The BD-C6500 has 2.4 GHz wireless included, so the additional purchase of the Samsung WIS09ABGN LinkStick is not required.

However, you will need to have a wireless access point (router) to connect the Blu-ray player to your Internet connection.

Question

Hulu Plus

When I purchased your blue ray player it advertised on the box that it would support Hulu Plus as an app. I see that it is no longer it the Apps section and the Hulu Plus website said that it is not one of the Samsung players that can run it. Is there anyway to get the app and service for my player?

The Hulu+ App has only been available on the BD-C6900, BD-C7900 and BD-C8000. There are no plans to expand the Hulu+ App to other models that I'm aware of at this time.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having a problem connecting to Netflix.

One thing you might try is making sure that you're giving the player enough time to connect to the wireless router after the initial boot up. In some cases, this message will appear if people turn on the Blu-ray player and then directly go to the Internet@TV options before a connection is made. Waiting until the Blu-ray player has connected to the wireless router usually helps if that's the case. Usually up to 30 seconds might be recommended, depending on how far away the router is and how long it takes to connect.

You might also check to make sure that your firmware update is the latest version. If not, you'll want to take the steps to install and update your Blu-ray player for optimal performance.

Also check to make sure that no changes have been made to your router, including firewall settings or hiding the SSID. In some cases, this can also cause an issue. Additionally, other wireless devices such as wireless phones and baby monitors can also cause interference. You want to make sure that the area near your Blu-ray player is clear of these kinds of devices.

I'm sorry, but i"m unable to answer this since I'm not sure which code you'd like to address.

Many of the Apps generate their own codes, but that doesn't seem to be what you're asking.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue with your update.

If this is with the online firmware, you may want to try downloading directly from the Samsung.com website and installing the firmware manually by using the file and download instructions here:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/d...

You will want to make sure the update you're loading is a later date and firmware build than the one you're replacing. If you have any questions on this, please check first with the Samsung customer service center at 800-SAMSUNG.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue with your player.

If the menu is frozen while Internet@TV updates are applied, this is normal operation as Samsung delivers the most up to date upgrades available.

If this is happening in a different menu or situation, it may need further troubleshooting or service.

To view any movies or shows, you'll need to queue them into your Instant Watch list, which can be done by logging onto Netflix with your personal computer and adding those shows.

Not all shows are available, however, Netflix is adding new shows and movies often.

The Internet@TV Apps often update automatically to provide the latest versions and functionality for your Blu-Ray player. Not all files are updated at the same time, although in an effort to deliver a quality experience, updates are delivered as needed.

Did you choose the same flavor of encryption as you had an old router? In some cases, the settings in the Blu-ray player may be ready for the settings on your old router and that may not be compatible. You may also need to contact the customer service center of the router's manufacturer for further assistance on setting up devices that aren't connecting.

Unfortunately, I cannot assist with home networks.

In the case of Apps, sometimes they have to be removed prior to installing the updated, new and improved version of the same apps. While they can disappear, you can also reload them back on, but in most cases they should be reloaded back on automatically after they are removed.

For those who may not be expecting this, I can appreciate where it might be a little unsettling to watch your apps disappear. Rest assured, they will come back.

I'll be happy to send the other comments up to our engineering team.

We appreciate your support of Samsung products.
