If the stripe is moving this may be caused by a defective cable. Try replacing your cable to see if this resolves the issue. If the line is not moving it is most likely a row of dead pixels. You will need to set your monitor up for service to resolve this issue. You can do this by setting up an online service request or calling 1-800-SAMSUNG.

Whenever I power on my system or wake it from a sleep mode it takes about 2 minutes to display the screen. I've updated the monitor drivers and the screen display is set at 1024 x 768. The monitor is a SyncMaster 204B, Model # LS20BRDBBV/XAA, Serial #BR20HVFYC06532. It was purchased 3/8/2006. My video card is an NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Ultra. This monitor was previously used by my husband on his computer and he never had any problems with it.
The monitor received from my previous inquiry is misbehaving
when waking up from sleep or powering up, takes about three minutes to even display anything, then another three minutes or so to achieve its former brightness. once warmed up, normal brightness appears to be achieved and no other problem visible. monitor probably out of warranty. is it worth repairing the backlight or is it just like a "starter"?
r/e replacing the bulb in a syncmaster 204B monitor - What is the cost?
My monitor is taking about 3-5 minutes to come on, like the previous question. I'm interested in learning the cost factor of replacing the bulb vs. purchasing a new monitor, as I really like the size of this model.
When monitor is first turned on, it is so dim that I can not see anything.
After one or two minutes it comes up to full brightness and everything works OK. It has just started doing this in the past two or three weeks. Is this an indication that my monitor is about to fail? Since I purchased it, it always came to full brightness immediately.
