Dead is a very strong way of saying it. However at this time, I can not say if the LED DLPs are being discontinued. I will ask you to keep checking back on Samsung.com for any new info on this matter.

Hi there! The newest series of DLPs are already in stores now. I would say that the 750 series would be the closest series to your current model's series.

Question

How do I replace a DLP bulb?

I purchased a DLP television over four years ago. It is out of the seller's extended warranty, so they will not help me. The bulb overheats and shuts the TV off. Is this a part I can order straight from Samsung and install it myself?

Hi there gussierra, I can understand your concern. At this time I can not say if the DLP line is being discontinued, but I will say that if you purchase a DLP, you will not be left out in the rain. Even if a product line that is manufactured by Samsung is being discontinued, we will not just drop support for it. There are thousands of other loyal customers out there that have these products and would eventually need service on them. That being said, Keep checking back on Samsung.com for all the latest updates.

Most likely, this is caused by a signal that is being fed to the TV that the TV can not support. I don't know what signals you may have going to the set, or what model you have, so I can't really go much further into a diagnosis.

Question

White dots on my DLP screen

I am getting small white dots on my dlp screen.
I spent alot of money on a samsung 57 inch dlp a little over 2 years ago.
I noticed other people on the internet with the same problems and they said the dots will multiply.
Is there going to be a recall.
This should not happen to tvs that are 2 years old.
Please let me know what my options are as I need to get it fixed.

LCD, plasma, and Samsung's new LED TVs are all flat panel televisions. They are a few inches thick and can be mounted on a wall. DLP is an improved version of the rear-projection television. A stream of light is reflected off spinning mirrors onto the back of the screen to make the picture. Previous rear-projection TVs were almost as deep as they were wide. DLPs can be half or a third as deep. Still, at twelve or more inches deep, DLPs are hardly suitable to be wall mounted. You will see DLPs on a low table or sitting directly on the floor. All of these TVs will give you a great HD picture. A DLP set costs much less for the same size screen, the trade off being the added weight and space compared to one of the flat panel models.

Question

DLP screen freezes with black & white image

I have a Samsung HLN5056W DLP that will periodically freeze up with a black and white image. If I unplug the set for a few minutes it will sometimes be fine for days and other times will freeze back up in a few mins. Twice when I restarted it, there was a strange sound like a little motor running but that usually doesn't happen. I've seen this issue all over other internet forums but all the answers seem to be different. Thanks.

Question

why does picture occasionally shift and flicker?

Picture will flicker, shift up and down erratically, and occasionally lose signal completely. This happens for 30-60 seconds randomly and may even occur after working perfectly for 30 minutes. It usually settles down and the picture returns to normal.

Model HLR5067WAX/AA.

The cable company has made service call and replaced the converter box and picture behaves the same with the replacement box. All connections confirmed as good. Other TV's in house behave normally.

Strangely, this often happens as the picture changes from the regular program to a commercial break. It also seems worst on those channels viewed most often, like CNBC and Fox.

Some times, as the lamp gets older, it may take a little longer for it to light up to its default or user set brightness. If it is hindering your viewing enjoyment of the set, contact service at 1-800-SAMSUNG, they should be able to help you out better and quicker then I can on here.
