Buying an extended warranty policy is up to each individual and Samsung won't comment on that. Retailers will always push extended warranties as it is in their best interests to do so. Before I purchased my washer/dryer I was told by many salespeople that the Samsung is the best on the market (as evidenced by Consumer Reports rating) and will be much more reliable, according to the sales people. Whether or not to buy an extended warranty is really up to each individual buyer.

On occasion, Samsung will run a promotion and feature it on the website, but this is rare and the time frame would usually be very specific. I am assuming you didn't have this problem with any other washer on the water supply that you are connected to.

1. I would wash the rubber seal just inside the opening. Make sure you get the exposed side and the hidden part of the seal. Be somewhat careful so as not to tear the seal. If this isn't dried after every use and the door left open to dry completely, mold could be forming on the hidden portion of the seal. Do not use alcohol(may dry the seal out) or any sudsy type of detergent. I have not had the problem you are describing but I have used disinfecting wipes and diluted bathroom cleaning products on all my washers to prevent any buildup and to prevent mold.
2. Remove the dispensers and clean thoroughly. Liquid detergent and fabric softener can build up and cause odors. Also, after finishing laundry, always remove the dispenser and dry it as well as you can and leave it open to dry out
3. Lastly I would run an empty short cycle using a 1/2 cup of white distilled vinegar. After cleaning the dispenser, place the vinegar in the dispenser to be dispensed as if it were the detergent. Due to your problem I would repeat this a couple of times. I would then wash out the dispenser and then run a cycle using nothing, just to rinse the washer out. You may want to repeat this as well to make sure all the vinegar is removed.

Hopefully this solves your problem!. If this works make sure you dry the seal and dispenser after every laundry day and leave the door and dispenser slightly open. Run one cycle with the vinegar and one cycle with nothing once a month as a preventive measure. I have been doing this for years and have avoided the problem. I also do this in my dishwasher and coffee pots to keep them clean!

The hoses are pretty standard for washers so it should be fairly easy to find a longer one. I suggest going to your local hardware or authorized Samsung dealer and getting a longer hose.

I haven't had any problems with a mildew smell but I tend to keep the washer door open a crack after I finish my last load of laundry for the day, just so that the inside dries out.

The dryer door can be reversed, but the washer door cannot.
