Question

How many are having Netflix issues with this player?

I have had this player for around 6 months and have had issues with the Netflix app from day one. I upgraded to a faster internet service, rebooted the router many times, reset Smart Hub many times and have reset the player itself many times. All this to NO avail.

Even after applying the 8/1/12 upgrade which said that it would clear up known issues with Netflix....it still doesn't work. i have logged many hours of time on the phone and chat with Samsung and Netflix support....all to no avail.

When will Samsung supply a bluray that works as advertised? My issue has supposedly been escalated....but I was told that 3-4 months ago and have yet to get satisfaction....

I received this once. What had happened in my case is that the connection had been changed from wireless to wired, therefore it couldn't connect to the internet. Not sure if that would be the case every time this message appears though.

I am having the same issue I have it hard wired into the lan. I installed it last week and it was working yesterday I started getting the network interferance. I went back through the settings and hard wired is still checked and it is giving me an IP address. I have done a reset and gone back through the settings and am still getting the "network interferance". I can get to the applications but as soon as I make a choice I get the network interferancce.

I kept getting the network interference message. Turned out my phone connection for FIOS was ancient, full of rusted connections. When I picked up the landline phone there was lots of static. Had the phone company replace the junction box on the outside of my house, and the network interference messages went away.

My wireless router locks up every week. My router simply requires a reboot. Try this.
1. Turn off Samsung Blu-ray player.
2. Turn off wireless router for at least 10 seconds. Anything less and it won't fix your problem.
3. Turn on wireless router. Let it boot up for 3-4 minutes at least. Anything less and it won't fix your problem.
4. Turn on Samsun Blu-ray player.
5. On Samsung Blu-ray player, go to Smart Hub, then choose an internet service, like Netflix.

That should help in most cases.

First try resetting your router and modem, or gateway. If that doesn't fix your problem try checking your network settings with your computer and make sure you allow sharing on your network. That should cover the obvious fixes to this issue.

I got the network interference error a few times when I try to start up Netflix, and it goes away whenever I fully power down my IPOD touch by holding the button at the top of the device for a few seconds. It seems there is some sort of interference between the blu-ray wireless and the IPOD wireless. I don't know if I need to change some setting on my wireless router? Any thoughts?

It could be as simple as my problem. My wireless router is right outside my bedroom in my living room. Because of the thick walls (likely lead paint), if I close my door it can't access the internet, but if I open the door it works really well.

I had to go to my account on netflix and lower the streaming video quality to stop it from freezing. Most of netflix is all HD video and it requires a high quality router to handle the transfer rates. The other factor could be the router your using. If you are using an older one you may want to consider upgrading to one that is made to handle HD video streaming.

Upgrade your router to N technology if its not already one. Again the closer the router to your device, the better it performs. If you have a VOIP working at the same time you are streaming netflix, it impedes the bandwidth. Any other load on your bandwidth example streaming on your PC or heavy online gaming at the same time affects the performance of your smart TV.

I thinmk it is the app itself. I went to netflix and deactivated the player. I then had to do a factory reset and reload the smart hub. After updating I clicked on Netflix Icon and was given a new activation code. Once entered I was able to connect.

Mine came up with this message every time I tried to access the Netflix app. The firmware update that came out on Sept 16 seems to have fixed this problem. After I applied it, the Netflix app finally works. If you haven't already applied the firmware update, do so right away. Hopefully this will fix your problem like it fixed mine!

We had this same problem today. Very frustrating. This type of functionality is so common now that you wouldn't think this problem would exist. Unfortunately, it does. C'mon Samsung. We tried upgrading the firmware, tried unplugging for long periods of time, tried resetting the unit. None of it worked. Here's what did work: We signed up for a Samsung account. Not sure how or why that had any impact but our Netflix fired right up afterwards. So, that was our solution - sign up for a Samsung account and login through the player. Give it a shot. Good luck!

It may be that either Netflix's servers aren't able to be accessed at the moment, or you may need to reset or restart your Blu-ray player. If you continue to have trouble, you may want to reset the unit or contact the Samsung customer service center for further troubleshooting.

If the player is connected, you should be able to access your other apps. You may want also check other apps to see if they able to connect to the Internet as well. That may assist the Samsung agent helping you.

Samsung will tell you to call Netflix and claim it could not possibly have anything to do with their BluRay... The very pleasent, professional woman at Netflix suggested I tried unplugging it (I'd reset it twice per advice here, but had not unpluged it). Unplug it, count to 15 and plug it back in. Everything worked fine.

Double check your network speed. It should be atleast 2.5mbps to stream netflix and it should be atleast 5mbps if you want full high definition. Also check how far is your player to the router. Reposition it much closer to it as closer as possible free from any obstacles on the line of sight.

Since my router is upstairs and my player was downstairs, it was not getting a strong signal. I purchased a signal booster that I put downstairs and it helped tremendously. I also upgraded my router that was several years old, and that too helped....no more buffering.

The load speed may be attributed to the Blu-ray player attempting to connect to your wireless router after it's initially turned on. This can take up to 30-60 seconds, depending on your network. Without that initial connection, you wouldn't be able to use the apps.

Unfortunately, at this time, there's no shortcut available to go directly to the Smart Hub option and directly access the apps.

answer 3
Your router should be of atleast 2.4 Ghz range and should include N technology for loading your contents faster. Also the closer the router to your device with as less interference as possible the better. If your internet service's bandwidth is heavily used during the same time you are using smart tv then it also contributes to delay. For example using the VOIP or online gaming at the same time takes lot of bandwidth. If you are constantly using your bandwidth heavily, you may want to upgrade your internet service.

I agree with sonny19. Get the fastest router you can buy, and whenever possible, connect it with an Ethernet cable for best connection. Having said that, I have mine wirelessly conncted to a Cisco Valet Plus router 1 floor away, and it works fine.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having a hard time reading the serial numbers.

For some products, it may be because of the size of the product or the serial number plate. I'll be happy to have the appropriate department address this concern, as we attempt to continue to offer you a quality experience with Samsung products.

Amen.......very difficult to read the s/n. Threw the box out so I'm stuck with guessing. Surprised that Samsung doesn't have the information accesible in the menu system of the player.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue with your Blu-Ray player.

Have you tried adjusting the resolution on the player? It could be that the output resolution was inadvertently changed, and the video signal being sent to the TV isn't supported.

Try attaching the Blu-ray player to the TV using the yellow AV cable, switch the TV to the AV source, and see if you're able to access the Blu-Ray menu, change the resolution, and then switch back to the connection you were using before to see if that solves the problem.

While your player is on standby mode just press and hold the stop button on the unit itself(not the remote) to put back your unit to its factory default settings. After that you'll see the initial setup and on screen language on the screen in english. So just choose the language that you prefer and do the other steps on the initial setup and you're good to go.(This works in 2010 and 2011 models of blurays and some Home Theater Systems)

DirecTV would have to supply you with the code that they have assigned for Samsung devices.

They offer several different boxes, and the codes may vary from box to box. They would be able to assist further.

The chart listed in the owner's manual on Page 18 lists the television devices that are supported with Blu-ray remote control. The manufacturer you listed is not included on that list.

Typically all DVD and Blu ray players sold in the US will only play Region 1 DVD's and Blu Ray discs unless otherwise stated. If in doubt look on the back panel of your player and it will tell you which region discs it will play.

Not all manufactures will have codes that are represented in the owners manual. We offer the codes for a large array of television manufacturers, and while we are able to offer a wide selection, not all manufacturers or all products will be available.

In this case this particular manufacturer is not supported, as codes are not available in the manual.

It depends. It's up to the studio, and these are assigned by placing digital "flags" on clips that the movie studio doesn't want you to skip. For instance, there'll always be a non-skip flag placed on the FBI warning so that you can't pass it. In most cases, where there are trailers and other advertisements, you may be on the skip by pushing the fast-forward button or by pressing the title menu button on the remote control.

If you receive a message that this option is not available or nothing happens, it may be possible that there's a digital flag that doesn't allow you to skip past this particular section.

The only way I've discovered to skip that content is to repeatedly hit the fast forward button (up to five) to quickly skip through all the coming attractions and reach the DVD menu.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having a problem opening the disc tray.

With the disc tray empty and the unit powered ON, press and hold the STOP button for 20 seconds or until the unit resets. If that still doesn't help, you may need to contact the Samsung customer service center at 800-SAMSUNG or chat with an online specialist at the following website for further information:

The lights on the front of the machine are actually the buttons. This confused me at first as well. If you press the light for on, the machine will turn on. If you press the button to open the tray, the tray will slide out.
