netflix app has to download and install everytime i turn the player on

everytime i turn the player on and push the nexflix button, or go into the hub and click on the icon, netflix has to download and install everytime and i know it is not normal. also menu navigation is extremely lagged. is there a firmware update in the works to fix these issues?

Question

I cannot get cd audio to play on my Sony Bravia and may return player to vendor.

I believe I have tried all of the audio setting options available and I get exceptionsl picture but no audio. The audio specs on the Bravia via HDMI are "Two channel linear PCM 32,44.1,and 48 kHz, 16,20 and 24 bits, Dolby Digital. Do you have any solutions before I box it up?

NETFLIX APP IN PUERTO RICO

Hi I just buy the BD today I have been more than 3 hours trying to download netflix app and pandora app. None of the two apps are displayed in the samsung apps from the smart hub. I do a hard reset as mentioned in the link

but this not resolve the problem. I change my dns server to 8.8.8.8 and nothing. Tomorrow I would be returning the BD because I read that many people from Puerto Rico have the same problem. Netflix is available in Puerto Rico since june 2011

Netflix wifi streaming

Has anyone been able to successfully stream Netfllix via wifi to the BD-EM57C? I can access my local pc and get to the internet via other apps, but Netflix always says it's not connected to the internet when connected via wifi. Will try it wired when I can make up a long enough network cable.

bought the em57c recently. followed the startup procedure and entered the code that came up on screen into the netflix web site and had no trouble watching movies that i had problems with when using my d5700 player.

Question

Why could I not find the correct model number?

I was unable to find the correct model number when registering my product. The model number on my box, paperwork and the actual blue ray player was BD-E5700. This is not an option when registering so I chose the closest thing I could find.

If you're not able to register your unit, try calling the Samsung customer service center at 800-SAMSUNG and having a representative assist you with registering your product. That way, if you need assistance, all of the information is already in the agent's system.

You need to activate closed captioning from the movie start menu. Scroll down from the "Play movie" screen. You can stop the movie and activate closed captioning before selecting "PLAY".

How to resume play after switching to TV

If switch to TV when DVD is partially played, then when go back to DVD it goes back to the beginning, not where I left off. It happens with all DVDs. Thanks

I’m sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your Blu-ray player.

Try switching the Anynet+ option to OFF, and your Blu-Ray player will remain unaffected if you switch inputs.

Turning off or stopping the unit may require you to start from the beginning - this is a difference between Blu-Ray players and DVD players.

Question

Why does smarthub have to download and install each time I start it.

After I turn the player off and come back later and start smarthub it has to download and install again. This seems to be unnecessary. Also, may pandora app states it is not installed when I start it from the remote. I then have to start smarthub to be able to play pandora. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated.

We are having temporary server issues. For most users, the hard reset and power cycling is fixing the issue temporarily, and I understand that will be the permanent fix. You'll find directions for how to generally reset a Samsung device here:

I was having the same problem until I checked for any firmware updates. Once it updated I have not had this issue anymore..Go to your settings for the bluray player and download the updates. Hope this helps.

I’m sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your Blu-ray player.

I’d recommend trying to reset the unit by turning the unit on and making sure that the disc tray is empty. Then, press and hold the STOP button until the unit resets. Then, go through the initial setup and power down the unit. Then, try and restart the unit and you should have proper operation.

I went through this with two different copies of this model. I did numerous resets and checked for updates. Return the product to the store before it is too late!

You don't.

The basic Hulu website is only available using a web browser on a computer. Devices like internet enabled TV's & BluRay players, Roku player, etc. will only work with Hulu plus.

Question

How do you recover 'lost' memory (for apps)

Tried to use Smart Hub Apps, but failed to install them several times, perhaps due to poor network connection. Now network is working, but 107Mb of the total 108Mb of memory is used up and I only have two of the default apps loaded. Nothing else that I've tried will load, and the system tells me I don't have enough memory to load anything I try to load.

Found something in System Settings called "BData management" (or something like that), but it's grayed out and I can't use it.

I'm running firmware 1010 now - still no joy.

Hard reset didn't do anything. Memory still used up and DB still grayed out.
