Question

Netflix app automatically deleted

Turned on my Blu-ray player for the first time in weeks and I was asked to upgrade to the latest software (version 1019). I did so and my Netflix app was deleted. Since I recently changed my account information on Netflix (well, got rid of it, as I saw no need for multiple Netflix accounts in 1 household), I initially thought it was a natural progression, but now the Netflix app is nowhere to be found on Smart Hub. When I search for it on the Samsung App search engine, all it retrieves are Netflix-related videos on YouTube. Please help!

When updates are rolled out by an App owner like Netflix, the old versions are uninstalled so that new versions can be installed. Netflix is available as a download from the “Video” section of Apps on applicable Samsung Blu-Ray players, and it is always available for download if it wasn’t automatically installed or updated on your player (provided you live in a region where Netflix is available, and your player supports the Netflix App).

If you are still unable to install Netflix, or the App has disappeared and you aren't able to find it in the Apps section, please reach out to the Samsung customer service center at 800-SAMSUNG or speak with one of our technicians at the chat link below:

Question

Smart Hub automatically deleted Netflix App - Can no longer find in Samsung Apps

I've been using my Samsung BD-D5700 with Netflix for nearly 6 months. Yesterday when I went to my Smart Hub to access Netflix, the Smart Hub said there was an upgraded needed and began to upgrade. During the process I received a message that Netflix was being deleted and Fandango was being added. Now I cannot find the Netflix app under Samsung Apps and everytime I hit the Netflix button, I'm told that the service is not installed. I live in TX and have an active Netflix subscription. I've been using the Netflix Samsung app for over 6 months. Is this upgrade related?

Question

Problems streaming Netflix since latest firmware update

My BD5700 was not able to stream Netflix until the firmware upgrade that came out September 16. After applying that update, everything worked perfectly and continued to work perfectly until the latest November 4 firmware update, and now I am not able to stream Netflix. Has anyone else had this problem, and what is the fix?

I’m sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your Blu-ray player.

I’d recommend trying to reset the unit by turning the unit on and making sure that the disc tray is empty. Then, press and hold the STOP button until the unit resets. Then, go through the initial setup and power down the unit. Then, try and restart the unit and you should have proper operation.

If you still continue to experience difficulty, I would recommend contacting the Samsung customer service center, and speaking to one of our chat agents at the following link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/

Or you can also call them directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

We appreciate your support of Samsung products, and we look forward to assisting you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your Blu-ray player.

In some cases, it may have to do with the possibility that you might not have the latest firmware update loaded onto your Blu-ray player. To do this, you may need to download the instructions and the update from the www.Samsung.com/support website.

For your specific model, the firmware update and instructions can be found here:

You need to reset the system and see if that fixes your problem. You can accomplish this by doing the following steps:

1. From the main menu scroll to the right and find and click on 'Settings'.
2. Scroll down and click on 'System'.
3. Scroll down and click 'Reset'.
4. It will ask for a password which as it states at the bottom the default password is "0000".

After completing the reset you should be able to go in and successfully update your software to the newest revision.

Let's try a reset, and then make sure we've created an account on the player (press A to log into that account).

Question

Netflix no longer working

As of yesterday, the Netflix app will no longer play movies. It will load the interface screen, but I get a message that the movie is not available at this time and to try another movie. I have contacted Netflix to troubleshoot the problem. They had said the problem could be attributed from the latest firmware update - BSP-D5700ZA-1019.0. Could this be the case or is there anything else that we can do to rectify this problem?

If the movie is not available at the time, it may be a licensing issue.

Netflix would have to address the question on why specific titles may or may not be available. The firmware update didn't restrict any specific titles.
