Question

Software downloads & installs stuck in an endless loop.

I go to the internet on the bench and it downloads software, installs the software, and kicks me back to the bench without proceeding to the internet. This was supposed to be fixed several months ago when they pushed new software to the Blue Ray players, but the problem has not been fixed. I've tried unplugging the unit and resetting it, with no impact. When I reset it obviously does not wipe out all of the memory since it still remembers the code to log onto the wireless router.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. As you have tried several things that we would have already suggested, please try completely a factory reset of your device: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/supportOwnersHowToGuidePopup.do?howto_guide_seq=5402&prd_ia_cd=N0000071&map_seq=35291

If you have already done so, or if your problem still persists after doing so, contact us at qasupport@sea.samsung.com and summarize what you've already done and provide us with the Blu-ray player's serial number. Thank you for being a Samsung customer!

Question

Would it be possible to use a bracket system to attach this to the back of a 3D HDTV?

I know that you can mount this Blu-Ray player to a wall or under a cabinet but is there a way to attach this device to the back of a 3D HDTV so you can keep the two in one area, thus shortening the HDMI cable length needed between the TV and the Blu-Ray player?

No. If you purchased the BD-D7500 it comes with a mounting kit out of the box since this blu ray player is wall mountable.

Wall mounting would be your best bet here, although I do see what you are trying to do with mounting to the back of the TV. I'm sure you can find a way to accomplish this, although I would not recommend it. Both units produce heat and the combination could cause harm to either or both units.

You will need a special camera/microphone unit from Samsung, which can be attached onto your tv, but if you don't find the Skype application into your smart hub i don't think you can acces skype. If you don't find skype in the smart hub, search it in the "New" apps downloads.

No, the slim design of the televisions prohibits the ability to mount the player to the back of the TV.

You might be able to do it, and it's yours to do with how you see fit, however, we do not recommend it.

With any device using FIRMWARE. The software for hardware is only upgraded when there is a need to work with a new operating system, or factory version of firmware has a glich not discovered during testing. Other than that do not expect regular FIRMWARE updates for any product you own.

Question

BD-D7500 skips on Netflix

I've had a problem, when I stream Netflix I have the problem with blinking or intermittent blackouts (and resolution changes up and down) that are very momentary. it's noticeable. If I reboot by pulling the power it goes away and all is well. Then if I watch a Blu-ray it stutters both audio and video. If I reboot the power again all is well and works. Then when going back to streaming, I get blinking (and resolution changes up and down) fixable again with power down. And so on.

I've read in a number of sites about the Netflix problem with other players.

I may have solved the problem by turning the BD-Wise feature off and setting the resolution on the player to 1080P. this forces Netflix to stop the resolution jumps. I also believe I had this problem with the BD-D6800 I used to have.

Are you having all or part of this problem.

There can be a few problems with the device. The unit itself could be faulty in reading Blu-Ray discs. Try using regular DVDs to test if it's the Blu-Ray optics that aren't working in the device. Also, make sure you're putting the disc in the player properly. (I'm only putting that in because sometimes people don't read the instructions as to the orientation of the disc going into the player when it's a slot-loading disc drive.) Also your Blu-Ray player may need to get firmware updates in order to play the newer Blu-Ray discs as my laptop which has a Blu-Ray player & burner in it needs to get updates to the Blu-Ray player's firmware to keep playing the newest Blu-Ray discs.

You need to update the firmware on the device. Run a network cable from your modem or router (if nearby) and hook it up to the player. Make sure you have a tv connected as well so that you can navigate to the "settings" section on the device. Then select "update firmware" or "check for firmware update". Download new fimware, let the device install it and you should be good to go.

I’m sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your Blu-ray player.

I’d recommend trying to reset the unit by turning the unit on and making sure that the disc tray is empty. Then, press and hold the STOP button until the unit resets. Then, go through the initial setup and power down the unit. Then, try and restart the unit and you should have proper operation.

If you still continue to experience difficulty, I would recommend contacting the Samsung customer service center, and speaking to one of our chat agents at the following link:

Question

Has this Blu-Ray player been revised and upgraded?

Hello Samsung team,

For some time I have been considering buying the BD-D7500, as it is a slick and multi regional Blu-Ray / DVD player. My big concern is that on any website the bad reviews far outweigh the good ones, and many unsatisfied people complain that the player does not work properly. Are these issues being addressed, and have any actions been made to optimize the functionality of this blu-ray player? And what assurance or guarantee do you provide to motivate people to purchase this device? I am interested in buying it, but want to make sure it is the right choice...

I look forward to hearing back from you soon.
Thank you.

Like you I have also been looking at this particular model. IT LOOKS REALLY COOL on the wall with the CD player on the right and this to the left. Anyhow's back to your question. The latest firmware update for this model can be obtained here.

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/downloads/bluray-players/BD-C7500/XAA It was added 11/14/2011 so its the most current. But I also suggest doing what I do. I always download and read the user manuals for products I actually intend to buy before actually purchasing them when I can. That way I can have a great ideal about them.
