With the round base still attached, place the monitor on the floor. Pivot the screeen back. Place your feet on both sides of the base (take your shoes off first!). Grip the monitor by the bottom edge or corners and firmly lift straight up. It will be snug, but it should slide right out. DO NOT PINCH GRIP THE SCREEN!

Simply pull on it. The base is just very snugly inserted into the back of the monitor. Put it screen down on a soft surface (bed works well), and move it a little side to side as you pull the base out to free it up more easily. I have four of these monitors and have successfully removed the base from all of them that way without damage. The round base part and screw/latch to unlock has no effect on this process, which I know is misleading.

Samsung P2770FH 27" does not have Headphone jack.... it has a Optical and Line out (which with some monitors can be used as a headphone jack...honestly i have not tried it with this monitor) in back right next to the DVI hook up.

Question

can't get the monitor to display a full screen image.

I have adjusted the size in the menu bar from "wide" to "automatic", but there is still about an inch around the screen that just stays black. Please advise.

Usually this happens by the resolution you are running it at. Try running resolution at Native and see what it does.
Also I had issues at first with my Samsung P2770FH 27", where when i ran it at Native 1080p it would be off screen. I went to...
MENU-SIZE&POSITION-IMAGE SIZE- and changed it to FIT SCREEN...

I don't think the monitor is the problem. Mine has worked fine for years in 7 and works with 8 as well.

Use the DVI connection on the monitor. VGA is analog. If your pc doesn't support DVI, you can't properly use the digital input.

Question

Are their drivers specific to Windows 7?

I recently upgraded my system to Windows 7 and am receiving the following message far too often:
"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered. Display driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Drivers for Windows Vista(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
Seldom does my computer work properly after receiving this message. Most of the time the display will go black and then come back on a half dozen times and then I get a blue screen with a message. After only a few seconds, my computer restarts.

Question

Unable to use the monitor as my second display. Running Windows 7 - 64 bit.

The monitor is connected as a 2nd display to my laptop. I go to display settings and select for the desktop to be displayed only on my laptop monitor and the Samsung to be used as a secondary display. Once I hit (Apply) the Samsung goes blank. The only setting in which the Samsung monitor displays an image is when I select "Duplicate my desktop" In order to resolve the issue I attempted to update the driver, however when I attempt to install the driver included on the CD, I receive a message that the "program may not have installed properly". I have not been able to find an updated driver for the 2494 SW on the Samsung website.
Please advise.

Thank you
