Question

i've connected wirelessly with samsung lan adapter to netflix, youtube, and pandora but blockbuster says "store temporarily unavailable"? What to do?

The samsung adapter is for models 2010-2012 could this be the reason blockbuster does not connect? wrong adapter? or is it b/c of my 2009 model? I noticed on blockbuster on demand online website that the activate a device was only offered on blu rays 2010, 2011, 2012. Does this mean my 2009 will not connect?

Given the information you provided about the service only being compatible with certain players, we think it's safe to assume this is the issue. We also did a keyword search using your player's model number on the Blockbuster On Demand help page and it turned up no results.

Log into the current Netflix account that your player is linked to (on the Netflix website) via a computer and select "Deactivate the device". Once that's done, LOG OUT of the account. Now, run the Netflix App on the Blu-Ray player. It will ask for a new code. Log into the new account you want to use, and then go to http://www.netflix.com/Activate **while logged in with the new account**. Enter the code from the screen into the webpage, and your player should reflect the queued titles in your player.

Question

Odd Question

I have 2 bluray players, Samsung BD1500 and 1600. They are relatively old and are not without glitches from time to time...

With all that being said, I got The Condemned on bluray this weekend, popped it into the 1600 and the player has a hard time reading the disc at the very beginning of the first trailer resulting in freezing or pixelating but it quickly fixing itself with all other previews and the film itself without glitch.

Now on the 1500, said glitch isn't there at all.

Had some free time and thought it was firmware, so upgraded but still glitch is there on 1600 but not 1500.

Like I said, it literally only happens while loading the beginning of the first trailer and it corrects itself never to have issue again.

Not a disc issue as it depends if glitch is there due to player.

What do you think? Should I worry? Never experienced said issue before and like I said only happens on the part of the disc I can't care any less for. Firmware didn't fix it, no scratches on the disc...

The latest firmware update for this player was issued on 7/5/2012, but since you mentioned the firmware is up-to-date, we would recommend you consider a reset of the P1600 to see if that resolves the issue.

Question

P1600 and Netflix

Really having some issues streaming Netflix at night and really can't narrow it down. Seem to get decent Netflix in the afternoon, but at night it just keeps rebuffering every few minutes. So we started the same movie on a laptop and the Samsung P1600 (connected to a Samsung TV). The service through the laptop was flawless and the TV getting the signal from the 1600 kept buffering usually with downgrade of the quality every few minutes. I've reset the 1600 and reset the connection, with no luck. It does have the latest firmware updates. We were somewhat thinking of getting the Samsung EM57C, but not sure it would better the problem.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. As you have already completed the troubleshooting steps we would have suggested, I can only suspect an ISP issue. You may take issue with this, as the laptop works fine, but PCs connect to one cluster of servers and all the other devices connect to another cluster. So it could be that you're experiencing so throttling. If after you contact your ISP, the problem persists, contact us at qasupport@sea.samsung.com and we'll consider some additional possibilities. Question

BD-P1600 stuck on Main Menu...

Hi,

My blu Ray player gets stuck on the movie's main menu. It loads the interface with play, scene select, etc, but will not play.

Today I tried TRON Legacy. Tonight I will try another. DVDs play fine, which is my movie collection. Blu Ray is a new thing for me, so I have to rent movies to test them.

Any ideas or things I can try to make it work.

We recommend you make sure your player has the latest firmware. The latest update for this player listed on the official product support page is 2.22 released 7/5/2012.

5. If freezing or audio drop out, what is the time stamp or chapter when it happens?
6. Has another disc been tried?

Question

Can Not get Internet or VUDU to open and work

Received email about Netflix update. Netflix is working fine. However, VUDU does not open now. When I click on INTERNET on the menu it says DOWNLOADING then goes back to the Menu. So, I can not get into that section either.

Has VUDU been removed as an Option? How do I get to open INTERNET?

If you are unable to get the player to access the Internet at all, we recommend you try resetting your player.

We also recommend you try power cycling your network.

1. With the player powered off, remove the Ethernet Cable from the player (non-wireless users) or disconnect the wireless dongle (wireless users).
2. Unplug the BD Player and press and hold the POWER button on the player for 20 seconds.
3. Disconnect the power from both the router and the modem and let all devices sit unplugged for 2 minutes.
4. Reconnect the power to the modem and turn it on. Allow the modem to boot up completely and wait for all lights to illuminate.
5. Reconnect the power to the router and turn it on. Allow the router to boot up completely and wait for all lights to illuminate.
6. Plug the BD Player back in and turn the power on.
7. Connect the Wireless Dongle or Ethernet Cable and let sit for 1-2 minutes before connecting to the network.

We also recommend you make sure your player has the latest firmware (last update listed online is Version 2.22 and was released on 7/5/2012).

Question

Cannot complete Firmware Upgrade

Completed all steps of Firmware Upgrade via USB Flash Drive & unit powered down. Upon powering back up screen asked for Language Selection and unit will not except numeral input and will not function beond this point. Cannot select language. How do I fix this??

Question

BD-P1600 freezes/won't play movies since latest update

Since this is a known issue (see message board), I would like to know what Samsung is going to do for all the customers that now have useless blu-ray players. Please do not tell me to unplug/restart player (I've done that - it still doesn't work# and please do not tell me to call for servicing - this is an issue with the system - not my unit. I would like a resolution to this issue for me and all of the other owners, or else I will be contacting my states attorney general about a consumer complaint #remember the class action Apple had when their update broke alot of iPhones)?

Will HULU app be available on my this unit?

With all the firmware updates and the teams of developers, Why have an update to put HULU on this unit. We should not be pressured to buy new devices just to have access to these apps. If Blockbusters APP was taken away in one of the updates then HULU can surely be added.

Using You Tube

The you Tube Video part works great, but I cannot seem to log in properly so that I may watch my You tube favorites the way I can watch them on my laptop. I have a 7 digit password that does not work when I try to log in with the player. Must I change the password to 4 digits only? What am I doing wrong?
