You can reset the unit by turning the unit on and making sure that the disc tray is empty. Then, press and hold the STOP button until the unit resets. Then, go through the initial setup and power down the unit. Then, try and restart the unit and you should have proper operation.

If you still continue to experience difficulty, I would recommend contacting the Samsung customer service center, and speaking to one of our chat agents at the following link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/

Or you can also call them directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

We appreciate your support of Samsung products, and we look forward to assisting you.

Question

I just bought a wireless adapter for my BD-C5500 and did the required set-up for my network and it shows that I'm connected to the internet.

But now I cannot get any of the apps to work. I try getting to the internet and it keeps saying "Installing for hours". I rebooted and updated the software and it says that I have the latest software. Any idea how to fix this problem?

On my BD-C5500, this player usually gets stuck in the "menu" position on the front of the player. It has the latest update and it doesnt matter if it is blue ray or regular ray. I always have to remove the disk and reinsert it to make it play. I has done this since I took it out of the box. Why? I have hdmi hooked up to a new Samsung 46" lcd tv.

Closed Captioning is usually referred to as "Subtitles" on DVDs and Blu-ray discs, and will appear on most (however, not all) disc titles.

You may need to select the "Subtitles" option and change the setting to "ON" by going into the Language Menu of the DVD.

Choose English, or your preferred language, and the words should be able to appear on the screen as the movie plays.

At this time, there is no keyboard application for any of the 2010 Blu-ray models.

If you have a smart phone, you may check to see if maybe there are some apps available with the keyboard function, although they are not officially supported on 2010 models.

Some functions on bluray disks require a larger amount of memory than may be available in your unit. Most players have a sd card slot or usb memory card slot. You should be able to use these for the memory you need. Your system should automatically recognize that either one has been connected.

This could possibly one of two things, either the update isnt on the root of the usb flashdrive (should not be in a folder) or the file may still be in a .zip file state and needs to be unzipped and then moved to the root of the flashdrive.
