Thank you for contacting Samsung.

The WIS09ABGN is no longer available through our parts supplier, but the WIS09ABGN2 is and works with 2009 Blu-ray models.

Question

If Netflix or Blockbuster go out of business, will you then offer an update for Hulu+ on this device?

Are you ever going to offer other applications since it is impossible to get all content through the applications that are on this device right now? Hulu+, Amazon, etc. Thanks.

In fact, Blockbuster, although not going out of business just yet, has sent notice that they are going to discontinue streaming to this device at the end of next month. Booh!

But perhaps this means there will be a practical way to add another app via firmware update that deletes Blockbuster, thus freeing up resources on the device.

I'm not sure what will be offered in an instance like this. At this time, there are no plans to switch or offer additional apps for that model.

I’m sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your Blu-ray player.

Unfortunately, this seems to be a service related issue.

Since it's very difficult to diagnose and troubleshoot based on the information posted, I recommend that you contact Samsung's customer service center and try speaking to one of our chat agents at the following link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/

Or you can also call them directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

We appreciate your support of Samsung products, and we look forward to assisting you.

I would start with updating the firmware on your device by plugging it into a cat5 connection or using WIFI dongle.
you can find the update function under setup/network.
once you have the firmware up todate try again it should work just fine if not run a CD/DVD cleaner though it (the DRY one with a little brush on the disk DO NOT USE any WET cleaners on the disk head ever and never touch the laser)

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

We recommend you check for firmware updates for your player, as version 2.22 is listed on the product support page as being released on 7/5/2012.

http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp?idx=161615&modelname=BD-P1590

If your player has the latest firmware, we recommend you answer the following questions and email the answers to qasupport@sea.samsung.com along with your full model code and serial number and we will be in touch.

1. Where was the disc purchased or what edition is it?
2. Is this the 2D or 3D version, if 2D is the label facing up?
3. What exactly occurs once you press enter on 'Play'?
4. Are there any error messages?
5. If freezing or audio drop out, what is the time stamp or chapter when it happens?
6. Has another disc been tried?

Thank you for being a Samsung customer!

I subscribe to Netflix and when I purchased this player the box stated it was wifi ready and able to play movies direct from Netflix without the DVD. Now however I find this not to be true and you need an attachment to be able to do this. I have AT&T Uverse and and wifi service in my house and am able to download books to my kindle, etc but cannot play movies on my BD P1590 Blu ray player. What do I need to do? I am disappointed that it seems I will need to buy a new player to be able to do what I thought this player could do.

I am not having any sound or picture issues with this title - but I have viewing issues. Occationally throughout the movie it repeats a section of the movie - it's a small section and not a full chapter.

I have contacted Samsung and Disney on the issue. Disney claimed that it was a known issue with Samsungs players - and should be fixed with a firmware update. Since then a firmware update has been released by Samsung and not fixed the issue (on my player BD-P1590).

I contacted Samsung and they had me re-install the latest firmware to see if this fixes the issue - which it hasn't.

I am also having this same issue on the new Avatar Collector's Edition on my player.

So now it's back to Samsung to see what if anything they can do for me. Keep reporting the issue if you are having a similar problem as it is the only way this problem will ever get fixed.

The new code will be generated once the old code was de-activated on the Netflix website and the Netflix App is launched on the Blu-ray player.

You might try the following instructions on the Samsung support page for Netflix activation and deactivation here:

http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If that still doesn't help, you may need to contact the Samsung support center at 800-SAMSUNG.

Not yet. Samsung is including its newer "Internet@Home" software on new-model players which supports an "app" structure where you can add new applications to the player (like iPhone apps). These apps include Hulu Plus. I contacted Samsung about support, and they responded that they plan to include this feature in a planned firmware update, but did not provide an expected release date.

This is accomplished by performing a factory reset. Take any disc out of the player and close the tray. Hold down the Forward Track Button >| for several seconds until the unit displays RESET. This will delete any BD Live data and clear any settings for Blockbuster, Netflix & Pandora etc...

Turn the player off and open and remove the disc. Then, press the stop button or the FF button for several seconds until "no disc" shows on display. It worked for mine. Then, you should be able to load the disc and play normally. If that doesn't work, then try turning it off and unplugging it, plugging it back in and try above process again.

Mine did the same thing. I turned off the player and then opened it, removed the disc, turned it off. Then, turned it back on and held down the "stop" button for several seconds. "No disc" showed up on the display. I was then able to open the player and put my disc in and it worked fine. I also read somewhere else that if "stop" doesn't work to try the FF button.

Question

Why does my player play the dvd, but the status is stuck on LOAD and I can't use the dvd menu

When I insert a disk, doesn't matter if it's DVD or BluRay, the disk will play, but the status on the front of the machine still says loading and the remote will not work with the machine. I have to unplug the player for a few minutes and plug it back in and it usually starts working again.

Not all manufactures will have codes that are represented in the owners manual. We offer the codes for a large array of television manufacturers, and while we are able to offer a wide selection, not all manufacturers or all products will be available.

In this case this particular manufacturer is not supported, as codes are not available in the manual.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue with updating your player.

A common step that is missed is unzipping the file directly onto a freshly formatted thumbdrive. Try unpacking the file directly from the desktop to the formatted drive, and it should be able to install.

If it is wireless and does not need a ethernet cable just follow the setup instructions. Go to auto and when it is searching for the router you must push the button on your router so it locates the ip address and settings.
