I’m sorry to hear that you're having this problem with your Blu-ray player.

With the limited information that has been provided, I'm unable to assist with troubleshooting. I would definitely recommend contacting the Samsung customer service center, and speaking to one of our chat agents at the following link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/

Or you can also call them directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

We appreciate your support of Samsung products, and we look forward to assisting you.

Question

Our Blu-ray player seems to get stuck in the same place on different movies.

At first I thought that it was a specific movie that we were watching, but it happens on more than one movie that we have tried to watch. Like maybe the reader arm is getting stuck. Is there an easy way to fix this?

I’m sorry to hear that you're having this "getting stuck" problem with your Blu-ray player.

I’d recommend trying to reset the unit by turning the unit on and making sure that the disc tray is empty. Then, press and hold the STOP button until the unit resets. Then, go through the initial setup and power down the unit. Then, try and restart the unit and you should have proper operation.

If you still continue to experience difficulty, I would recommend contacting the Samsung customer service center, and speaking to one of our chat agents at the following link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/

Or you can also call them directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

We appreciate your support of Samsung products, and we look forward to assisting you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this issue.

A common problem people overlook is unpacking the downloaded file on the PC desktop, and installing those files on a freshly formatted thumb-drive.

Sometimes, people incorrectly copy the file over, and expect the TV to unpack the files, and that doesn't work.

Instead, try launching the downloaded file FROM the desktop, and installing the files TO the freshly-formatted thumb-drive.

If you still continue to experience difficulty, I would recommend contacting the Samsung customer service center, and speaking to one of our chat agents at the following link:

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/

Or you can also call them directly at 1-800-SAMSUNG.

Verify the network setting in the BD-C5500, in the DNS server section try other IP from your internet service provider. In my case I had 2 IP address and my bluray player always get the first one, and this address was not working. When I put the second DNS server number is working properly and the device connect with the internet.

There is not an official streaming program supplied by Samsung that supports the Macintosh format at this time.

There may be programs available, however they would have to provide all the support for connectivity and streaming. (Try Serviio, TVersity or Twonky to name a few).

Question

Updating Samsung Internet TV Apps never completes...

I tried to use the Internet TV section of my BD-C5500 (w.version 1021.4) and was informed that there was an update necessary. I clicked Ok and the update downloaded but the 'Installing" message doesn't go away. I let it run for hours while I ran errands. I can turn off the player and play BDs but cannot access the Internet TV functions. It always returns to the installing message with the rotating stars... Is this a temporary problem or is there some solution I can apply?

I have an issue where the Netflix sound will only play out of the analog ports instead of the hdmi. It happens a couple times a week. I have reset the player, but it still happens. The only way I have found to get the sound to work again out of the HDMI is to open the "Texas Holdem" app. This application seems to redirect the sound back to the HDMI cable. Netflix seems to not be setting the audio ports correctly itself.

New Apps apps are authored by the owners of the content. They choose which devices their app works, and it may only be certain models. It's not necessarily that Samsung didn't choose to include it, it could be that it has not been offered yet, or is in the process of development.

In this case, please contact Amazon services directly to see if their streaming video selection will be added to the Samsung television or Blu-ray models this year. Until there is an announcement made, we aren't able to speculate on which apps will become in the market in the near future.

Question

internet@tv not working

internet@tv worked on initial setup, netflix also was set up. the next day when turned on and internet@tv chosen, i got a downloading message that literally ran all night, 10+ hours. and that did not seem to do anything, as it still does not connect and goes right back to "downloading". the internet connection is fine, i have it on Ethernet direct wired and all the connectivity tests on the bd player check out. i can check for firmware etc.. i have tried to hold the off button down for 15 seconds+ but as it is a "touch" button as opposed to a actual mechanical button that pushes in and can be held, it is not seeming to do anything. question is, how do i fix this short of returning the player to the store?

There's not an explanation that I can offer as to why the network was working, and now it is unable to connect to your network. It may be an issue with your router or firewall limitation. You may also want to check with the customer service department of your routers manufacturer.

We appreciate your support of Samsung products, and we look forward to assisting you.

Not all manufactures will have codes that are represented in the owners manual. We offer the codes for a large array of television manufacturers, and while we are able to offer a wide selection, not all manufacturers or all products will be available.

In this case this particular manufacturer is not supported, as codes are not available in the manual.

You can, however if you don't have a wireless router or wireless access point, the Samsung WIS09ABGN LinkStick won't have any device to connect to.

A wireless router added to your network would allow you to use the LinkStick with your Internet connection.

Unfortunately, there isn't enough detail in this post to be able to assist.

For general networking questions, you may want to contact your modem/router's customer service, as often times, wireless or networking issues can be a result of router or modem settings. This is always the recommended place to start.

After contacting your router's manufacturer, you might also call 800-SAMSUNG to see if one of our customer service agents can assist, but we can't be responsible for people's networks or assisting with router settings, firewalls or security - all those must be performed by your router manufacturer's customer service.

Also, if your product doesn't include a wireless feature, the WIS09ABGN LinkStick (for 2009, 2010 and 2011 products) is the only supported Wireless Device for your Samsung TVs and Blu-Ray/Home Theater systems.

The numbers on the remote control for the Blu-ray player will also allow you to key in a password containing numbers and letters (such as used an an alphanumeric keyboard).

They will likely not tune the TV tuner, as the Blu-Ray remote is designed to operate specifically with the Blu-ray player.
