There are two ways to update your BD-P1590.

Included are the two methods, and the instructions and files can be found on the support page here:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/d...

One is the LAN method (if you have a wired connection)
http://tinyurl.com/3dfkd7a

And the other is the CD method:

I’m sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your Blu-ray player.

I’d recommend trying to reset the unit by turning the unit on and making sure that the disc tray is empty. Then, press and hold the FF>> button until the unit resets. Then, go through the initial setup and power down the unit. Then, try and restart the unit and you should have proper operation.

If you still continue to experience difficulty, I would recommend contacting the Samsung customer service center, and speaking to one of our chat agents at the following link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/

Or you can also call them directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

We appreciate your support of Samsung products, and we look forward to assisting you.

Additional apps are not available for the BD-P1590. The Apps that are available on the main menu are the Apps that are available for that specific player.

The platform that allows more apps is available on some recent models, but the BD-P1590 has a limit of the Apps that are currently listed with the A, B, C and D buttons on the remote.

I subscribe to Netflix and when I purchased this player the box stated it was wifi ready and able to play movies direct from Netflix without the DVD. Now however I find this not to be true and you need an attachment to be able to do this. I have AT&T Uverse and and wifi service in my house and am able to download books to my kindle, etc but cannot play movies on my BD P1590 Blu ray player. What do I need to do? I am disappointed that it seems I will need to buy a new player to be able to do what I thought this player could do.

There are many variables that may have to do with the network.

Try connecting the player to the Network by choosing the new access point. If that doesn't work, you may want to consult a network expert who may be able to assist further. You can try calling the Samsung customer service center for support as well at 800-SAMSUNG, although limited network support will be available.

I am not having any sound or picture issues with this title - but I have viewing issues. Occationally throughout the movie it repeats a section of the movie - it's a small section and not a full chapter.

I have contacted Samsung and Disney on the issue. Disney claimed that it was a known issue with Samsungs players - and should be fixed with a firmware update. Since then a firmware update has been released by Samsung and not fixed the issue (on my player BD-P1590).

I contacted Samsung and they had me re-install the latest firmware to see if this fixes the issue - which it hasn't.

I am also having this same issue on the new Avatar Collector's Edition on my player.

So now it's back to Samsung to see what if anything they can do for me. Keep reporting the issue if you are having a similar problem as it is the only way this problem will ever get fixed.

try pushing the WPS button on your router then connecting your wirless adapter on your player. most routers have a "majic connect" or auto connect button now days where you can have the router automaticly look for new devices and configure them securely just with the push of a button usualy on the side or top of the router. if that doesnt work for you log into your router and see why its not connecting both from the router and player that should get you on the right track to getting it autherised.

We recommend you make sure the firmware is indeed up-to-date, as this is a 2009 model and a new firmware update was released on 7/5/2012.

http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp?idx=161615&modelname=BD-P1590

Once you definitely confirmed there are no firmware updates, we recommend you reset the player.

If the issue persists, we recommend you file a service request.
