Questions & Answers for samsung BD-E5700

Question

BD-E5700 I can connect with wire... but not wireless

Everytime I try to connect with WI-FI (the main reason I acquired this device), the system comes back with "unable to connect to router....". I tested with a wired connection, and it connects to Internet just great. I also tested the WI-FI signal with my portable laptop at the same location as the BD device... and it works fine. What could be the problem #I've tried everything the manual or the system tells you to do#?

Thank you for contacting Samsung. You could try to reduce the distance between the Blu-ray player and the wireless access point in order to do determine if there's an actual problem with Blu-ray player. Additionally, here's the complete guide to setting up an Internet connection for it: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp?idx=409144&modelname=BD-E5700

Question

downloading apps

I see many complaints on memory for apps. The DVD only has 103 MB to start with. Without downloading any apps there is about 80 MB already used. That doesn't leave much for Samsung apps. Having to delete apps to download a different one is a pain. Is there not a way to add more memery?

Question

How to have a reliable start-up?

Often times when I boot the samsung player with the intention of navigating to the hub it just freezes and says installing or downloading. Other times it just boots right up. I have been going to the system tab and updating the appliance regularly. Just wondering what I can do to keep from freezing at boot....

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

We recommend you review the following troubleshooting guide. You have the option of performing 1 or more resets in an effort to resolve this issue. While we would recommend a Hard Reset, you are certainly welcome to try the Smart Hub Reset first to see if that resolves the issue.

When you are in the Smart hub push the "C" button on the remote to enter the edit mode. Put a check in the box of the apps you want to delete. Arrow down to the menu at the bottom of the screen and scroll to the delete selection. Push the enter button in the middle of the arrows on the remote.

Question

Why won't BluRay connect to Internet?

BluRay suddenly stopped connecting to the Internet. It will not pull "DNS Server" information from my wireless connection. Wireless is functioning fine, identical Samsung BluRay player downstairs accesses the Internet on the same connection with no problem. Tried entering DNS Server Information manually, but doesn't help. Talked to ISP, they said it has to be an issue with the player. Please advise.
