Customer questions and answers for samsung Wi-Fi Blu-ray Disc™ Player
Question
Need help with the new audio connection.
Before adding the BD-C6500, my optical cable was connected from my Samsung LN-S4095D TV to my Technics SA-DX1050 Receiver(5.1). After disconnecting the optical cable from the TV and connecting it to the Blu-ray player and switching the receiver's input from TV to DVD, I am getting no audio to or thru the receiver. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Depending on if your audio is best decoded at the Blu-ray level, or at the receiver level is often dependent on which audio formats are supported by your receiver.
There are three settings that you can choose in the Blu-Ray menu. PCM, Bitstream, and Bitstream Audiophile. Try toggling these options in the audio menu of the Blu-Ray player to see if that helps solve your audio issue.
PCM will decode and send the signal to the receiver. Audiophile settings will send the signal and let the receiver decode it.

Question
Netflix activation issue!
Why do I have to activate my netflix service on my Samsung BD player (BDC6500) everytime I want to stream a movie, shouldn't my player remember I've already activated? This is very annoying! Thanks

As far as I know, you only have to reactivate netflix when either the Netflix app, or the firmware are updated. It should remember the activation in all other situations. The only other thing I can think of is that you are overwriting your activations by activating another device somewhere.

Not all manufactures will have codes that are represented in the owners manual. We offer the codes for a large array of television manufacturers, and while we are able to offer a wide selection, not all manufacturers or all products will be available.
In this case this particular manufacturer is not supported, as codes are not available in the manual.
We just installed the BD-C6500 blu-ray player to our Samsung 48" 650 LCD HD TV. When the blu ray player comes on, we get the initial blu ray screen, then the tv displays thr blue box message 'Mode not supported'. What's wrong? Sometimes it loads okay and we can play a movie.

BD 6500 with Samsung rear projection TV - MODE NOT SUPPORTED

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your Samsung television.
The "Mode Not Supported" message means that the incoming resolution is not supported by the television. This may be because the resolution is too high, or too low. In the case of a Blu-ray player connected to a rear projection television, it's quite possible that the resolution is set too high on the Blu-ray player. This can be adjusted by going into the Blu-ray players video menu and choosing 720p if you have a HDTV, or 480 if you have a standard definition television.
Thanks for your support of Samsung products, if we can help further please reach out to the Samsung customer service center at 800-SAMSUNG.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue with your network.
In many cases, there are settings in the router or modem that may be a variable in sending and receiving data. Unfortunately, since so many variables exist, I'd have to recommend contacting your router manufacturer or calling 800-SAMSUNG for additional assistance.

There are two possible reasons why your music may not be playing.
One, you might check the owner's manual to make sure that the file types you're attempting the player supported file types. MP3 files for instance are supported however not all file types are.
If there is additional DRM, or digital rights management added to the files, then maybe prohibiting the files from playing. You may want to consult the company that you download files from to see if there are restrictions to keep them from playing on all devices.

If the player works successfully when connected directly to the modem, but not the router, it may be an issue with the firewall or setting in the router. The best I can suggest would be to contact the manufacturer of your router to see if they can assist with adjusting the settings so you can connect your Blu-ray player.
I had my bluray player linked with my sister's Netflix account. I have now gotten my own Netflix account, so I followed the steps to de-activate it from her Netflix account, but when launching the Netflix app on my player, it is still linked. Her account shows the device as deactivated. How can I reset the app/player to recognize that it is no longer connected to that account and get a new account linked? Is this something where I need to wait a day or something? Please let me know how I can get the app reset and link it to a new account.

To reset the player back to factory defaults, which would effectively deactivate the Netflix account, try the following:
With the disk tray empty and the unit powered on, press and hold the STOP button for 15 seconds. The unit should reset successfully, with no settings and as if it was new out-of-the-box.
Once you connect your wireless router or your wired connection, you will be able to launch the Netflix app and enter in a new code.
If you still have a problem deactivating that account, it may be necessary to contact the Netflix customer service center. They can be reached at 1-866-716-0414.
Not all manufactures will have codes that are represented in the owners manual. We offer the codes for a large array of television manufacturers, and while we are able to offer a wide selection, not all manufacturers or all products will be available.
In this case this particular manufacturer is not supported, as codes are not available in the manual.
