What are the main differences between an LCD, LED and Plasma HDTV?
Trying to determine which TV is best for me. I know the main advantage of the new LED HDTV is that it is the thinnest. Which has the best picture?

well, it really depends on your preference, lighting, and where your going to put it. The LN52A860 has a higher contrast ratio than the LED tvs. Say if you want to put the tv in a well lit room, the LED may be for you, theyre much brighter than the incandecents in standard LCDs. If its going to go in a regular room or dimmer room, the LN52A860 may be for you because it has a higher contrast ratio and can be seen better in a lower lit room. hope this helps

answer 2
The LCD and LED lines are more suitable to a wider range of home lighting environments, and the LED line is much more energy efficient.
Plasmas do better in reduced light settings.
Which one is best will depend upon your viewing needs.
By the way, the backlight on traditional LCDs is fluorescent, not incandescent. Big difference. The Samsung LCDs use cold-cathode fluorescent lighting.
I have a Samsung LNS4095D and would like to know why the Energy Savings mode resets after 20 minutes?
I'd like to have the energy savings mode on all the time but my LNS4095D keeps resetting back to the factory settings after 20 minutes. The same goes for the picture mode. Do I have a defective model?

I can not say whether you have a defective model or not since I do not have access to your TV, but I would suggest updating your firmware on that model. If the problem persists, please contact our service department at 1-800-SAMSUNG for further help.
Model LTN406W LCD television will occasionally go black on half the screen and return to normal within 10 to 15 minutes. Also television will not show a picture when first turned on for 5 to 15 minutes, but I can still hear the sound. Please advise possible problem.

I'm sorry you are having an issue, however I can not diagnose the issue over the internet. I suggest contacting 1-800-SAMUNG to get in contact with a service professional. Hopefully they will be able to walk you through any issue resolution in order to you TV back into working condition.
Define what you mean by how, the higher the resolution, the clearer the picture: but you have to have either have an HD subscription service to see it, or use DTV.

Question
What is the difference between a 6ms response time and a 120hz refresh rate?
Some of your specifications refer to the response time to reduce blurring for sports action and some refer to refresh rate. Which should I look for in buying a new tv and why?

I can't tell you which is better to look for in a TV, but after explaining it to you now, I hope this helps your decision making.
Response time refers to the amount of time it takes the signal to be processed and displayed on the screen.
The Refresh Rate refers to the actual frames per second that the signal is displayed at.
All of our TVs work at a 60Hz refresh rate, meaning that the signal "can" be displayed at up to 60 frames per second. Some of our TVs display the signal at 120Hz, meaning that it can display and even upconvert the signal to 120 frames per second.
The more frames per second that are displayed, the more you will be able to see.
What is DNLE? DLNA? DCM? My DVD sound system has an s Video connector - how do I do this on B650? Does b650 have info link? Is the B650 more advanced than the A850?

Well lests start with the first one: 1) DLNA is the standard that many different manufacturers use to allow entertainment devices within the home to share their content with each other across a home network. 2) You will need an S-Video cable to connect your DVD player to the B650. Once connected its just a matter of switching your source on the TV to the s-video connection and you should be good to go. 3) The 32"+ 650 series has infolink 4) Although the 650 and 850 have similar and differing technologies, it really is up to the consumer to decide whether or not that particular model fits their lifestyle.

At this time, the only LCD for this model year that is in the 650 line that is larger then 46" is the LN55B650. However, keep checking back for any updates on the Samsung LCD sets.

Hi there GarrettH, great question. for the 2009 model year, neither size comes with Wiselink, which allows you to view pictures and listen to music through a usb drive. However the LN32B650 does have Infolink, which allows you to view some RSS internet content from the TV it self.
Hey there Racso89, thanks for the question. I don't know whether or not the LN40A650 is discontinued, but I can say that there is a newer model. The LN40B650 is the 2009 model, and it has some updates to the set. check out our compare feature on the LCD front page to get a side by side comparison between the two sets.
I was given a fairly new Samsung television that is flat panel/ or plasma, fairly large and heavy in size/weight........All of the sudden (before it was given to me) it stopped working. The power button will not turn on, nor does it display a green light. Could the issue be something as simple as a power fuse? The fuse, after I took it out, seems as if it is no longer in working condition.... I cannot afford to take it to a tv repair shop at this time, but IF it is as simple as replacing a fuse, I would be willing to do that. I have spent an extensive amount of time looking for this specific model (tv) online and cannot seem to find it.

Hi there Fred, I am sorry you are having troubles with your TV. Although I can not help you determine what is wrong with the TV, I can point you in the right direction. If you call 1-800-SAMSUNG, you will be connected with our service department, and they should be able to help you figure out what is wrong with the set.
Good luck and I hope you find this information useful :)
Hi there redvr4! Although many of our LCD TVs support DLNA and even Wireless DLNA, none of the consumer level LCDs offer cablecard support. For a DLNA approved LCD TV, look into the B650 model and higher.
Hi there rsettecasi, great question! Many of our TVs have the ToC Red on the bezel for a number of reasons.
Why specifically the red color? In recent studies, the color red has been shown to invoke the most emotional responses from the testers. Red has been seen as a very bold, yet romantic color which induces the feeling of higher end quality.
Why use ToC (Touch of Color) on your bezels? There are 2 main reasons for this: 1) To distinguish our selves from the rest of the other manufacturers. People have come to equate Samsung with high end quality, and by further differentiating how our products look from our competitors, it becomes apparent that Samsung products not only look good, but perform great. It also makes our products unmistakably Samsung. 2) The ToC manufacturing method is actually a "Green" method of production. The process emits no CFCs or other green house gasses than many other similar processes from our competitors do.
Will there be other ToC colors? As a matter of fact, we have several TVs that offer ToC Blue and ToC Gray and Black. We are constantly trying new combination and colors to please the consumer base.
I've seen models LN40B610 and LN46B610 advertised on 1 site (in the US). I'm not finding much information on the web and this model is not listed on your site. Searching the web on "LN46A610" returns results from other countries, but I'm not seeing this model on your site either.
What's the scoop?
Thanks for your help..

Hi there dnewman571, the LN40B610 is in fact a warehouse club exclusive TV set. The reason you are not finding it on our site is because it would eat up to much space in order to display every retail partner specific set that we make. So we offer information of our most popular and most widely available products on our site.

Hi there lebelst1, great question! The main difference between the A and B models is that the B model line are the new models for 2009. In order to go any deeper on the differences in features, you will have to go into each specific model and compare them that way.
Can you give me break down on what the model number indicates?
I look at model numbers being advertised in our local papers and in local stores addds and it is difficult to determine what the TV set actually contains.

first two letters = Type (PN - Plasma, LN - LCD, UN - LED) second two numbers = screen size (19, 22, 40, etc.) A, B = year. A = 2008, B = 2009 Last three numbers = Series (450 = 4 series, 760 = 7 series, etc.)
