Question

NETFLIX APP IN PUERTO RICO

Hi I just buy the BD today I have been more than 3 hours trying to download netflix app and pandora app. None of the two apps are displayed in the samsung apps from the smart hub. I do a hard reset as mentioned in the link
http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp?idx=405041&modelname=BD-EM57C
but this not resolve the problem. I change my dns server to 8.8.8.8 and nothing. Tomorrow I would be returning the BD because I read that many people from Puerto Rico have the same problem. Netflix is available in Puerto Rico since june 2011

Has anyone been able to successfully stream Netfllix via wifi to the BD-EM57C? I can access my local pc and get to the internet via other apps, but Netflix always says it's not connected to the internet when connected via wifi. Will try it wired when I can make up a long enough network cable.

Thanks.

I’m sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your Blu-ray player.

Try switching the Anynet+ option to OFF, and your Blu-Ray player will remain unaffected if you switch inputs.

Turning off or stopping the unit may require you to start from the beginning - this is a difference between Blu-Ray players and DVD players.

We appreciate your support of Samsung products, and we look forward to assisting you.

It may require additional hardware, as iPhones have a proprietary photo format, and may limit how data is shared to connected devices.

With the limited information that has been provided, I'm unable to assist with troubleshooting. I would recommend contacting the Samsung customer service center, and speaking to one of our chat agents at the following link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/

Or you can also call them directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

I’m sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your Blu-ray player.

I’d recommend trying to reset the unit by turning the unit on and making sure that the disc tray is empty. Then, press and hold the STOP button until the unit resets. Then, go through the initial setup and power down the unit. Then, try and restart the unit and you should have proper operation.

If you still continue to experience difficulty, I would recommend contacting the Samsung customer service center, and speaking to one of our chat agents at the following link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/

Or you can also call them directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

You don't.

The basic Hulu website is only available using a web browser on a computer. Devices like internet enabled TV's & BluRay players, Roku player, etc. will only work with Hulu plus.

Question

Netflix problems

Are they ever gonna fix the problems so many customers are having with the Netflix app? I have read so many complaints the same as mine as well as answers from the help chats. I have tried everything that Samsung support says to but I am still having problems. It takes what seems like forever to load the app then forever for the list and the movie. Sometimes (only a few) it works fine. But most it starts the movie then it stops and reloads or pops up that there is no connection. I have tried wifi and shutting all other items off, I have tried wired, I have tried restarting, everything! But I can go to my pc or wii and its just as smooth and fast as it can be. I think I may just take this player back and try a different one or just get my money and say forget it. Not worth the headache anymore, this is the 2nd one I have tried.

Question

Blu-ray player does not remember wireless network pass code

My player does not remember the wireless network pass code after I turn off and turn on the unit. I am forced to re-enter the pass code each time I turn on the player. A hassle. Why Does the player not save the network pass code? This makes the wireless support useless.

How can I get this fixed?

If this is not fixable, I will be returning the unit.

Question

Blue ray player Unit turns on on it's own when watching TV. How Do I stop this?

Player turns on to smart hub on its own when I'm watching TV. TV is though dish network satellite. I must manually go back through my Dish network remote and change back to satellite DBS connection.
The remotes for the TV and Blu ray are separate and not intergrated. It's annoying and my mother does not know how to do the 6 steps required to change it back to the program she was watching on TV.
The TV is a 1080P Panasonic.
How can I prevent this? The blu ray remote works fine to operate the unit. Help?
The smart Hub does not make a connection with my wireless internet through my router. I show 3 bars but I'm assuming my service will not handle the activity. I have internet though satellite, the only way I can get it out here in the mountians.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

We recommend you perform a factory reset on the player. This will reset all Smart Hub and additional player settings. That way, you shouldn't run into additional issues based on the prior owner's customizations.

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/supportOwnersHowToGuidePopup.do?howto_guide_seq=6741&prd_ia_cd=N0000071&map_seq=44606

Once the player is reset and you've reconfigured connectivity to a home network, we recommend you make sure and update the firmware prior to setting up Smart Hub anew.

We have conferred with our resident home theater expert that the Netflix app should be available for your player through the Smart Hub interface. The Netflix service has been available to customers in Puerto Rico since summer 2011.
