully, but there's good news. This may be able to be easily fixed.

I’d recommend trying to reset the unit by turning the unit on and making sure that the disc tray is empty. Then, press and hold the STOP button until the unit resets. Then, go through the initial setup and power down the unit. Then, try and restart the unit and you should have proper operation.

Question

Why won't sound play on external speakers?

Hello, When I am using BD Wise and on something like Youtube the sound plays through my external speakers just as do my DVD's and TV, but when I am on TV apps like Explore 3D I have to take sound off external speakers and change to TV speakers. I do not understand why since the other BlueRay features play with the external speakers. Thank you, Bryan

How do I connect to the internet?

When I bought this blu-ray player from Best Buy, one of the employees told me that the equipment necessary for internet connection was already installed into the machine. Was that correct? Is it unnecessary to buy and hook up a wireless router because there's already one built in?

That information is not complete.

The Samsung WIS09ABGN Linkstick is necessary for wireless connectivity. (Wired is also possible).

The WIS09ABGN LinkStick can be purchased at the retailer you specified, and should probably have been suggested as part of the sale.

Some models have it built in, but the BD-P1600 is not one of them.

Once that is complete, before you do anything else, we recommend you perform a firmware update. The most recent update for your model was issued on 7/5/2012. i've connected wirelessly with samsung lan adapter to netflix, youtube, and pandora but blockbuster says "store temporarily unavailable"? What to do?

The samsung adapter is for models 2010-2012 could this be the reason blockbuster does not connect? wrong adapter? or is it b/c of my 2009 model? I noticed on blockbuster on demand online website that the activate a device was only offered on blu rays 2010, 2011, 2012. Does this mean my 2009 will not connect?

Given the information you provided about the service only being compatible with certain players, we think it's safe to assume this is the issue. We also did a keyword search using your player's model number on the Blockbuster On Demand help page and it turned up no results.

Question

P1600 and Netflix

Really having some issues streaming Netflix at night and really can't narrow it down. Seem to get decent Netflix in the afternoon, but at night it just keeps rebuffering every few minutes. So we started the same movie on a laptop and the Samsung P1600 (connected to a Samsung TV). The service through the laptop was flawless and the TV getting the signal from the 1600 kept buffering usually with downgrade of the quality every few minutes. I've reset the 1600 and reset the connection, with no luck. It does have the latest firmware updates. We were somewhat thinking of getting the Samsung EM57C, but not sure it would better the problem.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. As you have already completed the troubleshooting steps we would have suggested, I can only suspect an ISP issue. You may take issue with this, as the laptop works fine, but PCs connect to one cluster of servers and all the other devices connect to another cluster. So it could be that you're experiencing so throttling. If after you contact your ISP, the problem persists, contact us at qasupport@sea.samsung.com and we'll consider some additional possibilities. Cannot complete Firmware Upgrade

Completed all steps of Firmware Upgrade via USB Flash Drive & unit powered down. Upon powering back up screen asked for Language Selection and unit will not except numeral input and will not function beond this point. Cannot select language. How do I fix this??

BD-P1600 freezes/won't play movies since latest update

Since this is a known issue (see message board), I would like to know what Samsung is going to do for all the customers that now have useless blu-ray players. Please do not tell me to unplug/restart player (I've done that - it still doesn't work# and please do not tell me to call for servicing - this is an issue with the system - not my unit. I would like a resolution to this issue for me and all of the other owners, or else I will be contacting my states attorney general about a consumer complaint #remember the class action Apple had when their update broke alot of iPhones)?
