Apparently your Blueray Disk Player is not connected to your home WiFi or wired network which it needs to be to connect to the internet. Set it up again making sure to complete all steps for connecting to either a wired or wireless LAN with internet access.

Thanks for your question. Please check if other applications are working. If other applications are working, please contact Netflix because Netflix develops the application. We apologize for any inconvenience.
When first setting up the unit my browser does not seem to load. Seems to be stuck with the spinning icon (which eventually just stops) and does not continue to actually open the browser.
Or am I just impatient... after 20 mins ;-)

I would suggest upgrading the firmware on this player after you perform a hard reset on it. In fact, I always look for and install any updates before I go to use a product for the first time that has internet connectivity.
We recommend you perform a reset of Smart Hub. Please follow the directions outlined in the article below. You can disregard the differing product model listed in the article, as the directions should be identical.
My browser (ver 1.230) was working until the browser update came (version 1.233). Now when i try to open my browser in the BD-E5900 it just spins and the browser never opens.
I had same problem. I logged into my samsung account went into my apps and highlighted the web browser icon. Then select the tools button on your remote or right click the icon with your keyboard then select reinstall. After the reinstall is done the browser worked. hope it works for you.

I continue to have this same issue as well and I have upgraded to the latest firmware, as well as done a player Hard Reset and Smart Hub reset. I was told by Samsung Support today that there are "Known issues with the Smart Hub platform right now and developers are working to fix it and there is no ETA."
I can't access anything, no apps, no web browser, I just keep getting ERROR_EXE_001 or others with the smart hub acting like I don't have internet access, when the player confirms I do, and I can access BDLive content from the player just fine. I'd love for someone from Samsung to give an honest response about the current Smart Hub issues, instead of just the same suggestions.

The other comments on this thread is correct. Simply update your firmware. We apologize for any inconvenience.
I had a problem with mine at first also, I think when my teenage son tried to set up an account without me. Once I sat down in front of my tv, I used my iphone to go online to finish the sign up process and its been fine ever since.

once you connect your device to an internet connection it should start updating your software once it's done check for the icon on your media hub screen if it doesn't show up go to samsung apps and download it again. Still by any chance if you can't find it press the Netflix button on your remote it would take you into the software

Did you see an update notification for DVD player? You should try another disc that you have played before to rule out DVD player.
We recommend you make sure your player has the latest firmware update installed. Our research shows the latest build available online is 1053.2 released on 10/24/2012. Please review the support article below for further instructions.

First, make sure that your blu-ray player is properly connected to a 3D capable tv, otherwise you will not be able to view any 3D content. The 3D blu-ray player works in conjunction with the 3D capable tv. Also, make sure that your 3D settings are correct on your 3D tv so that you will be able to view the content. Also make sure that your 3D glasses are powered on if your tv uses "active" 3D. Active 3D glasses uses batteries that may need to be replaced or recharged if you have the rechargeable type glasses. If all else fails, contact Samsung technical support.
I had the same message because the BD-E5900 Blu-ray did not automatically detect my LG TV as only 720p and displayed the message invalid format. I could not see the install screens to set the resolution. I did a hard reset. Did not help. I disconnected it from my LG and plugged it into a TV that was 1080p.The Blu-ray booted up and I adjusted the screen resolution to 720p in the Blu-ray setup. Powered down, disconnected and reinstalled on the LG and the screen comes up now. I have had other problems with this unit and would not recommend it. Hope this helps,

Question
Can't access Smart Hub/Internet
So I've been dealing with this problem all day. I just got this blu ray player from samsung (BD-E5900) and it refuses to stay connected to the internet. I was able to install a firmware update by usbto see if that would fix the problem but every time I try to access the web or use the smarthub to download apps, an error that says "error_update_003" pops up and says I am not connected to the internet. I have reset my modem, reset the player, verified I have internet access but once I try the smarthub, I am apparently kicked off. I have tried both wired and wireless. Any suggestions?

I attempted to access smart hub again today and it did download an update and progressed farther than it did previously, but the problems still happen. Can not connect. No network connection. error_update_00x. model bind.
I went through a both the smart hub reset and a hard reset. Neither fixed the problem. Apparently Samsung does NOT have the problem fixed.
I have a similar issue. Couldn't update firmware online and when I update via usb it gives me an error message saying invalid model settings and doesn't allow me internet access when on the smart hub.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.
We recommend you try again, as we recently identified a Smart Hub issue that has since been corrected.
I don't know why this happened and customer support couldn't find the solutions neither.
I bought two E5900 bluray DVD. one was connected with PN51E7000 using HDMI cable (Plasma TV 2012 model#. there was no problem to set up language / network and still it works fine.
another E5900 was connected with PN60E7000 #same model but bigger screen) using HDMI Cable. I can't set up this Bluray correctly. screen keeps flashing and finally I could change the resolution to 720P and then screen was stable. but point is I didn't buy E5900 / PN60E7000 to connect with 720P instead of 1080P. both are 2012 new model and I can't believe both aren't compatible each other.
When I talk on the phone with Blu ray department, she went through the general trouble shooting process but nothing really picked up. and she forward the phone to TV department who don't know the reason neither. I don't know what I should do to solve this problem.

This kind of issue is a little more complicated than we can do over Q&A. Please contact us on Twitter or Facebook. Below is the information you'll need to contact us.
If you have a Twitter account, go here or to this URL: http://twitter.com/#!/samsungsupport Having a transaction number or model number and serial number handy ahead of time will be helpful.
If you have Facebook, go here to this URL: http://www.facebook.com/SamsungSupport Click on the "Support Form" button.
on my E5900 there was a setting to match the screen size of your tv. the default was I think 55" and I changed it to match my Samsung 60" tv. I also have 2 E5900, and they work great, they are the only 3D player that will expand the picture to remove the black bars.

DVD could be damaged have tried multiple DVD's and tried those DVD's in another system to insure issue is with Blu-Ray device.
Once you've reset your player and reconfigured your network settings, we recommend you make sure the player's firmware is updated. The latest firmware update that appears on the support page for your product is 1053.2 released on 9/27/2012.
Is there a way of installing Adobe Flash Player on the unit to run on websites that use Flash while using the web browser in SmartHub? I see that you have the Linux OS.
Also, is there a way of connecting a wireless or wired keyboard/mouse to the unit instead of using the arrow keys on the remote to position the "arrow" cursor on the onscreen keyboard. That is VERY slow and frustrating.

This is re: the Samsung 3d wireless blue ray player
Even if you decline my comment I wll get my opinion out very disappointed.
Purchased Ice Age 3D Blue Ray disk and it will not play on our BD player (BD-E5900/ZA). The disk loads just fine and allows me to select and play 2D with the same disk, but when I select 3D, the player "locks up" with a blank screen and will not respond to any remote command other than Power Off. The BD player works fine in 3D with another Blue Ray 3D disk. We are viewing on a Samsung 3D TV (U55ES6500FXZA). Where do I go from here?

I think we're supposed to wait for a firmware update.
The Netflix menu (or lack of) is very user un-friendly.
Our new blu-ray player is a replacement for a previous (2 yr. old) model from Samsung. The previous model had a user-friendly Netflix menu. The menu on our new player is nearly unusable. If fact, there is no actual menu or homepage. One can only choose from a horizontal band of "recently watched" and "newly added" choices. What happened to the standard Netflix menu? Is there a setup change that needs to be made by me?

Thank you for contacting Samsung.
2011 and 2012 devices use a newer version of the Netflix app than 2009 and 2010 models do. Netflix develops the app for Samsung products, so you may wish to contact them to share your feedback on the app functionality.
Hello Jeweler, You will have different levels of functionality depending on what device you are using the Netfix app on. In other words, using it on a smart tv may allow more flexibility than using it on a blu-ray player. I would recommend using the app on whatever device you feel offers you the best experience.
When I try to open Hulu plus I get a black screen. Every other time I try to open Netflix I get the same. When Netflix DOES actually open I get to sign in and to see my que, but the shows are blurry/fuzzy and horrible quality. Why won't the apps open every time? Why is the picture quality awful? I am connected to Wifi. I have accounts set up for all of these apps. I have tried to updates but it keeps telling me there are no updates.

The only application I cannot get to work on the new BD-5900 is Hulu Plus. I am sure it is not my connection since all other apps are working just fine. It's either the app itself or the way Samsung is handling the app. I read on here that I am not the only person with this problem.
When I try accessing the app, the wheel starts spinning but nothing happens. If I go to Samsung Apps through the hub and try to launch it from there, the screen turns black, the 'connecting' message comes on and still nothing happens. I once left it like that for almost 30 min, and nothing happened. If I highlight the application and try to re-install it from the hub, the message comes on that it has been re-installed but the same thing happens: Hulu Plus just won't load. If I try to uninstall it from Samsung Apps screen, the 'Uninstall' button is grayed out, so I can't even select it. I was logged in with my Samsung ID when I tried all this.
Does anyone know how to fix it?

You should have all available networks shown on the screen, then select yours and have the PASSKEY available if the network is locked. Once this is entered the system will confirm you have service and connectivity to the network. I had no problems then downloaded all required software updates.

Question
Player does not detect any networks
Bought the Bd-E5900 few days ago, went through set up and wirelessly connected to my home network. Did all updates downloaded apps, everything worked fine the first day. Yesterday I turned it on again and it would not connect to the home network. I tried to reset to factory settings and went through initial set up again and now the list of networks doesn't show any networks, it only says "Add network". If I hit "Refresh" it comes up with another button that says "Add network." Tried to manually add my network and it still doesn't connect.
It works fine through a ethernet cable but doesn't pick up any networks through the Wi-Fi. I know that there are many networks in the area that showed up on the list the first day I turned the machine on but as of yesterday, there aren't any networks on that list. I have a Smart TV in another room that connects just fine.
Is this a problem with the built in Wi-Fi on this device? How do I fix this problem? I bought this device specifically for the Wi-Fi capabilities.
Thanks

The Blu-Ray isn't actually using the WiFi connection when powered off but what you may see is a shadow (mac address) that doesn't prevent your PC from using the WiFi connection simultaneously. In fact you can use your WiFi connection simultaneously with all WiFi devices in your home the only impact may be your bandwidth available. By the way you may want to use a search engine on how wireless modem/router work.
We're a little confused by what you're asking. Once configured, your Blu-ray player's software is designed to stay connected to your wireless home network, even between power cycles. If it's not staying connected, we can help you resolve it. But, when the Blu-ray player is powered off, it should have no effect on how the wireless network performs with your computer.
