Try turning off the router and then turn it back on. Then turn off the Blu ray player and turn in back on and try the whole thing again. It seems to be a pain to get the player to work with wireless systems.

I also found that the BD-C6800 does not like WPA2. I had to set my router to operate in WPA or WPA2 mode. Devices like the blu-ray that don't like WPA2, can access the network while other devices can still connect using WPA2.

The Player apparently does not like the "WEP" Security. All of my other devices connect smoothly on "WEP" but this player does not. I had to switch to WPA2 to get this connected to Internet.

What is the Mfg/Model of your access point? Does it support 802.11b/g/n? My access point supports 802.11b/g. BluRay able to access wireless only if all access point WPA/WPA2 security is disabled.

I had problems with the wi-fi after loading the 1008 firmware level. It was showing all zeros for the MAC address. It would work but very sporadically. They wanted me to send in the unit for repair. After talking with them and asking more questions it appeared there was some sort of firmware issue (they stated the firmware needed to be downgraded). It also seemed to lock up the USB port as well. The new 1009.1 firmware was posted today (12/27/2010). I had to connect via wired connection and was able to download the new firmware successfully. I tested both the wi-fi connection and the USB port after the fact and everything is working again (even after several power offs/ons). I wish Samsung would post what the firmware levels address (they use to).

Change to WPA from WEP on your router (airport extreme base station). Then start all over from the beginning on the set up menu. Use the auto settings for configure. It did take most of the evening to figure this out.

This unit has a major issue with connection over wifi. I took mine back and got another one and i got it to work. For how long who knows. The best thing to do is take it back to the store that you bought it from and get something else while you can. Sad but true. That is the best way to fix it.

I had the same problem with the same Blu Ray Player. My problem was self inflicted though. I was hiding my SSID. Once I changed it to un-hidden, the problem went away.

From reading the other answers to your question, it looks like this model may have a firmware issue. Hopefully Samsung will release a fix for this soon.

I used the Allshare software available on the Samsung website. Download and install on your PC. I put all items in the public folder on my computer and shared it on my network. Photos in Photos, videos in video folder etc. You must now select in the allshare software which folder you want it to access. Make sure to sync software on PC so it can see files. When you look on your player you should see your PC show up in the device list. I believe you press (a) on your remote. You must go to video icon on player to stream videos, Picture I con on player to view pics etc. Once you get the software installed you should be able to figure it out. It took me a bit but now I love Allshare and stream from my PC to four bluray player, and two cellphones on my network all Samsung devices. There is also a pdf to download to see all the features of the allshare software and help with the setup.

The BD-C6800 probably can't provide enough power to the WD Passport (I have one but haven't tried it with my player).

I use a 8GB Kingston microSDHC card, in the small USB adapter, and it works fine.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with Netflix.

In most cases, the movie will start about 30 seconds after the play button has been pressed. There are some variables that may cause this to be a little bit longer, and that may be additional traffic on the network, heavy Internet downloading, or other variables such as nearby wireless devices interfering with the wireless signals.

In short, there may be any number of reasons where variables might produce a different results in different situations.

It may also want to check with the Netflix customer service center, which can be reached at 1-866-716-0414.

We appreciate your support of Samsung products.

An app for Hulu Plus on the Samsung BD-C6800 is now available. Select "Internet@TV" on the main menu screen of your player. From there, select the Samsung Apps store and it will download the Hulu Plus app directly onto your player.

You may need to setup your app account with Samsung Apps prior to download. Just go to the very top of the samsung.com web page and select APPS. This should take you to the app store where you can create an account. Once created, provide your C6800 player with your account info. You should then have no trouble downloading any apps from the Samsung App store within your player. If the app is marked as free to download (like Hulu Plus) then you will not be charged. Your regular Hulu membership fee still applies, of course. If all else fails, consult the *latest version* of the BD-C6800 manual, available on these support pages.

My Blueray 6800 dvd player cannot connect to the Internet on my Fios connection. Can you help?

I tried using the auto features to connect, but that did not work. I then used the manual features and again that did not work. I am getting very frustrated and am about to return it to where I purchased it from. I followed all the procedures in the manual, but none seem to work.

I’m sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your Blu-ray player.

I’d recommend trying to reset the unit by turning the unit on and making sure that the disc tray is empty. Then, press and hold the STOP button until the unit resets. Then, go through the initial setup and power down the unit. Then, try and restart the unit and you should have proper operation.

If you still continue to experience difficulty, I would recommend contacting the Samsung customer service center, and speaking to one of our chat agents at the following link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/

Or you can also call them directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

We appreciate your support of Samsung products, and we look forward to assisting you.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

We suggest you refer to the following troubleshooting article to help you isolate what may be the best course of action to help you determine what the issue may be.

http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp?idx=340883&modelname=BD-C6800&modelcode=&session_id=P6M3vXWgB4PJDl0RTw2K61n1p0NXwGjP201TQ55Lkd6v6vdgJQRJ%211005328399%21-581493343%211337625655473

Also, have you attempted to update the firmware on this device? If not, make sure no discs are in the tray, close the tray, click MENU on the remote, navigate to SETUP and press ENTER to select it. Navigate to System Upgrade, press ENTER to select and apply any firmware updates. We recommend you check this at least once a month. The latest firmware update for this player was issued on 01/16/2012.

Also, another option to consider would be a factory reset. This would return the player to its fresh out of the box state. Please refer to the following article on how to complete this process.

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/supportOwnersHowToGuidePopup.do?howto_guide_seq=5402&prd_ia_cd=N0000071&map_seq=35280

You should also check to make sure your router has the latest firmware updates, but you'll need to refer to the router manual or manufacturer's website to determine how to do that.

If you have any additional questions, we suggest your refer to your product manual or the product support page on our website, where you'll find a comprehensive troubleshooting guide, product support videos, FAQs and How-Tos, as well as manual & firmware downloads.

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/supportOwnersProduct.do?prd_mdl_name=BD-C6800

Find out your wireless router details. You may need to manually enter them on your blu-ray player. I had this problem, but instead of manually inputting the information I went back to Initial Set-up and went through it again. I made sure the wireless config settings were the same as what I'd taken off the router website. This seemed to work and now when I switch my player off, then on, the wireless settings are good and it connects every time.

Not all manufactures will have codes that are represented in the owners manual. We offer the codes for a large array of television manufacturers, and while we are able to offer a wide selection, not all manufacturers or all products will be available.

In this case this particular manufacturer is not supported, as codes are not available in the manual.

I had the same problem 2 nights ago (15th). I tried again last night and it worked and gave me a message apologizing for the ApStore being down for a while. So i would try again. It might tell you something about doing an update as well.

I use Netflix via TV long time already. I am not sure what do you mean “TO VIEW ALL MOVIES ON NETFLIX” When you go to Netflix page, you can see all the movies were put together by groups like New movie arrivals, New TV arrivals, Starz Play, Romantic Foreign Thrillers, etc.. And on the right of each group of movies is a button VIEW ALL. When you click on that, you should see all the movies belong to that group which all Netflix have for instantly.

First off the 54Mbps your laptop is showing is the theoretical maximum speed between two devices on your Wifi network and NOT to/from the internet. The speed of your internet connection is set by your ISP and type of connection (DSL, Cable etc).

That aside the BD-C6800 is showing the speed to/from a Samsung site which may, or may not, have anything to do with your internet connection speed.

For example I have a 3Mbps DSL line but practically obtain 2.5Mbps pretty consistently. My BD-C6800 often says the connection speed is 2.2Mbps but I've also had it as low as 700Kbps even though my internet connection was fine. Evidently the Samsung server was busy and/or the connection to it was congested.

If you have a 1.5Mbps internet connection I'd say that 1.15Mbps is probably as good as the BD-C6800 will get.
