Thank you for contacting Samsung.

At Samsung, we strive to make our products as feature-rich as possible by allowing you to view or listen to external media through the product itself. While we'd imagine something could be streamed to a computer via an HDMI input, we do not have any specific directions on how to do this.

If you have any additional questions, we suggest your refer to your product manual or the product support page on our website, where you'll find a comprehensive troubleshooting guide, product support videos, FAQs and How-Tos, as well as manual, software & firmware downloads.

Question

How I get the apps to use the external usb?

The dvd only has 60.93 MB, and I need to install another app. The amount of apps offered it is way too big. How do I extend the memory of my BD-C5500? or I need to buy a new one with more memory. Can I remove VUDU? Thanks

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

As long the USB flash drive has no other files located on it, your Blu-ray player should auto-detect it once it has been plugged in. You can go into SETTINGS > SYSTEM > BD DATA MANAGEMENT to make any changes to how the player handles data storage from Blu-rays that have BD-Live content. Please see page 35 in your product manual for additional information on this process.

Purchasing a new player is completely your decision to make. If VUDU is one of the default apps, there is no way to remove it. You can find more info on VUDU via the following link:

http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp?idx=341603&modelname=&modelcode=&session_id=

If you need additional guidance, we recommend you call 1-800-SAMSUNG to speak with a live agent.

The Amazon Prime app is currently being developed by Amazon and will be released/launched by Amazon when it is ready. Samsung does not control when the app will be ready and for further information please contact the app manufacturer or check the Samsung App Store periodically for updates.

I am assuming you have your blu-ray registered with samsung. just go to the "my account" tab. scroll down to the blu-ray player. Then next to the picture of your blu-ray should be several option. Click on the one that says download. Scrol down to the one you need and download it.

Question

Upgrade issue: renders the player useless

I have a bd-c5500 blu ray player and it continually shows a pop-up that says 'Model information in upgrade file does not match with your player'. However everything in the system is correct and internet shows that it is working too.

This has been happening on and off for since I bought the player. Usually, I can turn the unit off and back on a couple of times and it will finally work. No longer the case.

We need more information such as your connection type. Are you using a wireless or wired connection? Does the music freeze when using a wired connection or only wireless? What is the firmware version currently on your player? If using a wireless connection, what type of router are you using? A wireless A/B/G or N router? Distance from the BD? Have you changed router channels to avoid interference? How many devices are connected to your network while streaming Pandora and does it make a difference if some or all are removed?

Use this link to download the file. Save to a flashdrive and transfer to the player manually. The flashdrive needs to only have that one file on it for the player to read it correct.
