I get the same issue. Turning off the energy saving stops this. I don't think it's helpful though. Why have an energy saving button if condensation builds up in any and all environments. This is either a lemon design or hot topic push appliance.

The heater in the strip between the doors is usually not necessary in very dry climates, or during dry seasons, like winter in the northeast, for example. This is the reason Samsung gives customers the ability to turn this feature on and off. If you are in a very humid climate, you will likely want to keep the Energy Saver mode turned off, which allows the strip to heat, helping to evaporate condensation from between the doors.

For assistance adjusting the temperature of the refrigerator or freezer, please refer to your User Manual, which can be downloaded from the Support & Downloads section of this website, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

answer 3
You can use a mild detergent or cleaner to clean the exterior of the refrigerator. Many have found streak-free glass cleaners like Windex to be effective in polishing the black finish and removing fingerprints and smudges. Samsung advises spraying water or cleaner on a rag then wiping the surface of the refrigerator rather than spraying directly onto the surface.

The answer to this question actually depends on which model French Door you own. If you have one with incandescent lighting in both the refrigerator and freezer, you will likely need to replace them with 60-watt bulbs (2 in the refrigerator, 1 in the freezer). If you have a newer French Door with LED lighting in the refrigerator, you will need to have the LED lights changed by a licensed service professional. If you like, you may contact Samsung at 800-SAMSUNG or by filling out a service request form online at http://www.samsung.com/us/support/o...

You may want to refer to your User Manual first to determine exactly which type of lighting or lightbulbs you may need. User Manuals can be downloaded from the product pages on Samsung.com; simply type your model number into the search bar at the top of the page to find it, then click on the Support & Downloads tab.

Question

What is the purpose of this shelf?

Our new refrigerator is a Samsung French Door Model RFG238AA. (Cannot find this model at the Samsung website, which is yet another problem.) However, my question is, what is the purpose of the curved shelf on the right-hand side? It looks as if it were designed to hold a roll of paper towel, but this is unlikely. It appears in the manual on page 31, just beneath the egg container, but is not keyed, as all the other parts are.

Ice build up, or frost, is caused by warm air entering the freezer. If the freezer door is left open for an extended period of time, frost will form. Check the door gasket, and check to see if the door is closing properly.

Refrigerators in the USA are designed to work on 120 VAC and 60 HZ. I believe India uses 220 VAC andd 50 HZ. The refrigerator will not operate, and will be damaged if the correct voltage is not used.

You may want to look into getting a power inverter that meets the refrigerators specs.

Question

Received my RF-217 yesterday and it runs almost constantly. Anyone know why?

I've noticed the gap between the french doors is much wider at the top than bottom. I question if the doors are closing properly hence the frig runs constantly to maintain the temperatures.

It is normal for the compressor to run for the first 24 hours of plugging in the refrigerator in order to reach the desired temperature. Doors that are not aligned properly may allow cold air to escape, which could cause the compressor to run continuously, as well. First, check to make sure the refrigerator is level. An unlevel surface can effect the door alignment. If the doors were removed during installation, make sure they were properly reinstalled. Please consult the User Manual, which can be downloaded from Samsung.com, for complete instructions on detaching and reattaching the doors, or contact your installer if the unit was professionally installed. For further assistance, you may also contact 800-SAMSUNG.
