The BD-D5250C does use the Samsung LinkStick model WIS09ABGN for a wireless connection.

I was on the website to see where the product was listed as "not compatible", but I was unable to find where the website states that. We appreciate you bringing that to our attention, however and wanted to confirm that the WIS09ABGN LinkStick will indeed work with your Blu-ray player.

Thanks for your interest in Samsung products.

HDTech: The page saying this adapter is not compatible is http://www.samsung.com/us/video/tvs-accessories/WIS09ABGNX/XAA . It also says the BD-C5500 is not compatible, though the BD-C5500 manual says it is compatible.

Either the media, or connected device is not supporting the color format.

Without more detail, it's difficult to determine which menu option this refers to, and what the possible problem or solution might be.

Question

Netflix does not work

The Blu ray player shows Netflix registration date before I bought the player. I just want to reset and get Netflix to work. This is bizarre. Your 800 Number doesn't even answer questions.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having a hard time getting Netflix to work.

Let's try resetting your unit. If this doesn't help, you may need to contact the Samsung customer service center at the following link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/

With the disc tray empty and the unit powered ON, press and hold the STOP button until the unit resets. This will effectively bring the unit back to factory settings, or the settings from the last firmware update.

Once you reconnect to your router and launch the Netflix app, you'll be prompted to enter a code into the www.Netflix.com/activate website, which will then let the Blu-ray player to your Netflix account.

It's hard to say why it's not playing.

You'll want to emulate the formats used for DVD discs, but I don't have any recommendations that I can offer.

If +R doesn't work, try -R discs.

Data doesn't transfer from one device to another, such as from the TV to Blu-Ray or the other way around.

A separate LinkStick for the TV and Blu-Ray player would be necessary for simultaneous connections. The same LinkStick could be used for either one at a time (since you can't really use two at a time at the same time anyway), but if you don't want to switch from one device to another, then you'll need to purchase two LinkSticks.

Thanks for your interest in Samsung products.

A 5.1 receiver and speakers would be one option, as would a Home Theater system be another.

Adding speakers directly to the Blu-Ray player may not be possible - the receiver or theater system would be a better solution.

Question

Every disc either skips or freezes at some point. Is this a lemon?

I am very unsatisfied with this product. (Samsung Smart Blu-ray, BD-D5300 / BD-D5250c )
** Every disc I use skips or freezes at some point. Regular DVDs, BluRays, Recorded ones and even brand new ones right out of the wrapper.
It is so frustrating. Try explaining to a 4 year old why she cant watch the rest of her movie.
Also it is very loud, I thought this would be a quiet machine.
I am wondering if I received a defective player or just made a poor choice in this product as a whole.
Thank you

When updates are rolled out by an App owner like Netflix, the old versions are uninstalled so that new versions can be installed. Netflix is available as a download from the “Video” section of Apps on applicable Samsung Blu-Ray players, and it is always available for download if it wasn’t automatically installed or updated on your player (provided you live in a region where Netflix is available, and your player supports the Netflix App).

If you are still unable to install Netflix, or the App has disappeared and you aren't able to find it in the Apps section, please reach out to the Samsung customer service center at 800-SAMSUNG or speak with one of our technicians at the chat link below:
