Question

BD-E5700 I can connect with wire... but not wireless

Everytime I try to connect with WI-FI (the main reason I acquired this device), the system comes back with "unable to connect to router....". I tested with a wired connection, and it connects to Internet just great. I also tested the WI-FI signal with my portable laptop at the same location as the BD device... and it works fine. What could be the problem #I've tried everything the manual or the system tells you to do#?

Thank you for contacting Samsung. You could try to reduce the distance between the Blu-ray player and the wireless access point in order to do determine if there's an actual problem with Blu-ray player. Additionally, here's the complete guide to setting up an Internet connection for it: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp?idx=409144&modelname=BD-E5700

Question

downloading apps

I see many complaints on memory for apps. The DVD only has 103 MB to start with. Without downloading any apps there is about 80 MB already used. That doesn't leave much for Samsung apps. Having to delete apps to download a different one is a pain. Is there not a way to add more memery?

Sometimes when a player is first powered on and you go straight to software upgrade you may see an error, in that case you just have to exit the menu, and wait 30 seconds or so for the player to establish a network connection, and then try again.

Question

Why am I not getting DTS sound through the coax output of the player

I have a Sherwood AV 5.1 receiver with coaxial digital inputs (no HDMI inputs). When I set the player to what appears to be the digital output, I can't seem to get DTS sound. I was able to get Dolby Digital sound through the digital output.

Now, with my previous Blu-Ray player, I was able to get DTS sound to my receiver.

I’m sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your Blu-ray player.

I’d recommend trying to reset the unit by turning the unit on and making sure that the disc tray is empty. Then, press and hold the STOP button until the unit resets. Then, go through the initial setup and power down the unit. Then, try and restart the unit and you should have proper operation.

If you still continue to experience difficulty, I would recommend contacting the Samsung customer service center, and speaking to one of our chat agents at the following link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/

Or you can also call them directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

We appreciate your support of Samsung products, and we look forward to assisting you.

Question

My BLu-ray player seems to be "stuck" in a loop

I tried to load a dvd on Saturday into my BLU-Ray E5700 player. The player turned on ON, LOAD, then nothing, THe player's diplay then displayed STOP for a few seconds then OFF. I have looked through your troubleshooting guide. I have tried a reset but the player does not respond at all to the reset. Have unplugged the player, have done everything I can think of. The player will not reset and will not repond to the remote. In other words, I cannot even get to the set up page. Even without a dvd in the player, when it comes on it is ON-LOAD-STOP-OFF. Am not getting any use out of this player at present
