Question

why does my smart hub try to install updates but stays locked in the "installing" phase?

When i start smart hub and go to "internet" it says it needs to be updated and starts the update process. It stays in a black screen with "installing" showing in upper right screen. I have left it in this mode overnight and when I check again it still shows "installing". I have gone to settings and did a check for updates and it says "no updates are available" . The last update was done on 03/22/2012.
The Internet portion of smarthub is basically non-operational so I am unable to watch Netflix, Blockbuster, or any other apps.

Please note: a reset will clear all settings you've made to your Blu-ray player or Smart Hub or both depending on the type of reset you do.

How to complete Updating?

There are number of ways of reducing the interference and improving the signal:
- Strengthen your network signal by locating your router as close as possible to your Blu-ray player and check if there are any obstacles between your wireless router and your Blu-ray player (i.e. concrete walls, metal frames, etc).
- Boost your signal strength by adding a Wi-Fi range extender which will extend the wireless signal and provide a stronger network connection for your Blu-ray player and/or other devices.
- Change the channel on your wireless router to one less crowded.

There should be no reason for it do so. This model comes with Wifi built-in. Please verify that we are talking about the same model. won't stop installing

My player has no problem downloading the smart hub update, it just never can install them making the smart hub portion of my player useless, all I ever see is INSTALLING and can..t get rid of it

You're experiencing an effect of temporary server issues. For most users, the hard reset and power cycling is fixing the issue temporarily, and I understand that will be the permanent fix. You'll find directions for how to generally reset a Samsung device here:

Hulu Plus and my BD-D5700 wireless Blu-Ray player

It appears that whenever I attempt to play HuluPlus shows on my device, it will display the splash screen of the show and even tell me, " Show X has been brought to you by blah." Then it will think for a few seconds and come back with the error basically stating that there was a problem with the network. I find myself attempting to play the video roughly 4 times before I get it to work. I have done this with no other devices streaming on even on my home network. I have verified other applications on the Blu-Ray are working just fine, such as Netflix, Pandora, as well as Vudu. This seems only to be a consistent problem with Hulu Plus. I have verified the latest firmware on my Blu-Ray, a physical connection to my router and even reset my router as well. I have also verified that other devices can stream Hulu Plus just fine. On top of that, I have reset the Blu-Ray player from the screen by holding down the stop button for more than 8 seconds until it resets the device. I have verified all connected cables and still cannot figure out the issue. It only happens with Hulu Plus. It also will happen after a show has started as well.

Question

Netflix Rebuffering

Sometime around Feb my BD-D5700 which had played Netflix beautifully with no problems, started constantly rebuffering, making it almost unwatchable. I had just downloaded a firmware update. I had a previous similar but worse problem with my HT-C6600 (among other problems), which I sent back under warranty and is now for the most part better. My TV (UN55D6420UFXZA) has no problems, which I can only attribute to that fact that I hadn't connected Netflix until my recent problems and hadn't downloaded updates since I bought it a year ago. I've tried connecting the BD-D5700 both wired and wireless and it makes no difference. My TV streams Netflix fine so I don't think it's bandwidth or my router; I have a 25mbit download connection and a n router. I can only attribute it to a firmware update that fouled my player. At previous suggestion of someone from Samsung I tried resetting the SmartHub which didn't make a difference. My warranty is up in June and I'll be sending it back as well if I can't get this resolved ASAP. That will be two Blu-Ray devices sent back for warranty in the past year.

I do not see model I have of the Blu ray listes as compatiable with Netflix and I am gettng a lot of issues evern getting Netlix to load.

Netlfix will not load almost always and the movies I do watch stop numerous time. Netflix tells me it is a Samsung issue.

Why netflix movies will not play?

I am using netgear wireless router to connect. I can get on netflix and
load a movie, but it say , can not play this movie try again later. I can only get 2 - 3 signal bars. Everything else on the same net get full bars
and play netflix fine.

Stuck in load no video no settings

i have tried to reset the unit by holding stop and it wont reset i have tried everything and its stuck in load or if i take the disc out its stuck in the close position on the display. i cant access my menu options or anything.

The BD-D5700 is the 2011 model, adn teh BD-E5700 is the 2012 model.

There are some App and feature upgrades for the new model that aren't available on prior models. If there's a specific feature you're looking for, please post back and we'll be happy to address those questions.

dtowens.... look at the video link I provided below. I've noticed with some updates it resets the wifi back to the default settings.
